I am wanting to buy a system (counter top) to use for cooking & drinking. What do these name brand home systems do and what is the difference and which one “does it all”?

Thank you!
Brian Kauffman………… Why not share the Brand of spring water with all of us instead of keeping your secret a secret????????
Info……… question…….. and an update on Berkey
They’ve just been practicing up to a year or two ago, but DeeCee is accelerating its war on ethical farmers, organic foods, private veggie gardens, supplement retailers and supplement manufacturers…. Using their gangs of FeeMaw goons to harass, steal and destroy good people and their supplies.
Ergo, I cannot find pHion drops for my water anywhere where I live. The Canuck Guv blocks US supplement supplies to retailers in Canaduh!
Is there ANYONE who has shopped the web and found a very affordable price for pHion from web vendors???????? And pH papers.
Pls reply with your web leads: hrdrthnhubbiz@yahoo.com
More notes about the Berkey water filters…………………..:
Their filters can clean virtually everything from water, including heavy metals, flouride(ine),Pb, Hg, and other nasties.
I think that it leaves in the beneficial elemental ions, But I am just not certain.
Your water can be City supply, rainwater collections, pond water, rivers, lakes and streams……. Ditches also in theory, snow-melt.
Check on this product, Ross…
Hey Ross,
First i would like to say that all the work your doing here is much appreciated…..I have never felt better and healthier!
I usually like having some form of caffeine beverage in the morning to start off the work day (coffee, tea), but I’m thinking most if not all are acidic. Ive been reading that green tea is slightly alkaline forming. Is this true?
Ross, We have a 5 stage reverse osmosis filter and a distiller. Is it possible to use your recommended ionizer with these? How?
Ross,
Enjoyed the video about water quality and downloaded the pdf file! Great stuff!
BTW: I’m 51 years old and have been generally healthy most of my life, until recently. Only 8 weeks ago I was overweight at 232 pounds and was experiencing a multitude of health problems. I was on 9 different prescription drugs and my health problems still kept getting worse. Finally fed up by the situation, I decided to look for alternatives to mainstream healthcare. After finding your website (among others) and consulting with a nationwide health food expert, I started the alkaline diet along with a regimen of Candida killing enzymes, probiotics and other specific dietary supplements to improve my health. I also hadn’t been to my chiropractor at all in 6 months, and started having adjustments twice a week. NOW ONLY 8 WEEKS LATER, I have lost about 30 pounds, all of my health problems have either gone away completely or diminished significantly, and I feel more vibrant and full of energy than I have in years! And I am completely medication free as well!
As you pointed out in your video, I contribute a great amount of my success to becoming more hydrated as part of the alkaline diet. I started by drinking several glasses of tap water morning and evening, and several bottles of unfiltered spring water during the day while at work. My prostate problems were the first thing to go. I no longer have any pain and I’m urinating like a kid again! Realizing my need for better water, however, I recently started testing the pH of several brands of bottled spring water. I found an amazingly cheap brand of natural unfiltered spring water that actually had an alkaline pH of about 8 (all others I’ve tested so far have been acidic), but it tasted terrible. So I started adding about 1/4 teaspoon of 100% natural lemon juice (and even more recently adding a little Aloe Vera juice as well) which brought the pH down to a neutral 7, but added the alkalizing effect of the lemon juice during digestion so I felt it was a good compromise. After watching this latest video, however, I see a definite need for improvement again to take advantage of ORP. I don’t know how to test for ORP, so I guess I’ll have to dig deeper into my wallet and buy an ionizing filtration system at some point. In the meantime, maybe I can convince my wife to pay a little extra for the filtered 9.5pH bottled water. Each step I’ve taken has been an improvement from the last, and I’m definitely seeing the improvement in my health!
Thanks again for all the wonderful videos and newsletters, and for remaining passionate to the cause!
Blessings to you, and have a wonderful Christmas!
Healthfully Yours,
Brian Kaufmann

