Acid
Alkaline Diet Guidelines:
Becoming alkaline, or alkalising,
emphasises a reduction of foods which have an acidifying effect on the
body and an emphasis on those that are alkalising. These healthy,
alkaline, nourishing and life giving foods include green, leafy
vegetables, salads, nuts, low-sugar fruits and healthy fats &
oils.
The reason we need to alkalise our body is because the Western diet has
become so focused upon acid-forming foods such as sugars, trans-fats,
dairy, fizzy drinks, chocolates and cigarettes.
The
result? Just take a
look around you. At least one person
you know will be obese, fatigued, chronically ill, or prematurely
aging. In the UK over 40% of deaths are related to heart disease1
and over 2 million people have diabetes2
.. 1 in 4 children
are obese today3
, and this statistic has doubled in the
last decade.
So
what is
the answer? The answer is to focus our
diet and lifestyle on foods that alkalise our bodies, infusing us with
the nutrients we need to flush out the toxins and return our bodies to
their natural state. Through over-acidification we have literally
become sick and tired.
