Hi there,

If you want your body to become more alkaline and therefore healthier overall, then there are a few guidelines, which can be summed up as follows:

1) Eat more alkaline foods: These are green vegetables, sprouts, salad, low-sugar fruits, nuts and pulses. the most common ones are broccoli, spinach, courgettes, peppers, beetroot, cabbage, beans just to name a few.
2) Cut out highly acidic food and drinks: These are all high-sugar foods, processed foods, meat, dairy, high-sugar fruits, refined foods and sweets, white rice and pasta, simple carbohydrates, chocolate, fizzy drinks, coffee, table salt.
3) Try to keep a 70/30 alkaline to acid ratio: This means that you should aim to eat about 70% alkalising foods and only 30% acidifying foods. This means that you do not have to give up all your favourite foods completely, but if they fall into the acidic food category then they should only be eaten occassionally and be part of the 30% of acidifying foods.
4) Stay well hydrated: It is really important to drink at least 2-3 litres of alkaline water every day in order to keep your body well hydrated.
5) Exercise on a regular basis: Regular exercise plays an important role in keeping your body alkaline. Good exercises are rebounding, yoga, tai chi, qi gong, etc.

I hope this info gives a quick overview over the Acid/Alkaline diet, but if you have got any other questions please let us know.

Regards

Bibi
