Although I have not really started the program, when I have previously tried to be more alkaline, I had to fight this horrible pangs for sugar. It's like a drug craving (I suppose). I even stopped smoking 4 months ago (more then a pack a day) but this craving of sweets is terrible. Any juicing or anything else useful. I have tried chromium, doctor precriebd up to 1000 mg but no help!
I could use some weightloss (10 pounds in my eyes) but my goal is health. I have fibromyalgia and I REALLY want to be better again. Thanks for any help.
Hi there,
I have searched for sugar cravings in Dr Young' s literature and he writes that your body is generally craving sweets because you are not giving it the mineral salts that it needs. He also states that once you start drinking and eating alkaline food and particularly eating unprocessed mineral sea salts that your acidic sugar cravings will eventually disappear.
You already made a great start in signing up to the Alkaline Lifestyle course as it has been designed to gently transition your diet to a more balanced and alkaline diet, which should then in turn reduce your sugar cravings as you are cutting out all high sugar foods and drinks whilst being on the course.
It might not happen instantly but following the course is a great start and you should definitely see and feel the health benefits pretty soon.
With regards to alkalising supplements that reduce your sugar cravings as Dr Young suggests, I would recommend the 'Young pHorever Mineral Salts', which is an alkalising seasoning for your foods. You can look at it here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/item--Young-pHorever-pHlavor-Mineral-Salts-8oz--PHMIRACLEPHLAVOR8oz.html
Another great supplement for reducing sugar cravings and for weight loss are the 'Young pHorever HCA Plus capsules' by Dr Young. You can look at them by clicking here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/item--Young-pHorever-HCA-Plus-90-caps--HCAPLUS.html.
I hope the info is helpful to you!

Thanks Bibi. I purchased the salts already but have not been using them much. I am not used to the taste of salt. Never salt anything or rarely. But will try!
Hiya,
No problem at all. It is always difficult to cut out a craving especially like sugar as it is very addictive.
If you like to have a snack throughout the day, which tastes slightly sweet but is also alkalising then I would really recommend the 'Juice in a Bar' snack bars.
They are delicious and contain ingredients like wheat grass, almonds, kamut grass, barley grass plus many more, which are all highly alkalising.
You can have a look at them by clicking here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/item--Juice-Masters-Juice-in-a-Bar-Healthy-Snack-Pack-of-24--JUICEINABAR.html
Keep us updated how you are getting on :0).

Hi Christianedh
Have you started the course yet? I really think you will be fine with the sugar cravings, although I know first-hand that they can be tough!
I've designed the course in a way that weeks one and two transition you away from a whole heap of different things that could lead to cravings and sugar is one of them - so I urge you to give it a go!
In the meantime, if you do have a craving then the pHour Salts can really help physiologically, but not necesarrily psychologically. I personally found that simply eating something else helped tremendously, especially if I liked the food I substituted.
I REALLY enjoy just a piece of sprouted bread or a healthy cracker-type-thing with avocado, tomato and olive oil (and a little S&P). Always a winner for a snack.
The sugar cravings are also often a sign of bacteria/yeast overgrowth, so try starting on a good quality probiotic morning and night (I really recommend our pHion Orange, but it's really up to you!) and have a look at my blog post here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/1504/cure-yeast-infections
I hope this helps. We have just had a lady with Fibromyalgia go through the course and she has been blown away with the benefit she has seen, so keep in touch and I am happy to coach you through the 12 weeks.
Have a great Thursday
Ross
