Hi - I am quite new to alkalising and am nearly 35 so trying for a baby as worried I might miss my chance! I eat fish but am otherwise vegetarian but thought I ate a pretty healthy diet otherwise. I know alkalising affects the blood, but how can it help my ovaries and reproductive system? Any thoughts?
Hi Suzie
Being a Director of energiseforlife.com is a good thing and a bad thing! The good thing is that I can offer (hopefully) a decent opinion and some info! The bad thing is because I am affiliated with a company I cannot offer anything that could be taken as advice.
So here goes. I am not and cannot in any way offer any medical advice, everything written below is based upon the feedback and research conducted by others. This is not me prescribing or making any medical or nutritional diagnosis.
There, now that is out of the way here are my thoughts.
I personally believe that the acid/alkaline balance and pregnancy are really interlinked. My personal thought is that if both myself and my partner are alkaline then we will have have a much better chance of not only getting pregnant more easily, but that the baby will be born healthy, happy and full of beans!
Dr Young is certainly of this opinion:
The best advise at any age for getting pregnant and then having a healthy pregnancy without miscarriage is for the couple to alkalize before, during and after pregnancy. Conception can only take place in an alkaline environment and the long term health of the fetus is directly related to the Father and Mother's lifestyle and diet. It must be alkaline. If not the risk for miscarriage and birth defects goes up significantly - especially after 40,"
I also personally know of a couple who were 'healthy' (both were personal trainers) but were in reality living a really acidic lifestyle (despite looking hot and buff!). They had been trying to have a baby for several years, and after seeing a blood microscopist they found they were massively overacid. After switching to the alkaline diet they be***e pregnant within a couple of months. With no other medication.
I believe in this - but I would see a qualified health practitioner before you make any drastic decisions!
Also: are you in the UK?
We have arranged for Dr Young to come to the UK for a weekend seminar on the 13-14th June and he has told me that he will be dedicating a part of the weekend to alkalising and pregnancy.

Hi Ross, that is really helpful but I don't think my partner will alkalise - he thinks he is healthy enough and that I spend too much on vitamins etc!! so it's just up to me I guess...I would love to see dr young but can't make that weekend- only weekend I have other committments - will it be repeated?
Hey Suzie
Given how quickly tickets are going and the amount of email requests we are getting for another date to be added - I would certainly expect we are going to put on more events with him in the future!
With regards to getting pregnant and fertility - everything I have read has actually pointed to the fact that while the woman has to be healthy to create a welcome environment, it is actually more important for the man to be watching his diet and lifestyle at this stage. If and when it is me, I will definitely be doing a cleanse and committing to a very healthy 2-3 months before I/we even try.
I have no idea what his diet and lifestyle is like, but if he is generally healthy, doesnt drink much or smoke and keeps fit then you are a) lucky and b) probably ok!
Still, it wouldn't hurt to sneak him some green drink every now and then!
Oh, and of course - all of the above is just my personal opinion and is not medical advice nor should be taken as such. You should consult with a qualified doctor before making any dietary changes.
Have a great day!
Ross

Figs, bee pollen, maca & barley grass are good for male/female fertility i've heard & as far as i know they are all alkalizing!
Bee pollen is supposed to be especially good for mens prostate health

yes, even your reproductive system. A well balanced, nutritious diet is essential for the formation of an embryo in your body, and for its further development for 9 months. Take this into consideration every time you sit down for a snack or meal, as it is one of the easiest things you can do to ensure your own health and that of your baby-to-be. Try to add more nutritional value to your food so that you are using every opportunity you can to boost your body’s reproductive wellness and fertility potential. In addition, taking large amounts of Vitamin C especially as synthetic ascorbic acid increases the body’s acidity.
Good Luck..!!!
