Our
Story
EFL was founded during UPW 2003. Why? Well,
for the first few fledgling days (actually it was nights spent throwing
ideas back and forth on messenger - much to the dismay of our girlfriends)
it was simply because we wanted to.
We wanted to start a business and we wanted the business to be doing something
we are passionate about.
Then something strange happened -
the more and more we spoke to each other and the more and more we told
people about it the more and more it became obvious: we didn't have
a choice about this...it wasn't up to us anymore...the
world needed Energise for Life (or whatever
we were calling it back then!)

Well,
we certainly can. We were health nuts well before we started
this adventure and can remember trying to buy all of the products,
supplements and equipment we needed online and being confronted with
an impressive list of problems:
- most of the websites did not have online,
credit card ordering, you had to place an order via a form and wait
for the company to ring you up to take your details over the phone!
- to
buy everything you needed you had to order from eight different
websites and two mail order firms...from all over the world!
- the sites around back then (and some
are still around now!) looked about as trustworthy as a Del Boy
Rolex
- being from the UK was an issue - you could
not even order two thirds of the products we were after in the UK
- ...and those that would ship here would charge
as much for postage as the product costs!
Quite remarkably, the vast majority of online health stores (pretending
for a minute that they are not stuffed full of spam) are still like
that! Our mission was to make Energise for Life the antithesis
of that!

And so Energise for Life was created in order to give people access
to everything they needed to achieve optimal health, vitality and wellbeing. A
tall order you might say - well, that did not concern us. We
were to the point of exasperation with trying to access the products
and information we needed for our own health goals - and we were pretty
sure there were others like us out there.
The Birth of energiseforlife.com
With almost zero web development skills we knew
it was going to be difficult. However, what we lacked in skills
we made up for in commitment and within a few short months the first
signs of energiseforlife.com were visible. We knew
we didn't just want to build a shop - we
wanted to build a community, somewhere
like minded people could come together, learn from each other and
push each other on. That is why at least 70% of the site is,
and always will be about knowledge sharing and information, resources,
recipes and guides and 30% is committed to bringing you all of the
health and wellbeing products you need to follow through.
The Result?
Well, the results are ongoing of course, but
to date our achievements include:
- We are now the undisputed #1 site for
alkalising in the UK and Europe (and arguably the world)
- We now ship all across Europe and even
as far as Australia
- We have a funky
team of Energisers
- We have successfully launched our sister-site energisesuccess.com
- We have shipped healthy products to over
4000 people from as far and wide as Germany, Albania, Gibraltar and
Australia!
- We have an active community including
the Energise Blog and Forum
- We have had a lot of fun and met a lot
of fantastic people!
