Hi Wendy,

yes these withdrawal symptoms are quite normal if you have been regularly consuming sugar, caffeine, tobacco etc. It is incredible how strong they are and it shows how bad they really are for our health.

You just have to try to be positive in the first part of the course, as there is light at the end of the tunnel. You will soon realise that the longer you are on the course and the more you will have switched to a more balanced alkaline diet, your cravings for these highly acidifying things will become less and less.

I have researched cravings like sugar cravings in Dr Young' s literature and he writes that your body is generally craving sweets because you are not giving it the mineral salts that it needs. He also states that once you start drinking and eating alkaline food and particularly eating unprocessed mineral sea salts that your acidic sugar cravings will eventually disappear as I wrote above.

You have already made a great start in signing up to the Alkaline Lifestyle course as it has been designed to gently transition your diet to a more balanced and alkaline diet, which should then in turn reduce your sugar cravings as you are cutting out all high sugar foods and drinks whilst being on the course.

It might not happen instantly but following the course is a great start and you should definitely see and feel the health benefits pretty soon.

With regards to alkalising supplements that reduce especially your sugar cravings as Dr Young suggests, I would recommend the 'Young pHorever Mineral Salts', which is an alkalising seasoning for your foods. You can look at it here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/item-...HLAVOR8oz.html

In order to find a healthy substitue for the caffeine you can have a look at the 'AlkaHerb alkalising tea', which tastes really nice and is very healthy too. http://www.energiseforlife.com/item-...-ALKAHERB.html

I hope the info helps and I am sure that you will get through this and that these withdrawal symptoms will eventually disappear!

Regards,

Bibi

Hi Wendy,

I completely agree with you that there is a lot of contradicting information about alkalising out there.

This is why we base the majority of our information on the research of Dr Robert Young, who is one of the pioneers in the field of the 'Acid-Alkaline Diet'. He has been researching for over 25 years in this field and is therefore one of the most well known experts around.

As you have pointed out below, there is a lot of contradicting information around particularly about alkaline and acidic foods. Some people claim for example that most fruits are 'alkalising', whereas all high-sugar fruits are 'acidic' according to Dr Young.

As I have mentioned above, we base our food ph charts on Dr Young's research. You can have a look at our food pH charts by clicking here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/food_ph.php

If you would like to have very comprehensive food pH charts then I would recommend to read Dr Young's book called 'The pH Miracle: Balance your Diet, Reclaim your Health' book. It lists all the major foods and categorises them into 'acidic' and 'alkaline' forming foods.

I hope this info helps you a bit.

Regards,

Bibi

I'm really looking forward to beginning the program as soon as possible...!

Hi Kym,

You can get the psyllium husks from Energise for Life by clicking here:

http://www.energiseforlife.com/item-...REE--HUSK.html

With regards to the almond meal you should be able to get it from supermarkets like Sainsbury or Waitrose. Waitrose offers are very good online shopping service. You can have a look at it here:

http://www.ocado.com/webshop/startWebshop.do

I found another good website which sells 'buckwheat groats'. You can have a look at the website called G Baldwin & Co, who spe******e on natural products:

http://www.baldwins.co.uk/

I hope this info helps.

Cheers,

Bibi

Default Welcome to the alkaline course forum

HI Alkaline water has a higher pH level than normal tap water. Some proponents say that alkaline water can neutralize acid in your bloodstream, boost your energy level and metabolism, and help your body absorb nutrients more effectively.