Hey Brian
Thanks SO much for sharing this – what an INSPIRATION you are!
Have a fantastic weekend and do keep in touch!
Ross
Hi Ross,
I invested in the pH MIRACLE Ionizer Mark I after watching your very first video about a month and a half ago. I love my new PH balanced water and it has definitely made a difference in how I feel. I try to follow your 80/20% rule (as much as possible) and have definitely lost weight. I’m still not where I want to be but I will continue to follow your plan until I get there.:) I’m sure if I added a daily or weekly exercise plan it would help. I work long hours every day and it is so hard to make myself either get up earlier to go work out or do it after a long day at work but I am trying to take more walks and figure out a way to motivate myself.
My queston for you, after watching this video, is…does my new Mark I Ionizer, when drinking the 3rd section of alkaline water, also give the water a negative ORP? I could probably go back and read the instruction manual but wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much I’ve enjoyed your videos and how much I appreciate all you are doing to help us get healthier, and I figured you would already know this answer.
You are AWESOME….Thank You so much,
Teena
Hi Teena
Yes it does! Did you get a Chanson DVD with the ionizer? Note, the pH Miracle Mk1 is a Chanson machine so you can get support from Chanson USA too.
Thanks
Ross
p.s. shame you didn’t get one from me
I thank you enough about what you have done. I am so glad someone else it saying some of the things I have been saying but it sinks through more for my friends when it comes from someone else. I can’t wait to learn more from you and you are a real inspiration.
Thank you
Ruth
Thanks so much Ross. I’ll like to know how to get a negative ORP in my water. and also if it is alright to combine the use of lemon and the Sodium bicarbonate in a day.
All answered in video 3! It’s coming on Mon/Tues!
will like to know where to get a filter that does all the work you talked about in your vedio
What kind of filter and or water are you suggesting to use. I am assumingthat you will be speaking about water ionization systems, but what kind of water and pre filter should be used?
Hi Ross
In Colchester Essex UK our tap water via a Britta filter jug has a ph of 8.0 much of the time. From reading the comments here I think that is unusual for tap water generally but very very welcome.
Hi Ross In the super markets they sell concentrated Lemon and concentrated lime juice also dried parsley Which I have been using with fresh spinach cucumber cellery and a little bit of tumeric to make my green smoothy drinks. Am I right to use these concentrates or would you insist that I only use fresh lemons or limes?
Can you send me al link to the product so I can check it out?
All very interesting. My daughter has a complete system which I can’t afford at present, So I fill glass bottles and thermos flasks with alkaline water each day. Each cotainer is filled to the brim with little or no air remaining. How long does it remain alkaline under those conditions? It’s used within 24-36hrs
Thank you
Hi
pH lasts about 2 weeks, ORP about 8 hours.
Cheers
Ross
Thanks Ross The hydration story is so interesting!! I had already started taking 500ml lemon water first thing in the morning but still crave chocolate so am looking forward to hearing the rest of your videos. I had heard that sodium bicarbonate was good to take but was very wary about taking it without the knowledge about what the effects might be, so you have answered my question and will only take one glass. Kind regards Barbs
Hey Barbs!
The craving for sugar is often a craving for salt from the body. I recommend using Himalayan salt in your cooking or look into Dr Young’s pHlavor Salt Spray – this is great for sugar cravings. This should help! We also crave sugar when our blood sugar drops, which can occur after large meals, but the more alkaline you get the less this will happen.
Also if you have any yeast/candida in the digestive system you can get sugar/carb cravings until this goes – again alkalising your diet will do this.
Cheers
Ross
Hi Ross, you mentioned in your video not to drink bottled water in europe. I live in the U.S. Is bottled water ok here. I drink purified, not spring. I usually buy disanti brand and always add lemon. There is NO money in our budget right now for an ionizer. Any tips from you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Pattie
Bottled water is the same worldwide.
IF you can’t afford an ionizer right now I recommend a filter – it will save you heaps on bottled water and you can then use the savings for the ionizer!
Ross
Ross
i could not watch the video because i am using the computer from work, so we are denied access to videos on website.
i suggest that for some info. that you are giving on the video, for some of us, maybe if possible, you can put it in print so that we can just read.
Thank you!
Hi Ross,
You had me worried there for a moment with the “go to the buy now button” comment early in the video…funny
. I have been alkaline for a few months now and really enjoying the benefits. I use a jug to filter my water and try to do my lemon water every morning. I have rosacea and it is getting better, decreased inflammation for sure, but my skin is not as clear as I want it. I do notice huge improvements in my health when I drink more water. Where I am finding difficulties is with cravings of sugar and chocolate. Any suggestions for “treats”? Currently my go-to treat is almond butter on a rice cake. Also I was wondering where corn sits on the alkaline scale. ie. corn tortilla’s and corn tortilla chips (few ing, and organic).
Thanks for the ongoing inspiration!
Christine
Hi Christine
The craving for sugar is often a craving for salt from the body. I recommend sprinkling just a little Himalayan salt on your almond butter snack. This should help! We also crave sugar when our blood sugar drops, which can occur after large meals, but the more alkaline you get the less this will happen.
Also if you have any yeast/candida in the digestive system you can get sugar/carb cravings until this goes – again alkalising your diet will do this.
Corn is not alkaline unless it is fresh from the plant.
Thanks!
Ross
Hello,
This may be a silly question but it’s not completely clear in the video. Are you suggesting starting the day with lemon water AND drinking sodium bicarbonate in a glass of water once a day or are you recommending one OR the other. To be clear is it ok to do both or should you pick one.
Thanks,
Mike
Hi Mike – one or the other really.
We get our water from a bore on the farm which has iron in it. We aerate the water and then filter it to get the iron out . That then goes to the house. We drink water which has then been through an Amway water filter. We use drops and drink Lemon water and try to eat alkaline but frequently fall off the band wagon!
Is our water OK?
Hi Christine – so hard to say without testing it I’m afraid! I would definitely send a sample away for testing to be sure.
My wife was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor in December 2010. After its resection and subsequent chemo/radiation over the next few months, there seemed to be no effect, and the tumor review board recommended our doctor pass her the local contact for Hospice.
I immediately purchased an alkaline water filter/generator (Chanson), and changed our diets to a much more alkaline one. Now, nearly 18 months later, my wife is still alive, AND her tumor has been continually shrinking with some of the cancer tissues turning into scar tissue.
Our doctor considers her to be a ‘miracle’ as Kelly is her longest living glioblastoma patient in her care. I attribute it to going alkaline . . . I say this so that others can value the effects of an alkaline diet.
One intriguing benefit to creating alkaline water is that the by product is a light acid water that has fantastic softening effects to your skin when applied topically (splashed on my face in the morning after my shave for example). It leaves your skin ‘baby bottom’ soft! We have found other benefits as well as we experimented with cleaning/soaking vegetables in strong 10+ PH, and cooking with 9+ PH water in all our dishes requiring water. EXCELLENT!
Thanks SO much for sharing this Etienne – I truly appreciate it and wish you continued success.
Hi Ross, Thank you very much for the beneficial information always. I would like to know what is the best filteration system; for example, Reverse Osmosis puls blocked carbon? Yoshimi
Hi!
Thanks so much for this video! I am a reflexologist working at a cancer support centre in Ontario. I am amazed that most cancer patients I treat have not been given any guidance regarding a diet that would include cancer-fighting foods and, especially that sugar should be avoided. I then teach them about the need to balance their system through eating more alkaline foods and less of those that are acidic.
I remember the first time I visited a naturopath, she advised me first thing in the morning, to have a cup of warm water with squeezed lemon in it. This should be, if possible, on an empty stomach. It took some convincing for me to believe that a very acidic fruit would change its mind once it arrived in my stomach and decide to become alkaline! My family and I have been drinking filtered water for some time now, and the taste certainly is better. We even give it to the dog!
Keep up the good work you are doing.
Hey Bruce!
It is amazing how little nutrition is focused on in these situations – even if not in place of certain treatments I would love to see the situation where people are at least advised on nutrition to go alongside and support their treatment!
Thanks for getting in touch – and keep up the good work!
Ross
EXCELLENT.
Hi Ross,
We have a Reverse Osmosis Filter, is this the bsest type of filter to have?
Cheers
Steve
Hey Steve
I go through all of this in video 3 which I hope to have ready by Monday.
Thanks
Ross
Ross, I love you
Lemon water.. no, Lemon Water. Not sure if this would be on interest for your work, but in Russia they always try drink room temperature lemon water when it is very cold or very hot outside. This is to increase immune system response. Not because of the vitamin C content, but because “this way water gets into the blood better, helping it clean the body” – is what the grandmas say. Kind of makes total sense, no? There are also certain plants used for this purpose, but lemons are easier to acquire in 21st century (plus, they’re yummy).
Best regards!!
Hey Euginia
Thanks for the love! Straight back at ‘cha! Amazing to hear stories like this of these old wives tales that have basically been telling people to get alkaline for centuries!
“this way water gets into the blood better, helping it clean the body” – EXACTLY
Ross
Ross, thanks very much for your work, effort and information. You will be blessed. This is so important for the individuals in this world.
Alex.
Thanks so much Alex!
Hi
What happens if you consume too many antioxidantsß
It seems to make sense, that our Body also Needs the oxidants – immune System ect.
there should probably be some Kind of a Balance.
So how do I know how much of the good stuff I am supposed to drink?
Also all People are different
thank you
regards
ingo
Hi Ingo
The body needs balance in all areas. Having said that it is incredibly difficult to over consume antioxidants. In the same way as it’s practically impossible to over-alkalise.
It’s not something you’ll ever have to worry about.
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross
thank you for another interesting video on water. I am currently using a reverse osmosis plus Dr Young’s PH drops in my water plus Chlorophyl. I am still not losing weight but suspect that I am not drinking enough water. I know that ionised water is the way forward but I’m not sure I can persuade my hubbit to ditch the expensive RO filter for an expensive Ionising one!! Any suggestions.
Also I just wanted to give you some professional advice. I notice that you wear black for your videos. Black is a difficult colour to wear. It can make the wearer look tired, peeky, unhealthy etc. Although I am not suggesting you look any of these things, I know from experience your colouring would benefit from wearing colours other than black! If you want to look your best on your roadshows, videos, photos etc to really emphasise the health benefits of alkalising, I would suggest you get help from someone like me, to learn what colours (and styles) will make you look your best and someone worth listening to. It makes the path smoother if you look like ‘one’ eg professional, health expert, etc.
You can come and see me in Warrington, Cheshire or I can recommend someone closer to where you live.
In support and best wishes
Lynda May (www.houseofcolour.co.uk/lyndamay)
Hey Lynda
Very interesting! First water, then colour…
OK, you can absolutely keep your RO and use with an ionizer, you just need a remineralisation cannister installed between them. This puts the alkaline minerals back into the RO water which enables the ionizer to ionize. What you get with this set up is the best possible filtration AND the antioxidants and alkalinity. It’s an awesome set up. I’ll email you some more info.
For the colour – that’s so interesting! I actually live in Australia – but am shooting more videos all the time – so I’d love to hear your feedback on them as they come out! What about green for me? Or blue?
Ross
Dear ross
Awesome news you gave for us , So instead of lemon can we use Orange , and if any possibilities that Citrate salts can deposit in the kidney , and though lemon has organic acid how its shows alkaline properties can you explain please
Hi Aniz
I will try to answer based on what I understand you’re asking:
1) lemon is digested as alkaline because of the alkaline mineral content of the lemon and the lack of sugar in the fruit
2) you can use orange but lemon and lime are much better
3) the kidney can handle this level of citrate very easily. It’s the equivalent to eating one piece of citrus fruit every 4 days.
Thanks
Ross
Enjoying the information. Looking forward to next video. I am a traveling salesman, so need to find something that is easily transported, so I can filter my water.
thanks,
Craig
Hi Craig
If you get an ionizer – the ionization/pH holds in the water for about 2 weeks, so you could take this on the road each day. If you’re out of the home for several days at a time I recommend the Alkaline Jug – google Energise Alkaline Jug.
This gives nowhere near the benefit of the ionizer but it is transportable.
Thanks
Ross
In the place where I live, lime is more common to get. Is it alright if I do alkaline water with lime instead of lemon?
Best Regards.
Alfred
Totally. Go for it.
How much lemon should be squeezed into a glass of water to render it alkaline?
How much lemon water is it safe to consume in a day?
And is alkaline water suitable for children?
Thanks so much!
Larissa
Hi Larissa
I use about 1/3 lemon in 500-700ml – it doesn’t have to be scientific, just a squeeze of whatever you’ve got! It is safe to have a few times per day.
For children I have a few questions for you:
1) how old are they
2) how is the water being made alkaline (drops, minerals, lemons, ionizer etc)
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross, I cannot open the missing piece, and therefor cannot find out how much lemon one should put into 500 ml of water.
Cheers,
Edgar Hutchings
Go for 1/3 lemon or 1/4 lemon in 500ml.
Cheers
Good video, just a bit long to get the point across.
I am drinking ionised water, and eating 50% raw, still lacking energy, what factor does stress play?
My husband has been battling cancer for 1 1/2 years now and this has made me exhausted. I imagine without the water, I’d probably be in bed all day.
Stress plays a huge role, it really does.
How many serves of green foods are you getting per day and are you exercising? Also check out these breathing exercises: http://www.energiseforlife.com/tony_robbins_vital_breathing.php
Ross
Hi Ross,
How long does it take to turn the body around if it has too much acid?
Rp
Very variable – depends on how your diet is before you start and what you do to change it.
I live in the Mountains of Tennessee and wondered if mountain spring water is okay to drink without filtering.
Hi Lisa – possibly. It’s hard to know without testing it. Can you get a water report from your local water supplier?
I appreciate you. Pls how do I alkalise my water with lime instead of lemon? I personally prefer lime. So what quantity do I use in what amount of water?
Lime is fine – 1/3 to 1/4 in 500ml
Hi Ross
I live up the road from your warehouse in Wellingborough. I bought the filter jug and some pH stix and have experimented with pH levels. I’ve found that by just using the filtered water in tea (ok I know I need to drink more of the plain water!) my pH levels have risen. Another alkaline website says that the ideal urine test on the stix should be between 5.8 and 6.8. Do you agree with that? My stix reading have gone up from about 4.5 to about 5.75 in general, the only difference being that I am using your filter jug.
I have bad acne particularly around my whole nose (despite the fact that I am a female of 65??!!) to the extent that it was investigated by the hospital in case I had basal cell carcinoma. After a biopsy I’m told I have no cancer but do have chronic inflammation. In fact I had quite a bit of the severe acne condition called rhinophyma. This is now receding weekly, especially since using the jug filtered water; the only other thing I have been using in addition to the jug filtered alkaline water – so I can’t know if the good result is down to the more alkaline water I’m taking in – is that I am using home therapy with both a Far Infrared Sauna blanket and a hand-held infra-red lamp over my face and nose skin. I’m telling you all the above to give you feedback of health conditions. I do have one question though: when first using the filter jug, the instruction is to shake the water for a couple of minutes – do I need to shake the water each and every time I re-fill? For me, with arthritis, it is not that easy. Keep up the good work! June
Hi June
Great you’re so close! Well done on integrating the water into your life – you’ve obviously started well with the jug and it’s starting to show results, but I can tell you’re pretty keen to clear up the acne too.
The trouble with pH strips is they are so variable depending on how you use them and when you use them – I recommend only using them if you can do so under the same conditions each day, otherwise it’s waaay to misleading. My suggestion is to test first thing in the morning, before you’ve consumed anything for the day. At this stage 5.8 – 6.2 is good and 6.2+ is great. If you get anywhere near 6.8 on that first urine you’re going great guns.
For the acne I would seriously consider buying a Chanson Ionizer (I’ll send more info on this soon). It gets you far greater filtration than the jug but also a pH that is much stronger. The other two awesome benefits of it are a) that you also get water that is a strong antioxidant which is great for acne internally and b) you can make strong ACID water with it too, which when sprayed topically on acne is unbelievably effective.
It’s also brilliant for arthritis too, to drink the ionized water.
I really think it’s a good consideration for you.
Keep up the sauna too – these are fantastic for both!
Ross
p.s. don’t worry about the vigourous shaking of the jug either, just let it sit for a couple of minutes.
I am following the alkaline diet but my ketostrips are very rarely showing any strong colours. What else can I do?
Hi Wendy
With such little info it’s impossible to help! What are you currently doing?
Ross
thank you for the videos i really appreciate it .please keep up the good work thank you again
Keeping up with comments as quickly as I can guys
It’s 10pm here now in Australia so I will resume again in 6-8 hours!
Please can you tell me how much lemon to a 8oz glass of water?
So 8oz is about 230ml, so I would say about a quarter of a lemon. Don’t worry about being too scientific or specific with it
dear Ross,
I am hesitate to use tap water even it is filtered and balanced, because our tap water is recycled and water has a memory and I believe it contained all the illness and medicated effects peoples’s kidneys have left on it. so I use bottled water, please correct me if I am thinking wrong. thanks.
Hi Najma
That’s pretty deep and there could ultimately be some truth in it. Personally, I don’t have enough faith in that belief to drink bottled water instead. I think that water that has been crashing through nature, even if it ultimately ends up back in a tap system, is better than bottled, which has been sitting in plastic for 6-18 months or more.
But that’s just my opinion!
Ross
Hi I have two questions I would like to ask you:
1. I use your PH Dr. Young’s drops in tap water. Is this correct or does tap water need to be boiled cooled and then add drops?
2. I have your Alkaline Diet Receipe book which I am using more and more and I also make your coconut bread cake which is delicious do you have any other alkaline cake receipes please. Thanks Pam
Hi Pam
I strongly, strongly advise to filter your water, even if you’re using pH drops. The pH drops will raise the alkalinity but the water will still contain nasties. Boiling and cooling is not the best idea. It removes some bacteria but does not address other toxins, and it is quite impactful energy wise to boil all of your water. I recommend getting some level of filtration. There is more on this in the video #3.
For question #2 – alkaline cakes do not really exist to be honest. You can do a little with coconut and a little with sweet potato/pumpkin…but not a lot more I’m afraid!
Ross
Hi Ross,
Will alkaline water above 7.365 be carried through the blood to body cells ?. As I read somewhere that the blood is so critically balanced that it will alter any thing out of the 7.365 range.
Can you please advise.
Regards. Joe.
Hi Joe
That’s 100% exactly true. The aim is not to alkalise the blood by eating or drinking alkaline things – it’s to consume the alkaline things to support the body’s efforts to keep the blood at this level. Constantly consuming acid-forming foods and drinks has a huge impact on the body, but the biggest impact is the stress it causes the body in trying to buffer the acids to maintain this 7.365 as you say, which is critically balanced. The short term gain of keeping the balance leads to HUGE damage to be done in the medium to long term.
Hope this makes sense! In short – you’re not trying to alter the pH of the blood and other fluids – you’re trying to give your body the tools it needs to do that.
Thanks
ROss
Unanswered message I sent you on 21.03.2012:
“Ross,
I find contradictory information on tomatoes: you list them as alkaline while I find several other authors stating the contrary (the last two I recall, for example: Roger Manson and Allen S. Chips).
Can you suggest a way to ascertain positively who’s right ?
Thanks and congratulations for your excellent work.
Eugenio, Venice, Italy”
Hi Eugenio
People who state tomatoes are acidic are doing so based on their natural state, outside of the body. And this is true. They are. But once consumed, like lemons and limes, they have an alkaline-forming effect within the body. This is largely due to their alkaline mineral content:
potassium
molybdenum
manganese
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross – I have a question about water.
We have an artesian well from 50-60m under the ground (borehole in a fissure). We have three types of water on our small farm – first the water coming up from the ground which is microbe free but is full of iron. Secondly the water from our main taps which is treated with sodium and backwashed to remover the iron and things like aluminium. Third the water from a counter top reverse osmosis tap which removes the sodium which has been added! All three waters are alkaline! Obviously you cannot fully predict everything about our water but do you have any opinion on whether our water sounds a decent option. We are all fit except after a trauma I had a bit of a health battle a year ago – we are (trying to) follow an alkaline diet based on the allotment and thank you for all your tips!
Hey Debbie
Really hard without testing, but if you’re getting the water RO’d then that removes EVERYTHING so it’s definitely safe for drinking. How are you testing the pH?
Ross
Hi.
I’m writing from South Africa, so don’t have access to a number of things you talk about, ph drops being the main one. If I can find them, they are so prohibitively expensive, I just can’t afford them.
However, I am desperate. I have a condition called Super Hyperacidosis. At least that is what is called in SA. I had tests done (computers with wired into my stomach being the most important (and yuckiest) one. A normal count was about 18-25. Mine was over 400. I am on chronic medication to bring my acid levels down and can’t eat many things. They removed my gall bladder to help about 10years ago. I’m not sure it did help, but apparently the 7 ulcers I have now would have been far worse.
Firstly, can you help with some advice of what I can do and possibly tell me where there are some local distributors of your products.
By the way, I see on your alcaline diet, tomatoes are considered alcaline. If I eat them, my acid levels go so high I have acid reflux so bad it actually burns my sinuses.
Anyway, anything you could do to help would, literally, be a life saver.
Regards
Tara
PS. Just for the record. I have tried many things and have come up against so many people that are just trying to make a fast buck that I really don’t want to go through this again. The last miracle drug I tried landed me up in hospital with bleeding ulcers. If you and your alcaline diet really can’t help me, please just say so and I’ll try something else. My life is hell enough as it is
Hi Tara
Sadly, I nor any other website in the world can offer advice about medically diagnosed conditions.
So sorry
Ross
merci
Hi ross we live in galway ireland and collect rain water that is then heat filtered so our water is soft does this mean it is alkaline and if yes can i still use the lemons in the water as it tastes better for me .
also what happens if you drink too much alkaline water is that toxic as well like acid water
thanks for all you information and most of all the truth not advertising jargon
Hi Christine
It’s hard to know without testing it, but if it were alkaline you can still add the lemons if you like! It would be more for a flavour thing at this stage, but why not – lemon water tastes good!
It’s incredibly hard to over alkalise and if you did your body would adjust just like it does when you over-acidify. Let’s face it 99% of people are being over-acidic every single day, so being over alkaline once or twice by accident would not be a big issue!
Ross
Hi Ross, really I travel a lot and for me it is very difficult to drink other water than plastic bottle of water so, coud you tell me what a I have to do in cheap way to reduce my acidity from my body and what I have to do from now on straight a way.
Thank you
Maria from Tenerife well, now I´m Usa ( Florida) since yesterday for two month.
Millions blessing for you and family
Hey Maria
The best thing is to make good quality water at home and take it with you in a glass bottle like this: http://www.reusablebottle.co.uk/index.php?crn=225&rn=495&action=show_detail
Ross
Hi
Just wanted to know – how much freshly squeezed lemon juice should be going into the 500 ml of warm water please?
About 1/3 to 1/4
Ross
First- Thank you for this great info! We have RO water at home and we are adding Trace mineral drops, what else should we add? Thank you in advance
Sounds good – at least you’re getting the minerals back into the water! Check my video on Monday…
I am dealing with Multiple Sclerosis and found that alkaline foods help but I am looking forward to increasing my water and making sure it is alkalizing. I really enjoyed the video and await the next few.
Diane
Hi Ross,
Thanks for all the information. I drink lemon water with a bit of cayenne pepper on a regular basis and haven’t been drinking tap water for years. We have a water filter but I’m sure we could improve. PH of the water from that filter is a little above 6.0 so yes too acidic. I look forward to the next videos. I have question. We have lived in Colorado for the past 4 years (Just moved back to Canada) For the last one and a half year we got the water from Manitou Springs. There are 9 springs and you could fill up for free. Water came out of the mountains. It is said that the native tribes considered this water as sacred. It was also said that it was full of minerals and all the “goodies” so we definitely drank up big time. The alkalinity of the water was 8.0. I couldn’t believe it when I tested it and dipped at least 5 sticks into it to make sure I was seeing it right. The taste was a bit “mineraly” but pretty soon we got used to drinking it and we really liked it. It was slightly carbonated and you could make a wonderful lemonade with it during the summer. Drinking this water was also controversial. Some people told me that they got kidney stones from it. I took that with a grain of salt. You can get kidney stones from so many things. One of my health practitioners also had her reservations about it. She thought you could build up mineral deposits if you would drink this water in big quantities (which we did). Up to today I don’t know if we have done ourselves a favor by drinking this water. I’m not sick or anything but what is your opinion?
Thanks
Are you going to talk about adding pH drops to RO filtered water next and how do I find your next videos as am presently reading Robert Young’s book and buying 4l jugs of alkalized water?
I have GERD, and am on a tight budget. What would be the best solution for someone like me to use instead of lemon, or would lemon still be okay to use. If some/most fruits and vegis are acidic, then what could I posibly eat if I have GERD…
My young son has Lupus will this help him also.
Thanks for your time.
Juanita
If you don’t use a filter, you ARE a filter.
Hi,
I started to try and make my water more alkaline.
I’ve been adding some PH drops I got from Swanson Vitamins to
help make my water alkaline.
I have been noticing headaches the last few days.
Is this normal?
Thanks,
Randy
what about boiled water Chris.
Due to Barret’s esophagus, I am unable to take lemon anything. It actually burns my esophagus as it goes down. What can I do?
G’day Ross,
Love the work you are doing… I don’t believe in Karma but I do believe in cause and effect.
I think you are quite right… we stop and think how many teaspoons of (toxic and acidifying) sugar we put in our (dehydrating) coffee(s) each day and we go WOW 14.65 Kg per annum…
Now think about 365 day of 3 litres a day of H20 (plus the nasties), well that could be over a 1.000 litres of consumption… surely we should sit up and THINK about the quality of water we consume as you have put the case forward so clearly.
But taking it a step further… think about a negative ORP of 150 from tap or bottle water and a POSITIVE ORP of say 150 from quality alkaline water… that is now a difference to your body of 300 ORP!
That is significant…. REALLY!
Again, love the work you are doing here.
Cheers (a glass of filtered and high alkaline water of course!)
John
Hi Ross,
Nice work!
Can you have the ‘Green Drink’ with a filtration jug – instead of just water?
Also, how do you anti-oxidise the water?
Thank you for your time.
Great video Ross – I’ve just switched my food regime to create more balance in my food intake between acid and alkaline. I have a great water filtering method – fill a solid blue glass bottle from tap and place in the sun for at least 2 hours. The sun filtered water is smooth, great taste with no chemical after taste – thanks to our beautiful ‘free sun’. For my morning drink I place lemons in the water and it tastes great. I’ve also heard of the 1/2tsp bicarbonate of soda which also works well.
Thanks for bringing this information into our awareness and being the caring person that you are without all the sales pitch which would indeed turn me off!
I want to known what water filter and solutions to being healthy and drinking the right water.
Hi Ross hope you are well!
Sorry i couldn’t open the website to watch the video.
My problem is I’m eating very healthy and exercises regularly but can’t loss any weight , all I need is to loss. 6kg:(
Many thanks!
Hi I should have mentioned that I started drinking alkalised water after being diagnosed with acid reflux. Although this a mild form, it is pretty painful. I take medication and worried that extra lemon might exacerbate the condition.
Hi Joan
If you’re using the jug you don’t need the lemon – it would just be for taste, so try without it and see how you go.
Thanks
Ross
I purchased your energising jug about two months ago. I always put a squeeze of lemon whenever I fill the jug. I am using too much lemon
Replied on your other comment
IS IT ALRIGHT TO USE BOTTLE LEMON JUICE?
Thank you!
Hey Les
It’s better than nothing, but fresh is miles better.
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross
I have just started the alkaline diet on Monday this week and was doing it slowly as you suggested. To compliment this I sent for the Mega greens to start me off. I decided to only make a lite and had a pint in the morning and the remainder when I came home. On Wednesday before I had the second pint and at the gym working out I had a migraine start and went home ill. The following day I had my second pint and within approx a couple of hours I had another migraine and had to go to bed and felt worse that the day before. Due to this I have not taken any today and whilst my head has not felt right, dull ache, I am relucant to take any more. Can you tell me I am doing wrong please.
Kind regards
Sue
followed by another yesterday evening.
Hi Sue
Not doing anything wrong. What other changes have you made? Have you cut anything like sugar or caffeine down? What are you eating? The cause of this could be any (or a combo) of the following:
1) cutting back on caffeine, sugar, yeasts etc could cause this very easily
2) eating too litte – a common mistake when people first start to alkalise can also cause this
3) detoxing symptoms – headaches are classic when people first start to detox, and the megagreens would accentuate this.
I suggest either cutting back to 1/2 scoop per litre if it is the greens bringing on the detox too quickly, or if it does not help then it could be the case that you are simply detoxing and need to see it through. Reply here with your basic daily food/drink and exercise on a day when this has happened and I can troubleshoot some more.
Thanks
Ross
The Life ionizers are pretty expensive. I can´t afford anything more expensive than the cheapest one, 5100. Would that be sufficient ?
It will get you pH 9 but I don’t think it has the power/capacity to get your ORP at a good, negative level or get the super strong acid or alkaline water – which is SO beneficial in other ways. Considering that unit is still 80% of the price of a Chanson I would hold off, save up and buy a Chanson.
Hi Ross,
I need your help.
What is the best way to regain the weight lost due to the alkaline diet? I was the perfect slim weight to start with and now just too skinny.
Tried avocado’s and hemp powder in the Doc Broc’s but it didn’t work so having to overload on rice as a last resort.
I know of other naturally thin people with this problem. This diet seems to have everything that is healthy except how not to lose weight when you don’t need to.
I would greatly welcome advice.
Julia.
Hi Julia
See here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/2010/08/23/alkaline-diet-muscle-building/
I’m considering a more thorough course on this….
HELP!!!!!!
I live in Central Florida. How/Where do I get alkaline water. I’ve been walking around with a tap water filled, 1/2 gallon BPA free plastic water (with a filter).
Hey Elaine
I recommend watching the remainder of these videos!
Ross
Are there any negative results to a persons health from adding 1/2-1 teaspoon of baking soda every evening to ones diet? Is there a lot of sodium in sodium bicarbonate?
Nope. Not that I have seen, only positives!
It is sodium, but sodium bicarbonate is different from the sodium chloride in the same way that fats such as omega oils are different from trans-fats.
It’s salt thats GOOD for you
Hey after my early morning cardio ( fasted stomach) can i have lemon juice or will it harm me?
Hi Ronald – it’s not going to harm you. Try having it before!
Does an apple turn alkaline when eaten? I eat an apple first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and my pH level reads 7.5. My pH level is usually 7.25 – 8.0 after breakfast and drops during the day until about 5pm to 6.25 and towards bedtime drops to 5.75. I take a quarter teaspoonful of Bicarbonate Sodium (Aluminium Free) just before bedtime about 3 times a week.
I take a super greens drink during the day. Should I continue as I am?
Apples are acidic to the body because of the sugar they contain. One piece of fruit a day is perfectly fine though, when you’re in balance. The apple would make your saliva read alkaline, because it’s reading the apple in the mouth rather than the effect the apple has on your body. That’s the problem with ‘spot’ using pH strips – they only give you part of the picture (a full guide to using pH strips can be found here).
I sounds like you’re doing great from what you’ve said.
Ross
Hello Ross,
I really appreciate your efforts to help all!! I just purchased an Alkastream filtration system and it seems to fulfill all of the requirements you are suggesting. The system cost me $330.00 and it works good. Do you have an opinion on this system?
Keep up the good fight!!
Scott
Hi Scott
It does raise the pH a bit in the same way as our alkaline jug or a biocera would, but doesn’t give filtration at all and the ORP is artificially produced. You won’t get the same ORP benefit as from electrolysis in an ionizer – but that’s a whole other very long article!
For the benefit of an Alkastream – you’d be better off spending 5x less on a Biocera or our alkaline jug as you get the same benefit.
Cheers
Ross
Hi Ross. Looking forward to the further videos but I suspect the answer to this will be to purchase an ioniser? The trouble I have is that whilst eating loads of fresh, raw, organic vegetables, nuts, seeds, oils and whole grains seems very natural and common sense, spending a huge amount of money on a machine that does something very unnatural to water doesn’t feel right. It goes against my sense of a natural and common sense approach to health.
All the best, Dodie
Hey Dodie
It’s a common question – but the ionizer actually completely mimics the process in nature of creating the tiny electrical charge to water when it crashes down streams, springs, waterfalls, against rocks etc. It’s the closest thing you will actually find to nature. FAR more natural than piping water into huge tanks, putting chlorine and fluoride in and then piping into taps OR filling into plastic bottles, storing for months, etc.
The way I see it – unless you live on a completely unpolluted spring, this is the closest you’ll find to nature.
Thanks
Ross
Hi. I cannot afford a very expensive filter system right now and am currently renting a house so woudn’t want to plumb anything in in case we move. I have been using brita filters for my tap water here in ireland but the water here has fluoride added and Brita filters don’t remove this. I have been given a distiller by a friend but am unsure as to the best way to add minerals back and to get the ph of the water up. The other thing I have found on the market that is affordable is this eva filtratuion system. what do you think?
Hi Louise
The good thing is you’re looking for ways to filter – that’s a great start. The Brita does get some stuff out, but it also acidifies the water in the process. Distillers are worse because they actually remove all minerals from the water, make it mildly acidic but ALSO make it have a POSITIVE ORP which means it oxidises the body (i.e. creates free radicals, kills cells etc).
I’d look for another option. In video 3 I go through 7 different options – the vid should be ready by the middle of next week! In the meantime, I’d continue with the brita but add a 1/4 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to each 500ml of water.
Thanks
Ross
I have found a water that is 9.5 alkaline and I have follicular linphoma tell me if is ok thank you
From the info you’ve provided there is no way I can make an assessment.
hi,
my question is: I have for years been drinking filtered water by Brita filters,I added pure
cristals to the container and now I am adding lemon to each glass I drink. I never drink
bottles water as I do not like the fact it was bottled in plastic. I eat as much as I can
alkaline food. I walk 2 hours a day and cycle a lot too. I love eating fruit and have
alternatively a whole fruit day. but now I read that fruit is rather acidic. thank you
for what you have told me already! I am 71 years old, never ill and full of beans!
would like to stay that way till I am at least a 100!! thank you, Tula
Hey Tula
We’re all different and it sounds like you’re doing great. I would try a week where you cut the fruit back and replace with vegetables (pref green) instead and see how you feel?
Keep your omega oil intake up too!
Ross
Hello Ron: I have an 8 stage Santevia water filter. Is this adequate? The literature says “the highly porous mineral stones aid in the oxygenation of water and in the adjustment of water to mild alkaline. How much lemon juice? What to do to add antioxidents
Hey Dale
This is all answered in video three that I should have ready by mid next week
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross, I want to know what happens when you boil or heat your water, does it looses its properties? thank you
It depends on the means by which you’ve made the water alkaline. Ionized water holds it’s pH and ORP but not for as long. It’s fine if you then consume within an hour or two…
Ross,
Where am I going wrong?
I am on an alkaline diet as follows.
On rising I have 1 glass ph 8 from your Chanson Miracle Max and 3 stage filter, with juice of 1 lemon and 1tsp of alkalizing greens and 1 tsp psylium husks followed by another glass of water.
One hour later, for breakfast, I have my evening meal of slow cooker meat and veges with brown rice.
I have a tin of tuna or salmon on corn cruskits for morning tea and a glass of water.
For lunch I have Quinoa and flaxseed bread with avocado, cucumber, spinach, capsicum, celery and mayonaise. Plus 1 teaspoon psyllium husks in water, followed by another glass of water, and 1 banana
For afternoon tea, 4pm I have almonds and fruit, or avocado and roma tomato on corn cruskits.
For dinner I have Quinoa porridge made with rice milk.
With all this I cant get my ph above 6.8 ranging up from 5.8. I have sufficient water to keep my urine almost clear.
Please help me
Trevor
Hey Trevor
The good news is that it sounds like you’ve got some AWESOME and really difficult to achieve building blocks already in. The stuff you’ve mastered is the stuff most people find the hardest. I have a few tweaks for you that will make life a LOT easier and also make your pH rise a little more.
But first, and most importantly – HOW DO YOU FEEL?
People get obsessed with the pH readings from strips – but really they’re only meant to be indicative. They are so wildly influenced by the tiniest thing that you could be doing amazingly and one little thing will unwittingly give you a low reading and knock your confidence for six.
Also – how long have you been going? Your urine and saliva could still be acidic because your body is still removing toxins from your body. At any stage you could see a huge leap forwards in your readings.
Anyway, onto some suggestions and questions:
1) there is not actually THAT much green in there – for a few days try having a side salad with the breakfast, lunch and before your quinoa dinner
2) I can’t see any mention of omega 3 in there aside from the tuna or salmon – this is a good source but alone won’t give you enough – try an omega 3 supplement. This is the mistake 99% of people make.
3) can you let me know of any exercise you’re doing
4) what type of meat and what % of the meal is meat vs veggies vs rice
5) when and how are you testing your ph
From here we can diagnose more. Again, you’re doing great – don’t beat yourself up!
Thanks
Ross
Ross, liked your message. I just bought an inoizer and I’m liking it. Because of seeing your websight I have started eating more alkaline vegs. I also bought a juicer to help consume more. I had bariactric surgery and can’t eat alot. The juicer has really helped me do this. I like your message.
Sherry
Thanks Sherry!
I work in a wonderful health food shoppe, when I’m there I drink essentia water which is 9.0ph
I feel so good. I take enough home for the nighttime and weekend. They also have a reverse osmosis water filter machine where the public can refil jugs for .35 cents a gallon, is this any good? So many people are not able to purchase the expensive equipment needed to have the amount of good water they need. Is there a reasonably priced solution? I bought a 5 year filter for my refrigerator that claims it has 5 stage filter. Now after reading about it I think its useless. Anyway we thank wholeheartedly
for helping people-I pass on your website to every customer I talk to at our shoppe. We have several books on alkalinity including Dr. Young.
Thanks Ross
Hey Kathy
I really don’t approve of Reverse Osmosis. Not only is it terribly inefficient and thus environmentally unsound, but it also creates acidic water that has a + ORP, which means it oxidises the body and kills cells.
Sorry for the bad news!
what’s your opinion on kangen water and how expensive it is
‘Kangen’ is the Enagic brand’s way of describing the water their ionizer produces. The Enagic machines are reasonably decent enough, but are in no way worth the more than 2x they cost over other brands. There is absolutely no reason they are more expensive other than the fact that they are a multi-level marketing business and there are more people in the chain to pay. They are not better machines, just more expensive.
Check out Chanson, Life, Tyent and Jupiter.
I have read that ionized water is not good for the body and not a good way to produce alkaline water. Can you explain the difference between an ionizing process and “naturally” alkaline water. Where can NON-ionized alkaline water be purchased or produced at home?
Hi Alan
‘Naturally’ alkaline water can be found in entirely unpolluted springs. If you find one – let me know – I would doubt there is anywhere in the world that is entirely unpolluted now unfortunately. The only people telling you ionized water is not good for you will be selling a competing machine/method. Ionizers take tap water which is unbelievably unnatural and try to return it to naturally alkaline water as much as possible.
Ross
Hi there. Many thanks for all the explanations. However, I am troubled. I had read that lemon is alkaline for metabolisms that work well, but not for those which are slower. For my part lemon or oranges increase the acidity of my body.
Hi Caroline
You have to do what feels right to you. Oranges will always acidify everyone’s body because they are full of sugar.
Thanks
Ross
Begin the day with lemon
Cross out the ‘distilled’ and you’re getting closer
I have sent a few emails but thus far no response I would like to know if there any breakfast foods that i can eat. and i can not get onto the make your own water for 6 cents a day i have got the emails but they will not open for me
Hi Elizabeth
Here is my alkaline breakfast guide.
For the water guide I’ll email it over to you now
Ross
Thanks vvery much, Ross, for the update. Half a lemon?
BioCare make a product called Biocarbonate, not found it yet but have you heard of this? Was wondering if it would be a substitute for pH drops?
Looking forward to hearing about filters – affordable I hope!
Best wishes
Maud
Hey Maud
I use about 1/3 of a lemon in 500ml-1000ml, it’s a rough thing really. Nothing too scientific about it – adjust to taste!
Bicarb could work instead of pH drops – depends on the contentration of ingredients.
Ross
I have been using the Biocera Alkaline Water Jug for my water, is this any good as the reviews on it have been brilliant?
Hi Iain
It’s good for mildly increasing the alkalinity. The filter is OK, but not excellent.
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross. We live on a farm and have well water (non-chlorinated, non-fluoridated). It’s very sulfuric and smelly, and we have to aerate it to get the sulfur gas out, and then we filter it (Britta) before drinking. On top of that, I use pH and ion drops (or lemon juice with a pinch of baking soda when I run out of these). Do you know anything about sulfuric water and whether the sulfur gas makes the water more or less acidic? I’m just wondering whether I’m doing enough. I really can’t afford an expensive filter system right now and have to make do with cheaper methods.
Hey Starr
I really recommend you get the water tested. Highly acidic water smells sulphuric, so it could be pretty iffy.
A water test should not be too expensive but well worth it.
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross,
You’re doing a great job here! Congratulations!
My question: What about kefir? I’ve read that it is very healthy, and I drink kefir almost every day, (AFTER I drink about 1 liter of lemon water).
I know there’s lactic acid contained by kefir, but I’ve read that kefir generate an alkaline reaction inside body. Is it true?
Claudiu
Hey Claudiu
I have heard lots of mixed opinions on kefir. It’s not something I’ll personally do, but try it and see if it works for you. My intuition tells me it’s not alkaline, but it could be good for some if you have digestive issues especially.
Thanks
Ross
Love it~* Thanks for the terrific info. Wish you had a FaceBook like or Social networking share button!
Hey H Raven Rose: http://facebook.com/energiseforlife
Thanks,
Your info. is wonderful.
Thanks Dori!
Hi Mate
Well I would like to know does this alkaline diet blitz all diabetic symptoms and eradicate type 2 for good. Like and admire what you are doing – you are an amazing example of what a civilised and exemplary human being should be.
Keep it up you are apreciated believe me!
Hey Mark!
Thanks so much! Really can’t comment on medically diagnosed conditions I’m afraid, but google pH Miracle diabetes, and look it up on youtube too (same search).
Ross
My experience with alkaline water has been tremendous and I wish more Ghanaians would appreciate this information since some of the bottled water they are wasting so much money in buying are rather the cause of health implications confronting them.No wonder kidney and other organ related health problems are in ascendency. Thanks for the good work you are doing.
Thanks Richard
Hi, just been interested in alkalizing for last few month. Now got the Chanson Water Ioniser ( paying monthly) and the water is great. I live in Corfu where the tap water is about 7ph but quite harsh, now my tap water is smooth, refreshing and I am wanting to drink more with no effort. Just got your book and having salads with everything, but as yet still eat meat and dairy. Hope the water helps anyway and I feel good. But QUESTION – figs – were on your alkaline charrt for a short time. I have trees in my garden – are they good or bad???
Hey Sarah
They do contain sugar, but in moderation they’ll be fine…and delicious! Very jealous!
I just want to learn the secret.
Hi Ross,
Starting the lemon water right now and also having a glass with 1/2tsp bicarbonate of soda to kick start the water revolution. Hoping the next stage is going to be as easy. Nice one.
Thanks Fraser
Unable to view video…just black screen. Do I need to install something special?
Hi Barb – sometimes it just doens’t stream properly – try refreshing later and trying again. Sorry ’bout that.
Hi Ross,
You do a GREAT JOB! I really appreciate it! It helped me a lot.
I wanna ask you if apple vinegar (with or without honey) is acidic or alkalizing inside body?
Thank you,
Claudiu.
Hey Claudiu
Thanks for getting in touch and for your kind words.
ACV is acid forming because it is fermented.
Ross
Good afternoon Ross,
I live in Belgium and would like to know if your products are sold in Europe. If yes, where?
Thank you for your information
Best wishes
Jeanne
Hey Jeanne
Yep – we ship all over Europe – see http://www.energiseforlife.com
We live in the high desert of California just below Mt Whitney. We have our own well 175 feet down. We have had it tested years ago.—–and found it to be excellent!! this isa very small coummunity. We live out of town 2,00 feet higher than the town of Lone Pine itself.
Do you think I might need to improve on it. I know you can’t say until you have researced my well/water.
I wouldlike to make a comment about your video—You talk far too much. If your deal is that good you really shouldn’t have to talk quite that much.
What you say is interesting though.
thanks,
Wilma
Hi Wilma
Without seeing the report it’s hard to say.
Sorry you think I talk too much. I can’t please everyone I guess and from the feedback here I’d say I’m doing an OK job.
Thanks
Ross
You really need to learn to get to the point…..Stop repeating the same old stuff….
Hi Lyle
From reading the comments here I’d say you’re in the minority.
Thanks
Ross
I use water that is carbon filtered. Does this do the trick as far as filtration is concerned?
This is a great start – much better than not filtering that’s for sure! I’ll go into more info in videos 2 and 3 which will be ready very soon!
Ross
I love your website! I always look forward to the videos and information. I’m very interested in water and how it effects the body.
I founded and run a non-profit (Casa de Sara) for kids in South America. We have a school in Bolivia. I’d love to chat sometime on how we can create a better water for the school. We have access to tap water at the school, but its just tap water and its Bolivian tap water, so its obviously not the best. Im wondering, how we can filter it affordably and alkalize it. There are a lot of sand filtration systems and different things you can do to filter water, but after looking at the latest video, Im not sure thats enough. I’d love to hear your thoughts sometime.
Hello!
Everything you say is absolutely true about the importance of Alkaline Water. I look a lot younger than my contemporaries; feel better as well.
I have a daughter who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She and her husband refused to accept a gift of a water system that would alkalinize their bodies about 10 years ago. I haven’t read your Lemon Water Explanation yet, but will do this momentarily. My parents, who lived to be 93 and 101, used to drink a glass of lemon water each evening. Both looked and acted and felt younger than their years. I should have followed their example.
I am going to forward your presentation to my daughter, hoping that she will listen.
I feel that you have a product to market which I haven’t come across yet, but it is amazing and gratifying that what we believe and practice is being promoted from the UK. Good health knows no nationality or borders.
Hey Shirley
Awesome to hear – you are going great! Keep on going!
Ross
What about well water? If the area matters, I live in the mountains of northwest Georgia in the US.
Hi Beth
Impossible to say – you need to get a proper water analysis report done on your well water to make sure its OK. I think Chanson USA can help with this.
Ross
Dear Ross, what filtration system for water do you recommend that is not over $100.? Really would be helpful. Thankyou!
Hey Anita – search the site for ‘alkaline water jug’
This is under $100
My son has Hives for more than a year now. He is aged 31 and he has seen a lot of doctors,
specialist, Chinese doctors, drank a lot of herb tea, allergy pills, did the allergy tests, and he also
tried not to eat some of the foods like beef, peanuts, chickens and others but it still does not work.
He is so frustrated and every night after 10 pm, the hives would come out so much around his whole body, feet, hands, arms, neck back and front of the body, belly and hips and other areas.
So I just want to see how can you help me in this case. We almost try to give up and he spent so much money in massage therapy, acupuncture and some other ways but still don’t work.
We have a filter at home for alkaline water already. So we don’t know what to do. Perhaps you can help me or give him some suggestions. I would appreciate for it.
Hope to hear from you.
HI Bianca
Can you give me an example of his daily diet and let me know what the filter is that you have?
Thanks
Ross
Hi…your video renewed my excitment about alkaline water. I have been drinking alkaline water for about 3 years and absolutely love it! I believe that what I have, is the best water ANYONE can drink! Because the quality of water where I live is not good, it is very hard, I run it through a reverse osmosis process to make it as pure as it can be, then remineralize it and then it runs through my alkaline machine which alkalizes, ionizes and mircoclusters it. I love to see the little bubbles, which makes the water look so alive. I have a few questions tho…do you know if there is a device which can measure the ORP of the water? Also, is there such a thing as drinking too much water as well as drinking the water at too high of a ph? You mentioned taking pure sodium bicabonate, can you tell me what might be a good product to take? I am going on vacation and would like to ph my water when I can. Can you use pure theraputic grade essential lemon oil instead of a fresh lemon? One last thing, could you please give me one, good, powerful paragraph that I could write on my board, (I own a gym and like to write good, helpful info that might help improve their health) that may change their mind about the water they are drinking? I have it available to them but they are not really convinced. Thanks so much! I reallly enjoyed your video!
Hey Sandy
Lots of questions:
1) PINPOINT manufacture an ORP machine you can find online
2) too much water? yes, don’t drink beyond your thirst being quenched but get a min 3 litres/day
3) too high pH? yes, only drink up to 9.5-9.7
4) sodium bicarb – they’re all OK as long as they are 100% SB and don’t have fillers or anti-caking agents in there
5) heh, I charge lots for marketing consultancy
Ross
How many ounces of 8ph. Alkaline Water should I drink daily, although it makes me have to go about 4 or 5 times nightly.
Hi Ron
Can you let me know HOW you’re making the water alkaline? The more hydrated you become generally the more your body will be able to use and absorb and the less frequently you’ll need to pee.
3-4 litres is optimal for most.
Ross
Goodmorning!
I just want to say thank you so much for your videos, they are fantastic and full of useful information! So many people have no idea how bad tap water really is!. I get it!! I have a glass of lemon water every morning but i want to get a top quality water filtration system and a filtered water bottle as well as i drink water throughout my day. There are so many choices but i can’t afford to waste money on something i am unsure of. What would you reccommend???
Health & Happiness,
Kimberly Kiser
Hey Kimberly
On video 3 I go through all of this in lots of detail – it’ll be ready by mid-next week.

