I just bought a sprouter & wheatgrass/alfalfa seeds & i also got the manual wheatgrass juicer, the Z-Star (from this site)

Im thinking its £100 well spent & this will help me to become even more alkaline

Im looking forward to tyring out the manual juicer, has anyone else got one?

Im worried that the sprouter & the wheatgrass seeds won't be enough to sucessfully grow wheatgrass & make juice, i heard there can be mold issues?
Im hoping i got everything i need to get going & try out wheatgrass, if not i guess ill just use the sprouter for alfalfa sprouts & the juicer for other things

Is fresh wheatgrass juice as good as some say?

Thanks

Hello there,

I have not got a manual juicer myself, but I have heard from other people who are using this Z-Star manual wheatgrass juicer that it is working really well. Even Gordon Ramsay has been using this manual juicer, so it must be quite good anyway :0).

With regards to growing wheatgrass in a smaller sprouter you might find that the wheatgrass is too tall for such a sprouter, as it needs space to grow. Most germinator jars/3 tier sprouters are better for smaller growing seeds like e.g. Alfalfa, Broccoli and Little Radish seeds as they do not need so much space to grow. Wheatgrass grows quite tall, which is why you might be struggling with that.

If you want to grow wheatgrass on a regular basis and juice it then I would personally recommend a larger and more automatic sprouter such as the 'Easygreen Wheatgrass sprouter', which is perfect for growing wheatgrass on a larger scale. It has a patented system, which provides cooling water mist and oxygen to seeds on an adjustable timer. It itsmore expensive as the smaller 3 tier sprouters, however in the long term this investment really pays off.

Juicing fresh wheatgrass is great and has a really alkalising effect on your body!

Hope the info helps.

Hey Chronic

Fresh wheatgrass is awesome - you feel an energy hit from it right away! I honestly can't say enough good things about it.

It IS a fair amount of work to grow your own without an auto sprouter like the easy green which is why a lot of people just stick with the powdered greens - BUT if you have the motivation to do it I can't recommend it highly enough!
