I've just listened to the Dr Young interview and found it increadibly informative. What I especially liked about it was the gaps that it filled in, and also hammered the point home. For instance, I have been drinking water with lime or lemon in it, as well as the green powder, but failed to notice the importance of drinknig filtered water. the comment on how much more water is absobed because of it was facinating. I have struggled with the increase in water as I have been visiting the toilet many more times a day! I'm even thinking about investing in a filter for home.

Another useful comment was on the suppliments. I have been very confused by the shear volume of suppliments on the website, and have started with only the green powder and the oils. I am not quite sure still on the importance of the clay, and at what stage I should be taking it. I cannot afford to take all of the suppliments so the most important, and the best products would be useful.

I also seem to have been eating too much fruit. I have been having a banana most days as a snack. This is worse than i thought it was! Will cut down on this immediately! I thought bananas were nearly ok!

The other area that I am unsure of still is the issue of salt. I am havent found hymalayan salt yet, but do have sea salt at home. I have been making a dish with lentils and aubergines with a tomato pasata as the sauce and some fresh corriander. However, the pasata does have added salt and acidity regulator. ( i had a load in the cupboard and wanted to use them.) Is this dish bad, good or medium? Its really easy to make and very tasty. there is alot of preperation required for this diet and I would like to find something quick to make at short notice. Is there any way I can improve this recipe to make it more alkaline?

thanks again.

Hi Janni,

I use himalayan salt all the time and have completely stopped using normal table salt. Sea salt is also a healthy alternative to 'ordinary' salt.

With regards to your recipe I would say that 'tomato pasata' in tins always contain added salt and acidity regulators. You can always go round that by buying pasata in glass jars or just use fresh tomatoes instead. This is really the best solution, especially when tomatoes are in season.

The recipe in general sounds really healthy and alkalising, especially if you replace tinned tomatoes for fresh ones or pasata in glasses. To make it even more alkaline you could always add other green veggies like zucchinis or peppers and add various types of seeds like sesame, sunflower or pumpkin seeds. You can always drizzle over some of the Udo's Choice oil too. I mostly drizzle this over veggie dishes and I really like its nutty flavour.

Cheers,

Bibi

Hey

Just to add - you can get it here http://www.energiseforlife.com/cat--Himalayan-Crystal-Salt--HIMALAYANSALT.html!

The recipe sounds medium to medium-good - might try it myself!

Hey ross, thanks for the link.
the dish is very soothing. the aubergines need cooking though as they have a bitter taste otherwise so its not very raw, but the aubergine flavours the sauce too which is very tasty! Doesnt sound like much, but i find it delicous! Especially if you're really generous with the fresh corriander!