brilliant video ![]()
what do you know.about distilled water and how long can you ie the lemon water for as you said you shouldn’t do it for too long
Distilled is kind of fine if you add the minerals back in but it is extremely slow and environmentally disastrous, really. Very inefficient! It ticks the boxes (with the added minerals) of filtered and pH, but is very oxidising to the body (the opposite of an antioxidant) so it’s definitely not the best as oxidising water will create free radicals and damage cells.
In my 3rd video I’ll go through all methods in a lot of detail – you might like it!
Ross
Hi Ross,
HUGE thanks for all that you do. You have taught me so much about eating alkaline and i feel absolutely amazing the last 6 months.
I wanted to share some thoughts and get yours on good quality mineral spring water vs ionized/alkaline water. Currently I drink a mineral spring water, bottled in glass at the source and has an alkalinity of 7.9 ph and delivered to my house. The company has provided me a 3 page purity report that shows all heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, chemical runoff, manufacturing waste, etc is all removed. From what I understand of alkaline water machines is that you use tap water. Have you taken a close look at the filters? I’ve looked at the Kangen brand alkalizing water machine filter and was told it only removes SOME of the chlorine and flouride. That is not enough considering how polluted our tap water has become and a big red flag to me. Especially if this water is better absorbed and taking all these pollutants with it into your cells and tissues.
What is your opinion on mineral water that is alkaline 7.9, purified to perfection and bottled in glass vs an alkaline ionizer machine. I understand that the antioxidant benefits go in favor of ionized water, but I also use an earthing mat which scientifically provides unlimited antioxidants as long as you are grounded. I do take 4000 ORAC superfood supplements daily which I think is important, but grounding is unquestionably strong in that regard. My philosophy is to eat and drink as close to the earth as possible without manipulation from any sort of processing. I feel this is what nature intended for us.
Would love your thoughts so I can continue to weigh my options…
Hi Alison
The filtration in the Chanson is WAY better than the Kangen/Enagic, but in reality an internal filter within an ionizer will not be able to remove everything – they are simply not big enough. The Chanson has a C3 Pre-Filter you can attach which is amazing and DOES remove all of this stuff. It’s amazing. One of the main reasons why I love Chanson so much is that they are first and foremost a filter business and have been designing and researching filtration for over 25 years. This sets them apart from other ionizer companies whose internal filters are pretty basic.
I still prefer the ionized water to the water you mention for 2 main reasons:
1) the water at a pH 9.5 is about 1000x more alkaline to the body
2) the ionization process also lowers the ORP of the water to make it a strong antioxidant. I don’t believe the water you’re getting would have this as ORP only lasts around 8 hours once produced. Yours WOULD have it if drank immediately at source, but in being bottled, stored and transported it would diminish to almost nothing. The ORP in both sources is created by a tiny electrical charge – in a spring from the friction of the water against rocks etc and in the ionizer from the slight electrolysis in the ionization process.
Thanks
Ross
Great video, thanks.
I am a fit 60 but have reflux which my doctor in his wisdom chose to put me on a strong medication which had some very negative affects on my body. Since doing the alkaline diet the reflux has disappeared but my ph is still about 6 (urine test). I have used a good ionizer with a filter for six weeks. I do the lemon juice “thing” in the early morning followed by a great green drink. Should I be concerned about the ph of my urine?
Hey Loraine
No, urine pH is often acidic because the urine is the body’s main way to get acidic toxins out. It will hopefully rise to around 6.8 in time, but don’t be concerned – you’re doing great!
Ross
Hi Ross. I just wanted to thank you for doing what you are doing! You ROCK! I am learning so much and can`t wait to really start to take it to the next level. For myself and the rest of the world – gotta pay it forward.
Quick question: Before i get a chance to arrange my own waterfilter (i will:-) how big are the benefits of just sqeezing lemon in lukewarm water (tap/bottle) vs not doing it?
If i also ad pH drops?
Again, thank you se much and im looking forward to the next videos.
Best
Ken
Hey Ken!
Thanks so much – you rock too!
The benefits of lemon water can be seen here more fully in a post I wrote quite a few years ago! It’s well worth doing, but it’s not a dealbreaker – if you don’t like it then don’t do it. But for a lot of people it actually encourages them to start the day with a big glass of water which they enjoy.
pH Drops are great for getting the pH of water up a notch or two. They’re not the complete solution but miles better than tap water alone.
In video three, which will be ready in a few days I go through all of these options and their pro’s and con’s.
Cheers again
Ross
how will lemon water help my 400 lb friends???????????
Hey Hyland
Getting PROPERLY hydrated will help absolutely. Its amazing how many people who want to lose weight are chronically dehydrated, and simply the act of hydrating themselves kickstarts their metabolism, gets their body processing toxins again and the weight starts to come off.
Thanks
Ross
I boil bottled, low mineral content water (to create a negative charge and then put it through an “ozonizing” machine. I just measured it’s PH level and got 6.3!!! I was suprised how acidic it is, not to mention not knowing whether it’s antioxidant or not. Help!!
Hey Carol – if the water is low mineral content it will likely be acid-forming. You want water that has good levels of calcium, magnesium and potassium alongside other alkaline minerals. It’s not a problem with 99% of waters (it’s whats ALSO in there that is the issue), but I mention here because you specifically said the water was low mineral content.
An ionizer would be a much better and easier option – but I’ll explain more in video 3.
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross
Thanks for the interesting video. I’m a bit confused, I’ve only just started using pH Drops and usually drink bottled water anyway as I don’t drink tea or coffee. I have found that so far this has helped reduce the acid reflux.
Can you use just a regular water filter for bottled or tap and then add the pH drops? Would this be okay? A some are too expensive.
Many thanks
Sharon
Hey Sharon
I don’t believe there is any benefit to bottled water. It is still full of rubbish, has been stored in cheap plastic for up to 12 months, has a +ORP and an acidic pH. I would definitely go with filtered tap + pH drops over bottled + pH drops.
Thanks
Ross
You say Brita jugs can make the water more acid. My husband who was in charge of water in a large company said the same. I suppose the Brita just takes out the dirt from the water. Until I buy one of your filters I would be better to go back to spanish tap water. I had to stop drinking Earl Grey tea as it wouldn’t mask the taste of the bleach nor the smell. I heard about a doctor here who said drinking bottled water was bad for you kidneys.
Hey Marilyn
I can’t comment on the Spanish water in the area you are. Us Brits were always told not to drink it – but that could have been a problem in the 80s that no longer exists!
You can get filters like the Brita that specifically alkalise the water (a little, not a lot) – search energiseforlife.com

where to get orp wattr
An ionizer is the only option for -ORP water.

Ross
Dear Ross,
Could you please let me know which is the best filter for my tap water?
I live in Belgium. I’m using Brita filters (in a can, replaceble every month) at the moment.
Thanks for all your wise advice! I appreciate it a lot!
Greetings from Brussels!
An
Hey An
I’ll cover this in some depth in videos 2 and 3.
Cheers – they’ll be ready very soon.
Great info. What do you think of distilled water? i can’t afford a system to change my tap water into a ph water, so i got a distiller and just add a little H2o2 to it.
Hi Jude
Thanks
Ross
Hello Ross,
I have just watched your 3 beginner’s guide video’s on http://www.energiseforlife.com and have a couple of questions.
Being on a gluten free diet besides Brown rice, millet and quinoa I also eat a lot of potatoes.
Were on you alkalinity scale chart do maincrop potatoes come?
Would tinned tomatoes have the same alkalinity as fresh ones/
When I juice I use the outer tougher cabbage leaves do you think the are ok?
I am a ME sufferer any special dietary advice on the alkalinity front that may help me please.
Thanks for your help
warm regards
John Dove.
Hi John
I cannot legally relate any comment to any medically diagnosed condition.
For general alkaline diet support:
- you are better off with the freshest, newest potatoes you can find. The problem with potatoes is that they are stored for long periods and develop microform growth which is very acid-forming. Plus generally, potatoes are not great as they are a simple carb. Sweet potato and yams are a better choice.
- tinned tomatoes wouldn’t but feel free to use as part of an overall alkaline meal
- juicing these leaves is fine – but make sure you have some dark green leaves in there too from spinach, watercress, silverbeet, kale etc
Good luck on your health journey John
Ross
Hi Ross
Is the The Chanson Miracle MAX better than the under work top version because of the rock salt chamber? I am considering buying either but just want to know which is the best one. Also if I purchase the under counter version does the tap have the same controls as the The Chanson Miracle MAX?
Currently I have not started this diet but am very interested in it and I wonder how much difference the water would make if I drank plenty, but never followed the rest of the diet. (Just being honest because I know what I am like). I would imagine a lot of people would be interested in the answer to that one! ![]()
Regards Chris
Hey Chris
The two units are identical in terms of their technology except for the salt chamber. This however, should not be the make or break decision – it’s more whether you want it on your counter top or under the sink. If you want the unit to be out of the way and under the sink then I’d go for that – regardless of the salt chamber. The tap features do match the Max yes.
I hope this helps!
Ross
500ml and one entire lemon ?
Jubi
Hey Jubi
I use about 1/3 to 1/4 in a 500ml glass.
Ross
Hi Ross. So glad I’ve discovered Energise. My question regards salt. I’m addicted to it and have it with everything. How does this sit with the alkaline diet? If it’s bad is there a suitable alternative?
Hey Gaynor
All salts are not equal! You can replace the common table salt (sodium chloride) on your foods and in your diet (which is acid forming) with sodium bicarbonate (less as a food flavouring and more as a supplement). Your body makes you crave what it craves. You are addicted to salt because your body is craving it. If you give it alkaline salts (which also include magnesium and potassium and calcium in bicarbonate form) then it will stop the addiction to the table salt.
pH Miracle pHour Salts (see http://www.energiseforlife.com) are amazing for this.
Ross
Thanks for that rich piece of information and education.
Are there negative effects of drinking water that has sodium
bicarbonate in it for a long time, while also taking adding
lemon in the water?
Hey Ugochukwu
I don’t combine both into the same drink – I just prefer not to. No scientific reason, just a preference. Neither are a strong alkaline in the water, so it’s best in my opinion to split them over two drinks.
There are no negative effects – just don’t have more than 1 tsp of Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3) per day – too much of any one nutrient is never good – get a balance.
Ross
ijust bought a waters co mineral pot ace is this good enough
Hi John
Can you give me a link to it?
Ross
Hi Ross,
Been meaning to e-mail you for ages. You keep talking in your videos* about filtration & rubbish water – most filters are rubbish – you ought to be talking about purification. you know – something that not only takes out the basics, but the THMs.
I’m new to all this ph stuff as I was only put in touch with a person who tested mine about 20 months ago. Drs know nothing about how our bodies really work. Not their fault, they’re not taught about it. But – I have been using an Australian purifier for the past 20 yrs! I’ve just got hold of their phone number & I’m going to ring them tomorrow to get some more info, & specifically about the ph they guarantee it produces. My mother taught me about lemon water when I was a small child in the ’50s, so I expect – like silver – it has been known about for centuries.
Got some other stuff I want to say, but it can wait ’till I have time to send another e-mail, but I’d
like to actually talk to you some time if you have a free half hour. If you’ve got Skype – purplemajesty10 is my handle. My friends usually e-mail me a few days ahead with a time as I don’t leave it on. the little pop-up atthe bottom of the screen is too annoying.
Hi JR
To my mind filtration and purification are the same thing – but I have to appeal to what people know and filtration is the more common term. No two filters are the same and I believe you get what you pay for. Chanson have been researching and building filters for over 25 years and I love them and thats why I prefer them. They do remove THMs without any trouble (for anyone who doesn’t know what they are – see here).
I agree regarding Doctors – absolutely not their fault – they are given no nutritional training at all. Some are put in the position where they are expected to know this stuff, and I feel for them – but others outright try to make nutritional recommendations (or rubbish nutrition as a source of healing) and these guys should just stick to what they know and have been trained in.
Drop me an email when you get the chance.
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross,
I was desperate after suffering many bouts of severe gastric pain and H Pylori. Tried everything and then found you, looking for a way of correcting my diet. From your chart I realised that my diet was mainly acidic! So, after 2 weeks of following your advice, I have no pain and feel lighter and energised. I have ordered your recipe book too. (Not arrived yet).
I have an e-spring tap filter from Amway that I have been using for many years and a filter water jug to keep my water in the fridge. Thank you for the info in your video above, I will definately start that too. I have passed your name on to many of my friends here in South Africa to look at your website.
Thanks for wanting to help others…
Regards,
Colleen from Johannesburg, South Africa.
Hey Colleen!
That’s so awesome – you’ve made my year!
You’re a star and congrats on your improvement!
Ross
I eat very alkaline, but am still acidic according to test strips (not litmus). Lemon water hurts my stomach and gives me diarrhea. How can it do that it is not acidic in the stomach? How much water do you mix the 1/2 t. of sodium bicorbonate with? There is a store near me that sells alkaline water. Would that also provide filtration, oxidation and proper ph?
thank you for answering my quesitons,
Lori Stark
Hey Lori
It’s really hard to answer that without more info. Can you let me know what your average day’s intake of food and drink looks like? I can trouble shoot from there.
Regarding the alkaline water – you’ll have to ask the store. Unless they use an ionizer it won’t have the ORP benefit.
Ross
Dear Ross,
Many thanks for your excellent video and information sharing. Its amazing that you have started to talk about drinking the right quality water. This has also been my recent thoughts and actions which can really change our life. Once more thanks for your kind and sincere effort towards a beautiful healthy life.
Zaman
Thanks Zaman – I really appreciate your comment
Hi,
Thanks for such a good video about our natural drink – water !
In India, I am trying to find the availability of reliable alkaline water maker products.
Meanwhile I would like to understand whether it is allowed to drink lemon with luke warm during anytime or only empty stomach in the morning before breakfast ?
Waiting for extensive reply.

Hey J Prasad
I only say first thing because it’s a great way to start the day. YOu can have it at any time.
Thanks

Hello
Can you tell me if just an ordinary filter jug is enough and must I add anything other than lemon juice to the water.
I’m a vegan of 30 years but still have health problems due to other influences than diet. I’m determined to over come it all. I’m 66 by the way. And I eat mostly raw.
Hey Geraldine
In videos 2 and 3 you’ll get heaps on this – I go into a LOT of detail
Ross
Hi Ross,
I am drinking lemon water but not the quantity of water as 2-4 litres seems quite high. I have also started using a water jug filtration system called Sentevia until I can afford to get a better system installed. Can you comment on this system? I tried the sodium bicarbonate in water and it gave me an upset stomach. Any comments. Thanks. I think you are awesome!
In India we are in Hyderabad what filters we should use and we are supposed to add any honey along with 500 ml lemon water and how many lemons per 500ml its good to here kindly respond
G/Day Ross ! Many thanks for the confirmation about Alkaline Water, When you get to 63 it’s a process of elimination to come to the conclusions that you have come to, only you have age on your side !
I am using a reverse osmosis system by “Pure Water Systems” of the USA, is that suitable ? as you probably have heard the talk about having all the minerals removed is no good for you. Keep up the good work and question everything ! regards Stuart from Australia.
Ross,
Your passion for this subject shines through. Excellent video and information sharing. I have been drinking alkaline water since 2005 since purchasing a water ionizer. Thank you for the wonderful reminder though – it is easy to take for granted the reason why we made the change!
How do you add the pre-filter?
Hi Ross, I have been reading your emails for the last 3-4months, and ive recieved alot of good knowledge and tips. I even bought your diet recipe book which i need to start using. I have never followed your your tips on making alkaline water at home, as i disagreed with it. I can see that you have started to talk about drinking the right quality water. This has always been my thoughts and actions. I really recommend that you look into the Kangen Water Machine. This machine is made by enagic. It is made in japan, and we all know that japan make the best products in the world. Everything about this machine is amazing.
1.The quality control of the manufacturing process is uncomparable
2.The machine creates 7 types of water for different uses
3. creates water at different levels of ORP
4. Micro-clustered water/changes the size of the molecule so it penetrates your cells
There are many things that i can go on about which you probably already know. This machine is used in over twenty major hospitals in japan for every sickness. Its truelly amazing. It took me six months to make my decision to buy this machine. It is the most expensive because of the commissions that are paid out, butto me health comes first. I have healed my cousins hand of eczema which she could not heal after twelve months of all types of treatment. I have a slide show which i can send you if you want. Enagic is the first company in the world to create this type of machine and i can see that all other companys have copied them. This company is the original. Let me know what you think
thanks for putting these educational videos. My question is why are you limiting Sodium Bicarbonate to only 1/2 teaspoon per day? If you can explain, I would appreciate. Also, I suggest if you haven’t, to read about Tullio Simoncini who suggests sodium bicarbornate as a potential cure to cancer.
thanks,
Israel
Hi
We recently bought a biocera alkalizing jug and filters, my children drink a lot more water now. It tastes fantastic. I would highly recomend it.
Before getting this jug, my body eas still just under the alkaline level even though i was sticking to a lot of raw food, i couldn’t understand it, but like you said maybe the water was something to do with it.
Take care
jen
Hello, Are there any foods that are truly alkaline? Any snack suggestions?
Thank you. Great Videos.
I have been drinking lemon water for the past few weeks and I have lost 10 lbs. I have been eating most of my food raw. I tried to eat potatoes raw but found cooking them a bit under cooked is good and I drink the potato water. I also use the potato water to make my veggie smoothies. I’m finding breakfast a hard one to figure out what to have other than homefries w/ a poached egg. I use coconut oil for frying.
I have noticed a change in my health. The arthritis is almost gone in my knees. I have more energy, im sleeping better, and I’m thinking better. I thank you so much for steering me onto this way of eating.
found the video very interesting and cant wait to hear how and when i can buy a water filter to get started straight away!
Thank you so much for sending this video.
My question is, I drink distilled water most of the time. What do you think of distilled water and being an antioxident?
Diane
i think my computer has sounds problems, thus i didnt get anything, pliz, kindly write for me even if it will be in brief.
Hi Kieya
I’m hoping to get all these videos transcribed into a PDF soon so keep things posted.
Cheers
Ross
Hi there thanks for the encouragement. I had been using lemon in my drinking water, a slice at a time but unfortunately it was rather rough on my throut. I am wondering if the 500mls of warm water will cause the same probllem. The specialist also suggested I use the bicarb twice daily. (these were not used at the same time. May bThe Lord Jesus Bless you. Janette.
Hi Janette
It’s possibly worth trying again but only squeezing the lemon in rather than putting the slice in. Unless it’s an unwaxed and organic lemon, who knows what would be on that skin!
The bicarb, in small quantities is a good idea.
Thanks
Ross
Dear Ross,
You are Great!
I am a 68-year old and my wife is 65-year old. I am impressed with your video but my wife didn’t! I am an athletic person walking about 5 Km a day. but she isn’t!
Please let me know what to do to give her a practical example of the amount of heath I may gain following your recommendation.
I am willing to spend money to make my drinking water absolutely meets your standards, bearing in mind that I have a multi-stage water filtering system in my house… Best Regards
Hi Mohamed
50% success rate for me then! Practically, when I first started to drink plenty of alkaline, filtered and ionized water I noticed:
– better skin
– more energy
– better athletic performance and faster recovery from exercise
– less minor illnesses (I never get coughs or colds now)
– clearer thinking
Many people report weight loss too.
I hope this helps. Let me know more about the filter you already have
Ross
Hi Ross
Could not open the video – came up saying video not found or access denied. What should I do?
Thanks
Much appreciated
Gladys
Hi Gladys
My videos are hosted by Amazon S3 so should (should) always work, but sometimes you just have to wait and try again. Note: you can’t view on mobiles or iPads.
Thanks
Ross
Could it be this simple ! Soon to find out. Thank you.
I have a Chanson Max, is that enough filtration or do you suggest I filter my water even more with another level of filtration. Thanks
Hey Johnathan!
How’s things buddy? So you got your unit hooked up in your apartment OK in the end? Or did you end up moving?
The filtration on the MAX is exceptional. You can optionally add a pre-filter too which makes the water phenomenally well filtered – it depends on your opinions on your local tap water. The ionizer is fine without it but it does give you an extra level of filtration you won’t find anywhere else!
Let me know if you’re keen as I can point you in the right (and most affordable) direction. You’ve still got my email I presume?
Cheers
Ross
What should be the ph of the water we drink?
Ideally between 9-9.5, but anything over 8 is good.
I am interested in finding, as most people probably are, the lowest-effort ways of getting the most results. I accept the ph balance hypothesis as having a lot of merit. I already take small amounts of baking soda to help me stay at a more acceptable ph level, and I will add lemon water.
Two questions:
1. what is the significance of the lemon-water being “lukewarm” when you drink it?
2.you have likely heard of people selling food-grade hydrogen peroxide as a kind of magic bullet for just about everything health-related. Does hydrogen peroxide have beneficial effects on ph balance?
Thanks for your work on these ways to be healthier.
Austin
Hey Austin
Totally understand your approach and perspective on this – makes sense.
1. the body more easily digests lukewarm water and requires less energy than to digest cold or hot beverages
2. I have. It’s not great and I personally think you have to be EXTREMELY careful with the concentrated drops. Drops such as pHion’s pH Booster and pH Miracle’s Activator (or PuripHy) are very safe and are fantastic products – but straight hydrogen peroxide is, in my opinion, not smart. I am also not a fan of MMS which is largely sodium chlorite, which I think is not a good idea at such high levels.
I hope this helps.
The drops are great when reputable and safe (especially when travelling) but there are a LOT of very dodgy brands out there.
Ross
Hi Ross,
I discovered my tap water to be a very acidic PH 6.4 so first thing I did was add half teaspoon of sodium bicarb in half a glass of water.
Guess what happened?
The PH got lower! 6.2 to be precise.
I repeated the process with water from a simple electronic alkalizer that had
ph 8 and that went down to 7.8.
How in the world is this possible???
I did not check my PH meter for calibration but it is new.
Even if the value is not entirely correct, the difference will be.
Best Regards,
Nico Baas
Netherlands
Hey Nico
Sounds weird! Without knowing the brand of testing meter, bicarb or electronic alkaliser it’s hard to help though…
Any one of the three could be iffy.
Ross
If I add lemon juice to my morning smoothie, instead of drinking it separately with water, will it have the same positive, alkaline effect ?
Does it matter if the smoothie is not warm ? It is a mix of fruits and vegetables, etc.
How much lemon juice should be added …. for 8 oz ( one cup ) of liquid ? 16 oz ( 2 cups ) of liquid ? Etc.
Thank You !
Hey Helene
Why not just have it with the water? It’s really a mechanism to make your water more beneficial rather than the alkaline effect of the lemon per se.
Also – don’t go too crazy with the fruits in your smoothie – almost all are acid-forming.
Thanks
Ross
p.s. not sure of USA measurements but I put about 1/4 to 1/3 lemon per 500ml of water
Hey Ross,
I’m from the Netherlands and I’ve heard we have really great tapwater (but I’m really starting to doubt this now). I also noticed that you didn’t mention European tap water to be bad, only bottled water. Could you clarify this for me?
Hey Mike
Funnily enough I just commented on Nico’s comment (on this page) who is in the Netherlands with a tap water pH of 6.4! to be honest I don’t know a great deal about the quality of tap water outside of the UK, USA and Australia but I would not expect it to be good and most countries are still chlorinating too.
I would definitely still filter at the very least.
Ross
What about rain water – tank? Is that okay. Also what if you boil water – what impact does that have or do you still have to filter it.
Hi Anne
Boiling certainly helps but it’s not especially efficient or eco-friendly. Rain and tank water varies wildly so you’d have to have it tested.
Cheers
Ross
Hi Ross, is it alright to take vitamins & fiber with alkaline water ? Also is alkaline water good for dogs ?
Thanks,
Sylvia
Hi Sylvia
It’s fine to do so. For animals, it needs only to be very mildly alkaline.
Ross
All I have right now is a Brita filter cup, is that water ok with lemon as alkalize or can you tell me what is the next best filter system?
Thanks
Sandra
Brita is ok in that it does filter, but it also makes it more acid-forming.
Your other question is answered very extensively in video 3!
Ross
hi – i have been drinking reverse osmosis water for a number of years, have an RO unit in the kitchen, and recently have started using an alkapod that is supposed to make my drinking water more alkaline, i always add a squeeze of lemon too – is this enough? – should i do more – i was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma a couple of years ago and am trying my best to stay healthy
should i do smething more? different?
your guidance appreciated
thank you
Joseph
Hi Joseph
I can’t comment on your questions due to a medically diagnosed condition being mentioned. Sorry about that.
Ross
I am drinking Alkaline water every day from a Water Ionizer: Life 9200. I started about a month ago and I can feel the change on my body and health. Do you have any comments on this water Ionizer that I mentioned?
Enjoyed to watch your video.
Pedro
HI
Life are a good solid company.
You’ll do great.
Ross
Exellent video, all seems to make sense. look forward to the next one
David
Thanks David
I wonder how I can test the ph in my water system I currently have? Are there ph strips you can buy to measure it? Thanks for your informative talk.
Regards, Judy Etherington
Hi Judy
No relation to Matt Etherington are you?
The best way to test is with a digital meter (search on amazon). The paper pH testing only works on bodily fluids I’m afraid.
Thanks
Ross
Hi! Amazing video!! First of all I’m from Chile, South America and I tried to understand as much as I could. I’m always buying bottled water (I thought it was better than tap water). So, the question is: should I filter tap water or bottled water? A glass of 500 with one lemon??
I’ll be waiting for your answer and of course thank you very much INDEED for everything.
Cheers
Hi Marien
IF you’ve got a good filter, you’re better off filtering tap water from a cost/benefit point of view – but I don’t know the quality of the water in Chilie.
It’s worth checking out though…
Ross
Hi Ross, I buy filtered water and put baking soda in it, about 1 tablespoon for every 3 gallons is there something better I should be putting in my water to make the ph higher?
Thanks,
Rachel
Hi Rachel
I go through every method and technique in video 3
Ross
Hello,
I really enjoyed your video, it was very informative and well done. I have been led to believe that distilled water with minerals added are the best water to alkalize your body. What’s your opinion on the matter.
thank you so much for your quick response.
Rochel Weiss
Hi Rochel
Distilled is fine if you add the minerals back in but it is extremely slow and environmentally disastrous really. Very inefficient! It ticks the boxes (with the added minerals) of filtered and pH, but is very oxidising to the body (the opposite of an antioxidant) so it’s definitely not the best.
In my 3rd video I’ll go through all methods in a lot of detail – you might like it!
Ross
Hi Ross, I’ve been using a Waterwize 8000 water distiller to remove as much gunk from the tap water as possible for years now, and have also been buying reverse osmosis alkalized water here locally that i keep by my bedside to drink in the a.m. and before bedtime. My questions are as follows: do either of those methods completely remove the flouride, chlorine, and other undesirables from the water? Also, is it ok to squeeze a lemon into the alkalized water or is that overdoing it? Can we cook & make tea with alkalized water? 2 liters seems like a lot of water to me as well? Should i gradually increase my water intake to a minimum of 2 liters? About 1 liter per day seems right for me at this point. Thank you & many blessings to you Ross.
Hi Jorge
The distilled and RO get rid of EVERYTHING. This is a good and bad thing. The bad stuff is gone, but it leaves an acid-forming, oxidising water rather than alkaline antioxidant water.
The RO water could only be alkaline if it has been re-mineralised so make sure where you are buying it from does this.
Lemon in alkaline water is probably not necessary for any benefit other than taste.
…finally, yes you should build up your intake slowly at a pace that is comfortable for you.
Thanks
Ross
This has been a great concern and while I have dramatically improved my diet, the water issue has remained a mystery as to how do I tackle this issue….
I have been drinking bottled water for YEARS…. and I have read about the issues with bottled water but it seemed to be the lesser of the two evils…Tap water being the worst due to so many unidentifiable chemicals that are in it…
I need a good filtering system one that does not cost me an arm & leg…. and it is not gimmicky. I been holding out to get advanced information on filtering systems…Even Dr. Mercola has vacilated and has not come out with a hard line on what system would be best…Although he does promote a product in his product line…but not being sure enough yet…I keep waiting..and really it is time for me to get on with finding the one system best for me.
thank you
Hey Anna
I totally understand where you’re coming from. I hope that my next two videos can help you on this journey, but feel free to ask me any questions or send me any products you’re thinking of buying to ross@energiseforlife.com and I’ll give you an honest appraisal.
Thanks
Ross
Will Brita type filter do ?
How does stir frying compare to salad ?
Any other fruit/vegetable that is effective in alkalising water?
Hi KK
Brita does some OK filtration but makes the water more acid forming and have a +ORP which is not good.
Stir Frying is OK but ‘steam’ frying is better…where you ‘fry’ in a small amount of water (or vegetable stock) for a short amount of time. Salads are better than either of these, but can get a bit boring!
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross, Thanks for all your hard work and passion. I’ve been following you for a while now, and since you posted and I watched the “Hungry for Change” film I have turned my eating habits around and am seeing amazing results. I have also been following a juicing plan for a while which incorporates the Lemon water, but I had no idea the lemon water was so beneficial.
Keep up the good work and thanks again. I look forward to the next instalment.
Amy
Thanks Amy – HFC has to go down as the single most motivating 90 minutes of any footage…EVER!
Still very impressed by James and the Food Matters team for that one – really great stuff. Let’s hope they do another soon!
Ross
Sorry dear heart, i need the bottom line, as to what to put in my water.
Alkalinity
Our water is supplied by a private well, which has consistently been exceeding the Maximum Contaminant Levels would the filter (you’re about to share in your next video) be sufficient to account for this fact.
Yes – but drop me an email on ross@energiseforlife.com
Ross
I have been using filtered tap (hard water area) with Dr Youngs PuripHy drops but this only gives me about 7.25 – 7.5 using the test strips (I know you should only use them for saliva how else to compare ?).
I was thinking of using bottled Buxton Water (natural pH 7.4) instead of the tapwater – so Buxton water filtered plus PuripHy.
Would this be a better method ??
Thanks Ross
John
It would be a slight improvement – but you definitely can’t use the strips to test the pH. You need either pH testing fluid or ideally a digital pH meter (search amazon).
The even better cheaper bet would be to use a brita type filter (http://www.energiseforlife.com/item–Alkaline-Water-Jug–ALKJUG.html <- the best option for a ‘jug’) on the tap water with the PuripHy drops.
Cheers
Ross
Love all the information I am receiving from you.thank you for all the information.
No worries Malliga
I’d like more information on 1/2 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate per day please.
Not sure what else I can add!
I would like to know what you recommend for someone on dialysis and have acid reflex.
Hi Addie – unfortunately I can’t comment on any medically diagnosed symptom or situation.
I am drinking FIJI water and add the “ph/ion buster” drops to make it more alkaline.
Is this good?
Also if I add “ph ion buster” drops to Poland Spring water bottles would it be ok?
I always considered that tap water has a lot of medications and other crap that the filter could not get.
Please give me your opinion.
thx,
Hi Beatrice
If you’re definitely concerned about your tap water – bottled with pH drops would be better than nothing by a LOOOONG way.
Ross
will i get the same results if i use the ph drops rather than buying an ionizer? cheers
Hi Gabe
No, unfortunately nowhere near! The measure of good quality water is on a few factors:
1) pH
2) ORP (the measure of antioxidants in water)
3) filtration
4) water structure (how hydrating it is)
pH drops ONLY give you the alkalinity benefit and even then only get to pH 8 – 8.5 – whereas an ionizer will easily give you all 4 benefits and a pH of 9.5 (plus a huge hit of antioxidants in every glass). I know it’s a big investment but the ionizer is such a flippin brilliant way to go – it’s incredible.
Ross
very interesting, always tried to be healthy…
Now I’m 56, overweight and looking forward to your advice…
Hey Ron
Getting hydrated daily with good quality water will go a LONG way to helping with weight loss.
Ross
Ross – I have my own well which supplies all my drinking water. How can I find out whether this water is anti-oxidising and what its pH value is?
Thanks
Denise
Hi Denise
You’d need a digital pH meter and a digital ORP meter – both available on amazon.
Ross
You say bottled water could be bad for you, but what type of bottled water ? for example i buy bottled spring water, is this water ok ?. or are all bottled waters not good including mineral water?
as i would have thought * spring water * to be filtered * naturaly * as it says on the bottle.
It’s more that the bottled water has a +ORP which means it is oxidising to your cells (creates free radicals). I also have concerns over products stored for long periods in plastic too, but thats another matter.
Ross
Hello,
One problem is I am deaf and no closed captioned on your video so perhaps, you can give me some briefs?
I, sometimes, using baking soda in my water after the water went thru my water “lighted” filter. I mean my fitler container first removed most of chemicals when it goes thru the filter,,,then next one is thru another container which has a light blub in it to kill “small bugs”.
Now I wonder if it is ok to use little of baking soda to make it more alkaline or should I use lemon juice which you think will be more effective?,,
Thank you, Donald
Hey Donald
I’m working hard to get these transcribed…watch this space.
Ross
Hie Ross
My acid has not decreased even though Iam trying eating the foods you recommended. Iam suspecting the water I drink from deep wells, it has not been tested. Itested it using PH paper and it proved that it has high acid. What must I do Ross. My Health is in trouble, my productive time is wasted suffering from this problem.
Hi Kandeya
You can’t rely on the pH paper for testing water – as it’s only supposed to work on bodily fluids.
This would work: http://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-pH-Test-Kit/dp/B000BT32UA/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1338497077&sr=8-12
Thanks

Hello Ross people who has pain in there arms can alkaline water help reduce pain in a celluar way
Alkaline water certainly helps, I believe, at a cellular level. It depends of course on the method and type of alkaline water you’re thinking of though…
Hi Ross,
I sent an email a few weeks ago enquiring how to purchase your diet book as I have been blocked on all the emails sights.
Many thanks for all your support, I am a fan
Regards Tessa.
Hey Tessa
Just dropped you an email
Sorry!
Ross
I have a two stage water filter in my home. Can I use this and just add a lemon for may daily consumption of alkalized water?
You’d have to let me know more about the 2-stage filter – what are the stages?
Ross
Hi Ross I have read that insufficient stamach acid production called hypochlorhydria adversly affects the digestion and absorbtion of many vital nutrients contributing to many otherwise unrelated health problems. Also it is not uncommom to experience low stomach acid as you get older.
In view of this would drinking Alkaline water contribute to this as I am 79 yrs?
I did invest in a Chanson filter as you recommended but our water pressure is not sufficient and I had to return it. We get our water from an untreated source and have 2 filters and Ultra Violet ray treatments. Our water is very slightly acid.
I have a water ionizing jug from you. I am worried re the absorbtion bit.
Thanks
Mary
Hey Mary
How are you? I recognised your name and email

Hi Ross,
Living on a farm we drink rain water. How does it rate for quality?
Mark
You’d have to test it mate, I can’t tell without looking at a sample unfortunately.
Hi Ross, just finished watching your first video. Thanks mate, loved it. I’ve been drinking a large glass of lemon juice every morning first thing for about 18 months now. your words remind me it is the thing to do. Next, I intend to follow your advice about filtration etc, cause I’m sure the water I drink is pretty crap. Looking forward to your next info. Thanks again, regards, Brian.
Thanks Brian – hope you like the other 2 videos just as much!
Ross
THANK YOU for sending me this video l have been trying to lose weight and have been trying to eat well for many years. I have RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS and lm trying to look for things to help so this sounds so simple and makes sence, so will give this a go and is there anything else that might help me. thank you Christine.
Thanks Christine – I hope you like the other vids too!
Ross
Love the video..lemon starts tomorrow..can I use the lemon juice in the plastic bottle if fresh is unavailable?
Hi Ross
So is the biocera alkaline water jug the best reasonably priced filter to cover the 3 factors
Best wishes
Bridget
Hi! I am wondering where you got all this info. Have you tried and made test on the water yourself and is there a way I can test my tap water and see what pH level it has?
I do believe this just like you and have done so for a long time, but it would be nice -especially if you want to show this to critical people- to have some ground to stand on. Who tried and found out that this is actually true and so on.
Thanks!
Hi Marcus
I go through each method in video 3 (next week) with a digital pH meter and ORP meter.
It’s fantastic stuff!
Ross
Hello, in a recent trip to my dentist I was told the reason for a couple of my teeth chipping and ‘crumbling’ was the daily dose of lemon water that I drink, and to cut down on the acid in my diet Can you comment on this and advise me on how to continue with my lemon water and fruit eating regime without causing further damage to my teeth?
hello,
thanks for the continuing information. I am drinking filtered water throughout the day but always adding a drop of lemon or lime. Is this acceptable? Also I am interested in a water container to take with me when I leave the house. What is your recommendation? I see that you sell water bottles in the shop and you have mentioned the plastic contaminating the water.
Hey Heather
This is great for taking to work (and having on your desk) http://www.energiseforlife.com/item–Alkaline-Water-Jug–ALKJUG.html
Ross
Dear Ross,
Thank you very much for the Facts filled, Myths and Lies about drinking water EXPOSED. I have purchased and using the Kangen Water device that supposedly made 9.5 pH Alkaline water and it seems to work alright. However,May i make this water even more potent by adding a few drops of liquid Oxygen in order to oxygenate this Alkaline Kangen water to turn it into the Oxygen Rich Therapy suggested in the One Minute Cancer Cure book by Madison Cavanaugh to help assist my wife who is fighting for her life with Mastectomy from Breast Cancer and endless amount of Chemo Therapies?
My thought was that the Alkaline water alone is NOT ENOUGH to help Cancer patient and thus, by adding more Oxygen to the water directly for consumption on a daily basis will even make it more effective in combating dreaded diseases such as Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Diabetes, Allergies and so fort… Please kindly give me your best opinion regarding this Low Budget yet effective effort. Thank you very much for your kind and professional advice.
All for Optimum Health, Wealth and Joys
Dennis
Hey Dennis
I understand your approach and I like it for a variety of reasons, however, I can’t make any claim relating to any diagnosed condition.
Thanks
Ross
Thanks that was great! I am very interested in the best water filter to buy. Also I will be doing a lot of travelling shortly and I wanted to find a good portable water filter to buy and take with me. Any suggestions?
Also any suggestions of how to handle the water issue when travelling in general? Much appreciated. Sue
Ps I just did Unleash the Power Within with Tony in Sydney – the health day was totally great and inspiring. Will spread the word it’s so important! I have been blessed with beautiful skin everyone comments on – and people always ask me what do you do? I always say, well my mother taught me to drink lots and lots of water and I always have and I really think thats it ()and I really do). It was a child hood habit from my mum that I have always had – never realising until now fully how important that was and how lucky!
Hey Sue
That’s awesome! For travel I definitely recommend one of these: http://www.energiseforlife.com/item–Alkaline-Water-Jug–ALKJUG.html
I take mine everywhere!

The race is on for good health using the subsatnce as Alkaline water. Hope this is in the best quality of water.
Absolutely Paul. The 3rd video will interest you. It’s coming next week.
What’s this missing piece?
I can only suggest you watch the video!
hi =)
Hey Paris
Hiya,
We have purchased greens and bottles for you. Are the plastic bottles ok?
Hi Somesh
Yes, they have been tested for safety and are food grade quality. The very best is glass – but these are a shipping nightmare so we leave those to the shops you can walk into!
Don’t put in the washing machine though!
Ross
What does magnetising wour water do for you?
Hi Sunny
To create ‘lemon water’ all you need to do is squeeze 1/4 of a fresh lemon into 400-500ml of water, preferably water that is slightly warm.
I hope this helps
Ross
Am 58 yrs , Male —75 kg
Started for the first time I put 1 each lemon in an empty cocola bottle. After 2 hrs after my breakfast , I started to take this Lemon dilute ( 1.5 Litres) bottle.
Am I doing the right thing.
Kindly advise.
What is ur name PLEASE.?
Sunny
I love your videos very informative I do put lemon juice in my water and filter it at the moment. I will try with the powder as well is there any store bought ones you would recommend in the UK.I really am interested in the Alkaline diet and the health benefits. I am hoping I can post more about this on my blog to help people increase productivity
Hi Mike
My recommendations are for the pH drops (such as pH Miracle’s PurpHy) or to use an ionizer over using the minerals in the water.
Cheers
Ross
Hey Mike – thanks buddy, I’ll definitely check your blog out.
The pH drops would probably be a better starting place in terms of seeing an instant benefit.
Cheers
Ross
Have been using a powder “AlkalaN to alkalyse my water which i drink at home. Are the drops better? Am about to buy a water bottle made by an aussie company which filters and alkalyses at the same time. They also make filter/alkalysers to fit to water systems. Wiil wait to see what you have to say about these before i buy one. I drink lemon water every morning and have done so for a while. My daughter has a heart problem and is on mediction whichis very high in potassium. She has been told not to eat bananas because of their high potassium content…the water alkalysers contain potassium so we are in aquandry. Are there filters which alkalyse without the use of potassium? Or should she just stick to lemon for now? And is it a good idea to monitor the alkaline state of ones body with the use of ph paper? I did for a while and it was interesting to observe. Is it better to test urine better or the saliva? Thanks for al your fantastic information
Hi Tina
The powder and the drops are similar in that they are just highly concentrated alkaline minerals. I personally prefer the drops (when I don’t have access to my ionizer) but it’s down to preference for you. The one thing you don’t have with the drops or powder though is any filtration, so make sure you filter the water too.
The water bottles with the added filter are handy, but not the ultimate. Handy for travel and while at work…
For your daughter unfortunately I can’t comment on anything suggested by her Doctor. Sorry about that.
For testing your pH – check this guide I wrote a few years back: http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/2006/04/12/alkaline-test-how-to-test-your-ph-levels-saliva-urine/
Thanks

Ever since I’ve been taking blood pressure medication, I have been experiencing some arthiritis and gout attacks. My blood work shows a high level of uric acid. I had about 4 or 5 major gout attacks in the past 2-3 years which is extremely painful. Thery can last a week or two in which I can not walk on my own, I need a crutch and/or a wheel chair.
I need to bring down my uric acid level as much as I can to illiminate my gout, aches, and pains and feel more healthy and energiSed.
Thanks,
Joe
Hey Joe
Keep in touch and let me know how it’s going!

how do i get good water
Hey Lori

Hi Ross,
I have the Miracle MAX and am wondering if the run off, which is acidic, can be used to sterilize counters, skincare, etc. or is it contaminated? I obviously can produce the acidic water with the ionizer, but was wondering if the run off can be used.
Thanks,
Jenn
Hey Jennifer! Good to hear from you
The run off (which is acid when making alkaline and alkaline when making acid) is the direct opposite of whatever you’re making – so if you’re set to high alkaline then the run off will be high acid.
So, yes, you can use the run off as if it were the opposite setting
Thanks
Ross
I have been educating myself the last 2 years on nutrition and the proper metabolic traing etc. As you know there is so much information out there, and while its fine for people to earn money this way there are too many people saying “this is the best” just to earn money. I believe everyones problems will clear or close to by eating what was put here on the earth for humans when humans were. our hormones, ph, levels etc would all balance out. This is not what people think when their priority is run and work and just eat when you get time. This is why I know drinking the right water can improve health so much, especially when that is one of the main things our body is made up of. If people cannot (or I should say dont want to do everything they should, because its not that they can’t its that they wont) do everything they should I know this is one of the priorities they should start with. I have been looking into ionized water systems but like many others priorities (and I dont mean fun) I mean real priorities like the power bill and groceries is all I can do at this time. I have been drinking a gallon of water a day with fresh squeezed lemon. Well most of the time. I have also used 100% pure lemon oil in my water. I am wondering if this is as good as fresh squeezed lemon? It is right from the natural lemon with no additives and truthfully there are days when I am in my car most of the day or traveling and I cannot carry around lemons or fresh lemon juice. Is this the same- lemon oil (I use 100% doterra) as lemon juice? If not what do you think is best on those crazy days? Also it may be another year or two before I can afford a system. The pure sodium bicarbonate and lemon I shouldn’t do that long but what else can I do? Credit cards are no longer an option for us. I have $200 dollars I could use. I know this might seem strange but any work I can do for anyone who can help me out to buy one or you? I am an honest mother of three from Utah. I am 32 years old and have had 2 pulminary embolisms. 4 surgeries, was close to liver failure, gallbladder disease, and bad circulation. i am too young to have these issues and need help to stay the healthiest I can to prevent future disease.
Doctors look at me like Im doomed when I list my family health history: dads side everyone of his sibling have had heart attacks including mother-4 3 of which have had cancer, there are clots, high blood pressure and high cholestrol, gout, rhumetoid arthritis, and diabetes. Moms side everyone of her siblings except one (two of which died before 50) and her father have had heart attacks 4- also diabetes, thyroid disease, stroke, and high cholestrol and blood clots. This is to make you feel a little sorry for me so you will see why I need help.
Thanks for your time and more importantly your goodness inside that makes you want to help people.
S
I have a water filter connected to my fridge which takes the water directly from the water tap – does this make the water more alkaline? Also I usually take boiled water slighted cooled with fresh lemon first thing in the morning – is this sufficient enough to make the water less contaminated and more alkaline? Any other ingredients apart from bicarbonate of soda that can be used to make the water alkaline? I am a follower of alkaline diet although I fall of the bandwagon every now and again and I am always open to more information and advice. I currently take evian water when go to the gym as I understood that it is the most alkaline form of water – I welcome your views on it……
Regards
Hi Ross
Can not view your videos, any suggestions
Hey Ross – your site has been recommended to me by my Bowen Therapist. I’ve already gratefully downloaded your guide to Alkaline water and ordered some Ph ion drops as I use a water distiller. Just opened your last email re: The missing link, but cannot view the video. Can’t wait to find out what I’m missing out on as I’ve been enjoying heaps of your 7 top alkaline foods – made so easy with my Vitamix.
I’m really impressed with your site. I’ve tried veggie, vegan & raw which were great until I had a spine injury and wasn’t able to heal. You’ve given me the motivation to continue with the right foods and allow myself to not feel guilty if I steam veg occasionally and not feel guilty when I eat fish which I evidently need for repair. I am definitely feeling more alive again. Thank you.
Please, if there is a problem with your last video, will you re-send the link ?
With kind regards
M
Hi
I need to read the missing piece.I have not been able to epon it.
thanks very much for ur info..i was allways under impression that water is alkaline and never rally
please email to me the info about this water filtering product and price please, thanks : erez
Hi Ross!
Great video! cant wait to see the others.
I seek for.good orientation how to combine alcaline diet and my goal of getting so fit to become a triathlon athlete. Do you have some recommendations where to start digging infos?
thanks very much and keep going. you’re doing really great stuff!!
Hey Daniel
I can definitely point you to a few great resources:

Will carbonating alkaline water with CO2 (using a soda maker by http://www.sodastream.com) turn it back into acid water even after using a chanson or adding lemon?
Yes it will.
Hi Ross you have me confused?
Rosemary asked you if she could use real lemon juice and you have replied “No not really you wont get any benefit from this.?
I use fresh picked Lemons from the tree. Maybe you were replying to another question?
can you please clarify.
And thank you for your help and assistance
Dennis
Hi Dennis
‘Real Lemon’ is a trademark of a product that is bottled lemon juice.
Cheers
Ross
What do you know and think about the Kangen Water system? I was looking into it a year ago already, and wondering if there is a cheeper way?
Monika
what is the best water to drink?i live in uk
Hi Ross
Thank you for all the work you do to get the alkaline message out to everyone.
For the past 26 years I’ve been drinking reverse osmosis water, 2 to 3 litres / day. For a few years I had my own reverse osmosis filter system but for a number of years now I buy it in the 5 gallon solid plastic jugs. How does reverse osmosis water compare to what you are calling ‘bottled water’?
What would you recommend as the best water to drink?
Cheers Bonnie
Gee, thank you very much Ross.
I drink lots of water; bottle, spring, water and I still have acid, reflux ,heartburn inflamation, dry skin , itchy skin, etc.
I will be all ears for the next videos. Had no idea I could be doing more harm to myself. I do try to eat heathy and I do have allergies.
Very interesting,
Janie
Thanks very much for your latest observation on tap and bottled water Ross. The water where I live has a ph of 6.0 (very acidic), so I will be attempting to change the ph over the next few weeks. In the meantime I will use whatever means that are handy, in order to get alkaline water. I have been doing a bit of research on alkalising my body, as a means of possibly preventing the return or progress of my bowel/liver cancer. It is very interesting how the general concensus of opinion leads me to believe that alkalising the body,(and keeping it alkaline), is probably the most important way of preventing, and possibly curing, MOST types of cancer. I will discuss this with anyone who is interested
Hi Ross
For the past six weeks I’ve been drinking water with lemon juice added to it first thing in the morning and last thing at night. During the day I add one teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate to one litre of water and drink about two to four litres per day. Is this a safe approach to adopt. I am diabetic.
What is the normal pH and specific gravity of urine? Can drinking this water and indulging in alkaline foods help maintain the body’s pH of 7.365? Please comment!
Brenda
Hi Ross,
Just a question about water… You’ve spoke about tap water & bottled water, but I live in the country and have a sand point well with a recently installed water filtration system ($$$).
I was just wondering about the potential acidity of rain water, which is essentially, what ground water is, I expect. My sand point well, which is grandfathered in ( you can no longer have such a well, as your source of drinking water, per code), draws ground water into my house, where it is filtered, as well as irradiated by a bacteria killing ultraviolet light. There are also water softening salts added, to achieve whatever ph values, that the salesman spoke of, but I wasn’t concerned with ph, then, so I didn’t pay much attention. I do remember that he told us that our water was purer than both city water and bottled water…
I would appreciate whatever you can tell me, on this subject.
Thanks,
Rocky
Hi Ross,
Great video! Many thanks. I presently use a Waterman water filter and add a couple of PH drops into each large glass of water.
Should I be doing more? I am worried about your comments regarding ORP.
Best wishes
Mark
Hi Ross,
Am amazed at what water CAN do for me. I live in Madrid, Spain, and the only filters I know of here are the ones you buy in pitchers and filter it yourself. Will that work for me? Also cannot find PH drops. Am using lemon juice in my water so far. When you tell me your ideas, will run out and buy that system for filtration. Currently am drinking bottled water on a stand…thanx for everything!
Lynda

Hey Ross, I currently have a under the sink reverse osmosis filter and also filter that water through a regular brita filter. I then add PHion PHbooster drops and lemon to this twice filtered water. I begin each day with warm lemon water and occoassional do a bit of baking soda in one glass of water. I make a green juice daily and sometimes twice a day with organic cleaned greens as well as following an alkaline based diet….why am I not feeling the results? Am I doing something wrong with the water? Thanks for your time! Lora
Hi Ross,
LOVED the video, I felt energised even watching it. I know that you are probably going to answer this is one of your next videos but I am keen to purchase a filter for my house, I live in London, UK. Can you recommend one for me that will not break the bank? I am getting married in July but would be happy to spend £250 or less if possible!
I look forward to hearing from you and keep up the great work!
Suzanne
Hi Ross,
a couple of questions….i have hypothyroid and ive heard the kind of water you drink can have an affect…any thoughts?…..also ive been buying alkalized water at the store in the organic isle but it is in plastic bottles…is this ok?
thank you
Erin
Hi Ross,
I am so excited about the information you are giving me, but I live in Johannesberg and nobody I have asked knows anything about these water filters which will ionise our tap water. Any ideas who I can contact?
Thanks, Angela
Hi Ross
I found your video really interesting as I also believe that good quality water is the key. I drink 2-3 litres of water per day with the puriphy Dr Young ph drops in them. As you were talking in your video about antioxidants in water it made me think, I don’t know what the ORP is for these drops. Could you enlighten me on this or are the Dr Young ph drops still good for me to use to achieve good ‘quality’ water each day.
Thank you, Julie
Hi Ross,
Came across your web site and very interested in changing my lifestyle to an alkaline one!
I have just ordered my ph drops thru your site, are these sufficient to alkalise and de-oxidise my filtered tap water?
Kind regards
Mandy
HI,
I have been drinking the lemon water on and off, not knowing if this was the right thing to do, since my results have not been as hoped for.
My question is ,
WHEN should we drink this water? sipping it through the day , or finishing it right there when it is prepared?(fresh) . I now know it must be lukewarm and about half a liter. But I have it from people that should know or have done it before , say best is to drink it right after waking up , ?
I will be looking forward to your answer.
I’ve purchsed a couple alkaline sticks for “waer-bottle travelling. I use a stainless steel water bottle. what is the lifetime of these sticks?
2 of my friends have purchased the counter top “Stanevia” system? Will this give me the best water?
Can a similar unit be purchased for under-the sink installation due to limited counter space?
Sharon
Great video. A little too long but yo got the pint across. I just recently purchased an water ionization system and am noticing the positive effects in just two short weeks.
Thank you for you efforts! I am looking forward to more videos.
I listened to the whole video, but I don’t believe you covered everything.
Lemon and sodium bi-carbonate?
You didn’t give any specifics in your video so I found it not that helpful for now.
I’ve followed Dr. Youny for years, but don’t really understand the specifics of what you are saying is better to do other than Lemon Water and the SB.
Regards,
Dan
Hey Dan
It was hard to cover everything while not making the video an hour long! Believe me – fitting it all in was HARD!
I cover lemon water and SB here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/2010/08/25/the-ultimate-comparison-of-alkaline-water-methods/
Thanks
Ross
Ross- what about adding a little Himalayan pink crystal salt to water once a day? Is this a good way to add healthy minerals to the water?
Hi Ross, Great video on the importance of water. I purchased an alkaway alkapod about 3 months ago and have seen a significant improvement in my psoriasis. I bought it as a first step before committing to a full ionising unit or tap at the sink. Wondering whether the alkapod is doing as much for me as a full unit could be? eg pH shift is probably not getting as high as 8 – although I havent measured it…..
If I was to invest in a full ionising unit, what would you recommend? – or is that coming in the next video?
Thanks for your comments.
Regards
Anne
Hi Ross,
ARE “ZERO WATER” FILTERS OK?? Thanks, Marcia
Hi Marcia
Can you send me a link?
Ross
Thanks Ross for the video info
Could you tell me what ph drops you use
I Distill my water, and have done so for nearly one and half years
but cannot find the proper way to alkalize the water without spending
a lot of money
Thanks for your time
Warren
Hey Warren
I wouldn’t drink distilled without adding alkaline pH drops/minerals back in. When I use pH drops I use pH Miracle or pHion.
Cheers
Ross
Does lime water have the same effect as lemon water?? Is Xylitol alkalizing? Thanks!
Xylitol is not alkaline-forming.
Lime has the same effect as lemon, yes.
Cheers
Ross
Thank you for this video can you tell me how much lemon juice to use with the 500 ml of water
at present I am usisng 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in 400ml of water but I also add coconut oil
3 teaspoons.
Many Thanks
Dennis
Hey Dennis
I use about 1/3 lemon to 500ml of water.
Cheers
Ross
Thank So Much for the information I live the u.s and was wondering do you offer some type of product or solution to add to our drinking water? Just curious about that.
I might also like to state that most of those that find themselves without the need of health insurance usually are students, self-employed and people who are out of work. More than half with the uninsured are really under the age of 35. They do not think they are wanting health insurance because they’re young as well as healthy. Their particular income is often spent on housing, food, along with entertainment. A lot of people that do work either complete or part time are not made available insurance by their jobs so they get along without owing to the rising valuation on health insurance in the us. Thanks for the thoughts you discuss through this web site.
Hi Ross. Thank you for the great information in your videos. You said that regular plastic bottles can leach chemicals into the water. Do you know a web site where safe bottles and containers can be purchased? Thanks. Diarmuid.
We have well water…and it tastes wonderful! I have done a pH test on it and it came out totally safe. Are you in agreement that it is ok to drink it?
Hey Justas
Without testing myself I’d be very nervous to give the all-clear!
Ross
Ross – thankyou for sharing so much of your knowledge: what you say is fundamentally useful and important; they way you share it is awesome- I have come to the alkaline diet through finding a cure for candida and acne, and what I have learned is such a help!
Thank you so much for sharing for free, but please don’t be shy and make it easier to find the links to purchase your water filters!
lorry
Hey Lorry
Thanks for your message and for your feedback. I really appreciate it!
If you’re looking for ways to reduce acne and candida then a water ionizer is a very powerful option for you.
Ross
Dear Mr. Ross,
Thank you for your video – “The Missing Piece”.
You suggest starting the day with a (8oz) class of “Lemon water”. However you did not specify how much lemon juice I should add to the (8oz) class of water.
Can you give a ROUGH estimate on how much lemon juice (i.e. drops, tsp or oz) I should add to an 8oz class of water to start my day?
I am looking forward to your reply.
Thank you for your time and anticipated cooperation.

Hey Alistair
Not sure in oz, but I usually use about 1/3 to 1/4 lemon per half liter.
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross-
Interesting. I’m still trying to find my path to reversing serious chronic/autoimmune type/chronic neuro lyme type illness. I’ve been on a highly raw diet(but not the ph miracle)- my raw food coach /intuitive that has helped reversed serous disease in others that I have talked to,, advises a high fruit/low fat type of raw food diet. I know this goes against Dr Young’s no sugar fruit theory. I have seen improvements, but also have an ovarian cyst that has gotten much worse while on the diet.
I have read that the best water is living water or spring water . Spring water supposedly naturally tests slightly acidic- so it makes me question the theory of alkaline water as being natural and the best water? What are your thoughts on living water/spring water?
My water is well water filtered with a 3 stage filter (which we installed 2 years ago) for arsenic, bacteria, chemicals. My well tests higher than the new standard for naturally occuring arsenic as do many wells in our region/state
Looking forward to this. Is there anyway you can em me the next videos…Thanks RICH
I am new to the alkaline system, I
Bought dr tongs book but do not know how to get started becos I can’t test my self pls advice
Hi Georgina
I recommend starting with the free 3-part video course on my homepage: http://www.energiseforlife.com
if tap water in not good drinking water.bottle water is even worst.
then what choice do i have,
also if i have my water analyzed, what am i looking for to be present in water by % and what should be not present in the water.are there any tables / chart showing this info.also who can preform these tests.
what is your view on well water.i do have a ph system and structure water kit in the house.
have u heard of asea water.comments.
waiting to hear from u.
thanks
Raffat
Thanks Ross, please keep me on your email list.
I bought the Millennium H2o brand alkalinizing minerals contained in a small tube to put in jugs of water. It takes 6 minutes to alkalize about a litre of water according to the salesman. I haven’t had the opportunity to test the ph level, but I wonder if I wasted my money or are they really working.
I have been drinking 2tsps apple cider vinegar , with half teas. raw honey in warm alkaline water in the morning… seems to be good. Also maintaining alkaline level by eating right and drinking alk. water directly from underearth mineral spring . Whaddaya think?
Hi Ross
fascinated by your videos, and I am starting out slowly with green drinks and lemon water,
my question is what about boiled water? does the ph change and is it any better for you?
how can i measure the ph of my drinking water? How many glasses of water need lemon juice added? how many need liquid chlorophyll added? how many need bi-carb soda added. Is there an exact quantity of lemon juice? /liquid chlorophyll ? per day? /per glass of water? look forward to your suggestions
Hi,
How can I measure the ph of my water? With a ph-strip?.
Thanks.
/Marie
oh its so nice of u, nowadays people is becoming so selfish. what about drinking boiled water with lemon. thank u
Dear Ross,
You are a life saver for this 66 year old. I always thought I was energetic and fit and healthy. How I feel now since following your advice is so much better. Even my stupid pain in the body which no one could explain is gone. The water filter I use is confusing though. How would I know that it is no longer filtering the water to the required ph. How do I know that it filters water as water comes out of it at fast speed?
I am a vegetarian so my diet is alkaline as I don’t like fat either.
Kindest wishes,
Sharanjeet
I buy reverse osmosis water. I also use 10 to 15 drops of cellfood in my water three times a day. Total of 2 to 3 liters per day. What is your comments on this.
Thank You
Marinella (mtl.)
My tap water is not filtered and I have been buying the Evamor Alkaline bottled water at a health food store in the USA. I recently learned about alkaline water and I know its the best water for me because I drink a lot of water. Buying the Evamor Alkaline drinking water is getting expensive how do I safely make my own alkaline water at home?
I have an individual size canister for alkalizing the water I drink. How do I know if it has reached the level of ph8 or higher? Instructions states to fill with hot tap water and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes. If too strong, to not let sit in canister as long. I then poor the water into clean stainless steel drink bottles.
Hi Brenda
Sounds similar to the ‘alkaline stick’ in that it will contain ceramic coated alkaline mineral balls(!) that help raise the pH of tap water by one pH – usually up to about pH 8.
I discuss this more in video 3 so stay tuned!
Ross
Can I replace the lemon with a grapefruit and get the same results. Todd from Michigan
Yep, pretty much – or lime, which is a nice change.
Dear Ross,
I am drinking 25 drops of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide in 8 oz of distilled water first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Is this alkalizing to the body; I am told that I am adding a great
deal of oxygen to my cells and hard-to-reach joints. I’d be grateful for your thoughts on this.
Thanks so much,
Alex
Hey Alex
I don’t like to encourage people to make their own pH drops using HP – so I’d really recommend buying formulated pH drops to use instead.
Ross
Hi Ross. This video was very encouraging. My husband and I, both of whom need to lose weight, have purchased a dehydrator, vitamix, food processor, etc. to start eating raw – or mostly raw for me. I am trying to mix in my O-diet foods as I feel best on them with the raw way. But I have been gaining weight! Well, I realized that eating all these nummy kale chips means I’m leaching all the available water out of my body to rehydrate the chips for digestion, and all the nuts and seeds are adding to the fats (as good as they are…) that I’m consuming. The last purchase we made a few weeks ago was a water distiller. I immediately found that I was getting that old familiar acidic feeling in my stomach and chest areas. So I did some research and found it is NOT alkaline once it hits the air. I bo’t some trace mineral drops and found it has helped a lot, though we haven’t tested the water’s alkalinity yet. I’ve been afraid to drink lots of the water, honestly, in case it’s another wrong road. But you’ve encouraged me to do so. I am looking forward to the next videos! Rock on!!
Hey Jody – I discuss water distillers in great detail in video 3 – so look out for that. I think it will be ready on Tuesday, maybe Wednesday next week!
It sounds like you’re on a journey of discovery! With the fats, I’d add that a LOT of these nuts and seeds will be giving you an imbalanced ratio of omega 3 to 9 – as most nuts and seeds contain lots of omega 9 -PLUS the oils we commonly use such as sunflower, olive etc are omega 9. So try to get at least 2 tablespoons of hemp or flax oil into your diet (or take capsules) – it will make you feel a LOT better.
With regards to the acid feeling you were getting it was (you’re right) because distilled water is acid forming. Definitely watch video 3 next week!
Ross
Hello!
My questions are, how do i make the water alkaline, filtered and anti-oxidant?
Which type of filter i have to use?
I drink 3L. of bottled water per day, with 1 lemon.
Is this ok?
Best regards,
Bruno Simões
Hey Bruno
To get all three – alkaline, filtered and antioxidant you need a water ionizer like this: http://www.energiseforlife.com/alkaline-water-ionizers/chanson-miracle-max-ionizer/
The ratio of 3 litres to one lemon is fine – i tend to go 1/3 lemon to 500mls, but whatever tastes good for you is fine!
Ross
How much lemon do you need to add to the 500ml of water?
About 1/3 to 1/4
Is there a sweetener that is alkaline friendly to use in smoothies etc?
The best (read: least acid forming) is stevia.
can you use lemon from Realemon Juice?
No, not really. You won’t get any benefit from this.
Hi Ross’
thank you once again for all the valuable information on the alkaline diet. I’ts been a few weeks since I started to introduce more green veg. to my every day diet. Already I can feel the difference, I have stopped eating as much fruit as I did & simply replaced it with loads of green veg. My day is started with luke warm water & lemon juice as you have advised if we dont have the water filtering system. I can appreciate the importance of the water intake doing damage if it hasn’t been filtered.
It’s been an enjoyable education listening to all the knowledge you have imparted to us, I look forward to my emails & videos very much…………..you’re remarkable Ross ……….
God Bless
JUNE.
June – thank you SO MUCH for your comment – it’s made my week!
Good vibes coming your way
Ross
Hi… I just watched the video… thank you… and it is frustrating… because I am doing everything right… eating a rich diet with vegetables & fruit… I can only access tap water… used to have a Life Ionizer Water Machine… sold it when I got back from my trip… needed the money… and I was also getting natural spring water from an underground spring… I have been out of spring water for well over a month… and I am waiting to get to this other spring that is closer to me…I can’t afford to buy another machine… and just can’t bring myself to do that… spend all that money to get good water… ITS RIDICULOUS!!! I am going to be relying on the spring water… and if I have to drink tap water in between then that is what I have to do… I do bless the water let it sit out all night so the chlorine comes out of it… I also have crystals in the water with fresh rosemary/sage. I am just beginning to use a Brita, I know its not the best… but its something… and I charge the water on a Sacred geometry mat as well with a beautiful prayer on a special altar that is made specifically for the water. Can I use Apple Cider Vinegar instead of Lemon? And I have heard that Baking Soda isn’t good for us at all… The Gerson Institute swears that it cause disease in our body??? Can you comment on this? And do you feel that Spring Water is the best choice of water to drink? Thank you.
Hey Dana
I appreciate your situation and congratulate you on all the steps you’re taking in your life to be full of vitality!
ACV is unfortunately acid-forming because it is fermented. I agree with the Gerson from the point of view that if people are adding Baking Soda to water for EVERY glass they drink this would be an insane amount to consume. I personally would have it once per day (1/4-1/2 a teaspoon at the most) and not more than that.
Totally get your frustration with the cost of the ionizer, but you can pay in interest-free installments if this helps: http://www.energiseforlife.com/alkaline-water-ionizers/chanson-miracle-max-ionizer/
Ross
Hey, Ross
I want to ask you about your opinion on my idea of creating the perfect water
I’ve read many materials, however, most of them are contradictory
Anywho, I think i’ve arrived at the final stop
Many say distilled water is the way to go, however VOCs cannot be removed by it. But then if you use a filtring jug, you eliminate those guys. So a distillator + filter creates the purest water.
But this water is ‘dead’ (yes, i believe that water has memory and can be structured, etc), with depleted memory. So now we structure it by many of the available means. However, its still acidic, because its deprived of vital minerals. Now we sip some himalayan/celtic salt or ionic minerals, and we have an absolutely pure, positively-charged, nutritional and alcaline water.
Am I mistaken somewhere on the way? I know this is a rough process but health comes with certain sacrifices.
Right now Im alternating between spring water from an ecological area and mineral water that has been through reverse osmosis and ozonation.
I’ll be very grateful for any remarks or suggestions on your side
Thank you
Hey Michael
Totally folliow your logic here, but check out the Chanson Ionizers – they do everything you are trying to do there in one unit!
http://www.energiseforlife.com/alkaline-water-ionizers/chanson-miracle-max-ionizer/
Ross
Hey thanks! I respect what your doing and it will come back : ) How do you feel about Dr. Young purify ph drops? Also I cant afford the water ionizer so what are some cheaper alternatives??
Hey
Dr Youngs drops are exceptional, really good. Stay tuned for video three because I review all of the drops and water methods in that video – shoudl be out on Tuesday.
Ross
Hi Ross
I’m enjoying watching your videos.
I have been suffering from acid reflux/gerd for 2 months. I’ve tried organic cider vinegar for a while. I was prescribed a Proton Pump Inhibiter tablet which didn’t help. I am currently just trying to eat as alkaline as I can. I like the idea of alkalising tap water by squeezing lemon into it however some acid reflux websites have lemons as a food to avoid. Not sure what to think. Any advice to help relieve/cure the pain would be greatly appreciated.
Laurence
Hey Ross! Just want to say I’ve been on the site for a couple of weeks now and your message is really starting to hit home…started drinking water when I was 25 (haha! it really is comical the life we lead…) just out of the tap until I was 27, still made a big difference and was better than nothing, and then at the end of last year I bought a Brita Water Filter, which has improved the texture which I thought would encourage me to drink more (I used to just put diluting juice in to disguise the ‘taste’)
It’s all rather silly.
But now watching this latest video, I realise there’s other, higher levels to get to. And that doesn’t intimidate or frustrate me…it excites me. I’m ready for the challenge – to pull my finger out and start taking hydration even more seriously. It goes without saying, but with these videos you’re making a really important difference to my life.
Yours sincerely, a fellow health nut,
Douglas

Hi Ross,
Many thanks to you for working so hard to share your knowledge for all of us! i have 2 questions:
First, about my filter water bottle i have been using. A camel back carbon filter. I’m not sure if it is the right way to clean the water but i can definitely taste the difference whenever I am giving tap water (usually as restaurants)!
Second, when you are using water for cooking do you need to used filtered as well, since I am usually boiling the water, I didn’t know if that would make a difference!
Love and Light, Suzanna, US
Is lime water alkaline? could you have this instead of Lemon? Also what type of alcoholic drink could you make that would be alkaline?
Absolutely
There are no alcoholic alkaline drinks! Sorry! Would be nice if there was!
Ross
Hi Ross
Love my lemon water in the morning. We get our water from our own well (about 360 ft deep ) It is some of the best water in the area (we are in the middle of British Columbia,Canada ) low iron, medium hard, so some minerals. We haven’t had it tested but I am wondering if I can use regular Ph test strips to find out the Ph? Also, would the oxidation factor be as big a problem in well water compared to tap or bottled water?
Great work!
HI ROSS MY NAME IS DEBORAH AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I WAS TO BOIL MY TAP WATER WILL IT PURIFY MY WATER BECAUSE I CAN’T AFFORD THE ALKALINE MACHINE THANK YOU
Ross… my question is a simple one…
What is the content (chemical formula) of the pH drops that you recommend?
I hope to catch on to your zest for healthy life… Thank you.
Hi I have a kidney transplant and am concerned about water quality wll alkaline water hurtmy kidney? Thanks pete
A BIG THANK YOU ! My skin has been in anuproar ( itching rash) for 10 years. My gut, at the moment is out of control. Anything I eat goes straight through, so no nutrition. At Last something sensible to follow ! I am waiting for the electrician to connect my Ionizer but lemon juice and bicarb will do me for now.
This is really facinating, have only just started on the lemon water, my friend Alex Sacco a nutritionalist pointed me in your direction, I myself a personal trainer will be advising my clients on the benefits of consuming an alkaline diet when I have considerable knowledge in this area, but to start with, the lemon water will be getting plugged, when are your next videos coming, so I can get me a water filter etc, great stuff..with thanks..Lewis
Hi Ross,
Thanks for the video. Just starting the pH diet for weight loss. I have lyme disease and I believe my endocrine system and thyroid and hypothalamus are all a mess. Have tried every diet on the planet with almost no effect, definitely no lasting effect. I’m definitely in that group you spoke of – trying to do everything right and so frustrated. What do you think about reversing disease like lyme?
hey I am in Australia, love your video, I have a friend who is big on water and he is big on fluoride and all the associated dangers, I have recently found out prozac an antidepressant med has fluoride in it. The history around fluoride is very scary…the Nazis used it…do you know about this , and if so what do you think?
regards julie
Ok Ross, I am 64 years old, is it a bit late in life for a de-coke, will this still work on older models ??
Cheers Mate what’s your opinion, Harry Liverpool UK.
Hi Ross….Thank you soooo much for all your exciting refreshing info!!….we need to spread the word about how simple it is to just get feeling healthy again…with Alkaline water!….what your video above has explained is the best news ever..and can’t wait to know which FILTER /IONISER to buy…a.s.a.p!
Have had challenges for years re Thyroid/Pituitary..am at last on right track via Bio Resonance etc…and changed diet to as Alkaline as poss…but now know, even tho filtering water for years (Brita)…those 3 Points about Water are what I now need to do..as you are right..am a bit ‘stuck’ re losing the weight in particular more quickly!!…..So…which product do I buy..am in SE UK.
I drink two glases of warm lemon water first thing in the morning which I make with 1 medium organic lemon in britta filtered water. Would it be beneficial to drink more of it?
Also I’m concerned about lemons and teeth enamel, do you know how to avoid enamel erosion from drinking lemon water?
Thank you,
Zenobie
Hi,
Great info btw! Just wanted to ask a simple one. I start my day with a pint glass of lemon, water (filtered in a Brita jug) and 2-3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Not the best thing first thing in the morning, but is this a good way to start the day and alkalize my body? One last one, I love rice cakes and eat about 10-15 a day with coconut oil or organic peanut butter. Is this alkalizing at all?
Cheers
Hi guys
Don’t forget to ask me your questions here!
Ross
Hi,I just learned about what effects tapwater was having on people’s bodies. You are very right. I,Myself started eating healthier and still had problems with weight, skin, digestion, female issues, etc…. 2 things I changed really made the most difference. Having properly filtered PH water and I just want to mention having low or no fructose in my diet and the ingrown toenails are gone,my skin is perfectly clear,I have lots of energy, my hair is growing long again,I don’t get sick even when i’m around others who are,my digestion is good and I am no longer allergic to citrus seafood and shellfish,YaY!!!! You are a beautiful man,you are spreading the news so and in that way,you are helping others to help themselves,Much love to you and yours. Be blessed!(: (: (: (:
Hi Katita
This is amazing – just goes to show that even fruit sugar is STILL sugar! I REALLY appreciate your contribution to my site – thanks so much!
Ross
Hi Ross,
First time reading you article. Very impressive.
I have a question. I have just changed my Amway water filter about 3 months ago. My main water is pretty clean and the Ph reading is 7.2 but after going through the Amway filter the reading is 5.8. Are you able to lighten me on this. I live in Melbourne Australia.
Thanks
Regards
Stanley
Hi Stanley
A lot of these quite full on filters strip ALL minerals from the water, including the alkaline minerals (such as calcium, magnesium etc) – so that’s why you’re seeing a lower pH reading.
Ross
I love your info it has opened my eyes. Ross I’m not trying to push a product but my health is important to me at 50 cancer scares the shit out of me .With the talk of bad tap waters i have an e spring water filtration system and i drink perfect water both from the Amway corporation .The perfect water is an amazing thing i don’t expect a comment back but am i on the right track with the things in the perfect water
Hi Steve
I’d have to look into ‘perfect waters’ – can you send me some more info?
Ross
I really appriciate your honesty about the effects of tap water on your body, i am 43 and i think that at this age that i should be in the best health of my life i am looking forward to your other videos.to assist me in achieving my goals in better health Thank You
No probs Hamilton – I hope you enjoy the rest of the vids.
Hi Ross My husband has active cancer is about to undergo more radio and chemo therapy. A friend put me onto your idea of highly active antioxidant water. Do you know of anyone else using this water to help fight cancer. I need to add that my husband is 83 and is not a water drinker and never has been.
Many thanks
Paula
Hi Paula
I’m not legally allowed to comment on any medically diagnosed condition – but I suggest you look up Dr Robert Young’s youtube channel.
Ross
Great stuff Ross. For what it’s worth you might be encouraged to know that I am now over 80 with a specialised anti-aging business! I’ve been casually following Dr Young and yourself for some time. I “bolt on” and “test” any of your respective recommendations that don’t already confirm my own findings. I first worked out a training diet for tackling a charity bicycle challenge in Egypt of 6 days from Luxor to Aswan and back, when I was 68. We rode a total of 500 km in daily stages of 60 to 85 miles max a day. Very briefly, I’m a scientist and knew a bit about the pH balance so I stopped eating anything containing over-refined sugar, flour, hydogenated oils, and so-called healthy synthetic additives like stuff from the chemist. My wife and I only drink filtered water and take it in the car etc only in ex-Pellegino GLASS mineral water bottles. I drank a mug of boiled water with half a lemon and sometimes half a teaspoon of baking soda before 15 mins of Qigong exercises and a boiled egg (and/or porridge) and double espresso for breakfast every morning, and still do. Counting the naturally bio-filtered mineralised water already in my salads etc, and in my Red wine or Malt Whisky shot (most evenings) I got through 3-4 litres a day – no problem. So there you have it – it works – now I’m waiting for your amazing water filterr offer! PS I’ve also found that water remembers what you tell it and it can also read – don’t believe me? Read the well-known Japanese Prof. Ermeto on the subject …
Hey Sir Tom
Fanstastic to read – absolutely my favourite comment of the year.
I agree with everything you’ve said and your philosophy 100%.
Please do keep in touch
Ross
very informative, i have been looking into this for a while and i do drink lemon in my water but i was only using rain water out of a galv tank. ill be sure to look into a filtration system now!! cheers lou.
Keep in touch Lou – let me know if you have any questions at all
Ross
Hi Ross,
I am always please to see your emails in my in box, I have been passing your website on to all my friends, Thank you for all your valuble info.
I really struggle with fatigue, my general diet is pretty good as I eat loads of fresh veg each day and plenty of fruit, I have been drinking filtered watered for about 13 years, and recently thanks to you lemon water every day which has made a huge difference to my slugishness. But i am addicted to tea and sugar I dont want to give them up, I have cut down the amounts I have. If I think ‘im not going to have any cake today’ I am really grumpy by the time my kids get home from school can you suggest anything.
Gratefully Sam.
Hey Sam – glad you like my emails! Sorry it took me a while to get to this comment! Your fatigue will be directly linked to the sugar you have, and I’d bet you have candida overgrowth in your system because of it. If no sugar is making you grumpy….it’s pretty much clear cut that this is what it is.
Try to get the sugar right down and get your fix from fruit.
Cheers
Ross
Hi Ross
Just wanted to tell you about how the small change to lemon water helped me.
Like many other women, as I have got older I have become more prone to cystitis (although fortunately not as much as many others out there). I was away in the mountains when I first got tell-tale symptoms and said to my husband that I was going to have to drive the few 100kms out of the mountains the next day to see a doctor. All the usual non-mediacal approaches I have tried in the past – drinking cranberry juice, homeopathy etc – has failed, I have never been able to reverse the symptoms and have always, much against my health ethics – ended up on antibiotics.
Long story short, I dosed myself fairly heavily for the next few hours with lemon water and went to bed dreading the drive out the next day. I couldn’t believe it when I woke up in the morning with not a sign of those unmistakeable cystitis symptoms.
If just lemon in my water can do that, I perfectly buy the full monty of filtering etc. Thanks for your help. Peta
Hey Peta!
That’s an awesome email – thanks SO MUCH for sharing! It’s amazing what a difference a few small things can do.
Ross
hi Ross ![]()
thanks a mill for all the info, I think this was a missing link for me, though i had been thinking of it, but not knowing how to proceed. Well done, your videos are superb, now to questions ??
1. Can I use the Stick pH meter in anything else than *water?* (juices?? etc)
2. would Hydrogen Peroxide 33% food, help to Alkalize water ??
3. the quickest way to alkalize myself, would that be to ingest the tablets pH+ ??
thank you Ross for your time, appreciate your help
kind regards
terese
Hi Tess
No worries, I love to help
Here’s your answers:
1) by this do you mean the pH meter I use in my videos or the pH strips that you test your saliva and urine on? The digital meter can be used on anything at all, which is fun for testing things! The strips can only be used on saliva and urine – not even water.
2) I wouldn’t mix my own pH solution with hydrogen peroxide, definitely not. The products that are made are extremely high concentration and it would be potentially quite dangerous to mix your own quantities and solutions. At best it would be too weak and do nothing, at worse it could be terrible for you. Please, everyone, don’t make your own supplements or ionizers!
3) THe pH Plus tablets are very good indeed. I like them a lot when travelling. Your question to alkalise yourself ‘quickly’ is hard to answer. To have a quick alkaline impact you can take in either high alkaline foods or alkaline supplements – but if your body has got a long history of acidity then this will be temporary and you need to consistently give your body the tools it needs to get rid of the debris left behind by an acid-forming lifestyle and keep up the alkalinity. This is best achieved with alkalising foods and drinks and with supplements as backup…
Hope this helps!
Ross
Hi Ross
Please could you advise me regarding drinking lemon water. I started to do this a few weeks ago, and was getting on fine. However, about one week or so into this, the acid reflux flared up very badly and i had to stop. I understand that lemon is alkaline in the body, but my question is, if one has had reflux in the past, can lemon water trigger it and it flare up again. I was scared the lemon had “burnt” the osephagus.
Thanks for the video. I am quite new to starting the alkaline diet and am convinced water and the right type is key.
Regards
Julie
Do you have a transcript of the video? My internet is too slow to load the video.
Hi Janice – I’m working on this! Thanks Ross
HI thank you for clarifing this so we can correct the result of making our diets better.I will try this newer way to cahnge. and see if it will make me fill better. our drinking has a ton of clorine in it you can tase it when you drink it. so i stopped drinking it andwent to bottled water.but now i can see i need to get a good filter. and hope that will work to remove the clorien.so we can us our tap water.i’ll try your suggestions and see what happens . thanks let you know later if it works for me. Martha.
Good luck Martha – let me know how it works for you!
Hi Ross
I have been using X2O sachets sold by a company called Xooma in the US. They claim that the sachets give your water a ph of 9.9 and a negative ORP. Have you heard of them and if so, do you know if the claims are true? I have no way of testing them myself but I have been using these sachets for a number of years now because I suffer from psoriasis and when I drink lots of this water it keeps me 90% clear, but a week or two back onto tap water and the psoriasis comes back, so I’m guessing there must be some truth to the claims. It’s expensive, so I’m looking for an alternative long term and will await your next video for some advice. Thanks, looking forward to hearing more…
Hi Louise
I can’t say for sure but I’d doubt it. I’ll order some and test it.
Ross
Hey Ross,
I do understand the importance of filtered water but with so many on the market today can you recomend a brand and particular type. Is it more than just having a filter with carbon filters ??
Absolutely – there is a LOT to it. I don’t like to go into the negatives of other units or mention names, BUT I strongly recommend the Chanson brand. Watch out for video 3 on Tuesday.
Ross
Hi Ross,
Even though I have known about drinking water I can’t say I have been very good about it. Anyway my question is. We have a rain water tank which has a filter attached to the outlet. Is this water good for drinking? We are using it in our kettle, steemer, and drinking water. Also my husband and I have been taking Bicarb every morning and last thing at night. I see this is too much. Would it be better to have the lemon water in the morning and the bicarb at night?
Thank you so much for you articles they are very informative.
Hi Patricia
It is impossible for me to know with regards to the rain water filtration without it being tested, but I would get it tested if you’re drinking this water…
As for your husband – how does he feel? Also – how much is he using each morning and night?
Ross
I have been drinking 1 lemon to two liters of water 2x a day. Is this ok
Thats great Rea.
can I use limes instead of lemons? I drink Volvic Bottled Water is that good ?
Hi Sabine
You can use lime…
As for the bottled water – you’d have to watch just 3 mintues of any of my videos and you’d know the answer to that
Ross
Hi Ross,
Need your opinion please. i drink this mixture first thing every morning ; 1 mug lukewarm water plus 1/2 tsp bicarb soda plus 1 tsp apple cider vinegar.
Is this of any benefit?
thanks
Hi Rashida
Drop the ACV – it is fermented and thus acid-forming. See more here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/2011/06/29/alkaline-diet-questions-with-gareth-34/
Ross
Hi if you cannot drink tap or bottled water what do you drink and how do you make it
regards rose
Look out for video 3 on Tuesday!
Ross
thank you so mutch for the brilliant video. Im 82years old and in the past ten years have had five attacks of Pancreitis, in my last attack the doc said ‘the main trigger for an attack is dehyration’ so how mutch better am I armed by you and the knowledge you are spreading, more power to you and ,as dave used to say,may your God go with you
Good luck John!
I take 2 litres of filtered water to work every day with 1/2 of lemon juice in per plastic bottle. My only concern is does the acidity of the lemon juice penetrate the plastic bottle and thus affect the filtered water. Also I find the steel bottle you recommended has a very small opening which makes cleaning difficult esp the lemon sentiments tend to stick the side/bottom of the bottle.
Hi W
It could. I don’t recommmend using plastic bottles at all unless they’re food grade or BPA free. i.e. don’t reuse plastic water bottles from the shop. The SS ones often do have a small enclosure which is annoying but you can buy these types of brushes from the supermarket and they clean them up great. We’re working on getting an Energise SS bottle with a nice big enclosure!

What is ozoned water and how is it related with alcaline water? In Greece a lot of China made devices that produce water with ozon are promoted as health – guaranteed devices.
Hi Efi
They’re not related and to be honest I don’t believe there is enough study done on ozonated water yet to make me fully convinced it is 100% safe.
Ross
I have been on your alkaline diet for 6 months, and have begun to get frustrated as my sinus/post nasal drip issues have not changed. In the last week I have also been looking at better water, I watched your video this evening and it confirmed that this is what I have been missing. Last week I found a “bottled water” made by Iceland Spring, which advertises a ph of 8.88. I did not think anything about this, until I began drinking the water – after a full day of drinking about 3 liters, I noticed a difference in my health issues. They are far from perfect, but I feel this is the right direction. My question: are ALL bottled waters too bad, or is this one by Iceland Spring one that will help until I can get a better, filtered system in place. Thank you.
Hi Sharon
It’s hard for me to say with total accuracy unless I physically test the water, but as you’ll see in video 2 (which just went live – you can watch it by clicking the link above) bottled water advertised pH is usually quite misleading as the pH degrades over time, settling around 6.8.
Cheers
Ross
I liked your video very much about alkaline water. It all makes sense. I do have lemon water from time to time, but realise this isn’t enough. Please would you tell me should I squeeze the whole lemon into 5ooml. of filtred water or half?
Hi Rosemary
No, it’s about 1/4 to 1/3 of a lemon per 500ml of filtered, lukewarm water.
Ross
Hi Ross,
I am just starting out on this alkaline approach and I am certainly getting confused.
Can you explain this?
I purchased some bottles of mineral water with a stated PH of 8.5 This water is packaged in PET plastic bottles. For some reason I decided to test this water as I was drinking 2 litres a day.I used Pool Test Strips. The PH was less than6.2 and yet the total Alkalinity was around 80 ppm Am I doing something wrong here?
Cheers,
John
Hi John
I go through this a bit in video 2 but bottled water displaying pH is misleading unless they state ‘At Source’ as the pH degrades over time and they usually settle around pH 6-6.5
Cheers
Ross
Hi Ross
I had been twice for th Z factor.
I have the Chanson 3-stage filter and ionizer. I understand the importance of drink the alkaline water. Would the body become too alkaline? since the body needs to be maintain app. 7.0 if pople has alkaline diet and also drink the alkaline water. I usually get very dry mouth and tearing eys if I drink too much alkaline water and I have to reduce at the pH from 9.5 to 8.0. Recently I have been feeling really tired. I drink app 2 L of the ionized water every day (I am only 49 kg in weight).
How often the HP 3-stage filter need to be changed?
Many thanks
Jing
Hi Jing
I recommend drinking the water at around pH 8.5 for at least 3 weeks to allow your body to adjust.
The 3 stage filter needs to be replaced every 12 months or so.
Cheers
Ross
I ordered and received your phion Booster recently and followed closely the directions for use. After applying the recommended 6 drops per 8.0 ounces of water (I mainly drink bottled water from Poland Springs) I found that the pH of the treated water was still quite low (approximately 6.0 pH). I tested the pH of the water prior to treatment and found that the pH was approximately 5.0. To get the pH up to the 8.0-9.0 range that I am interested in I literally had to put 30 drops in the water. My question is is this unusual and do I have to worry about using this much pH booster in my water and should I use a corresponding amount of the Ion booster. Please elaborate. Thank you. Peter Thompson.
Hi Peter
How are you testing the pH? If you’re using the strips in the pack or the pH strips for saliva and urine, these only work with bodily fluids. To test the pH accurately you’d need a pH meter like the one I use in video 2.
Cheers
Ross
Thank you for the water video, I have just purchased a filter jug a “Dream Tree Pitcher”, hope its the right one.
My question is, is diluted apple cider vinegar alkalizing.
Thanks a million. Keep up the good work.

Catherine
Hi Catherine
It’s a good start
Ross
Hi Ross
I note there are a lot of people asking about acid effects on their teeth. As we know most of our toothpastes have fluoride in them and the jury seems to still be out on the benefits or not. Since we are all trying to do what’s best and avoid any unnecessary toxicity, what toothpaste would you recommend?
Many thanks
Wizz
Hi Wizz
I don’t agree with fluoridising drinking water – I simply don’t think something that is designed to ‘harden’ should be consumed in our water at a rate of 3-4 litres per day, every day. That could be a very simplistic approach, but hey, I prefer to keep things simple
The fluoride in toothpaste is fine as this is not swallowed, but you could switch to an arm and hammer type toothpaste that is sodium bicarbonate based?
I tried a Colgate herbal toothpaste a few years back and to be honest, it smelled and tasted like cheese…! So I went back to A&H…
Ross
Hi Ross,
Youre videos have been great and I have been eager since watching your first video about hydration and the type of quality and have been on the site constantly to see where the link was to make this water. However, I have watched all the other videos except how to actually make the water you’re describing, it keeps saying there is an error. Is there anyway you can send me the link to watch how to actually get started, PLEASE! Thank you so much and well done!
Uyai
Hi Uyai
This 2nd and 3rd videos are not available yet – they will be available soon! The 2nd one is live tomorrow (Wednesday) and the 3rd, I am hoping, will be ready on Monday!
I’m doing them as we speak! This is all fresh new content!
Ross
Does it have to be a fresh lemon? What about the lemon juice bought in a bottle? Lemons are different sizes….how much are we looking at a tablespoon or a teaspoon for 500 ml (2 cups) water? thanks.
I am already trying to quit breads….so I guess this is a good next step.
Hi Linda
Good step on the breads! The lemon has to be fresh to get the benefit (other than flavour) and I use around a 1/3 to a 1/4 per 500ml. There are no hard and fast rules, you can be pretty relaxed about it.
I’ll show you the water step by step in my next video tomorrow…
Ross
Thanks for the inspiring video, love your enthusiasm! I am a single parent on disability benefit as I have M.E, which is why I am turning to alkalising as I’m desperate to get well, but please tell me how i can do this on a budget of next to nothing. I will definitely commit to lemon water and a week of bicarb, easy and cheap, but where do I go from there? I’m becoming more and more disabled and it’s driving me crazy!
Thankyou for the flow of good, free information and karma.
Hi Sarah
Well done on taking initiative for yourself and your kids – very cool. You can definitely do everything on a budget – have a look at my http://www.alkalinedietmadeeasy.com tutorials. I think they’re available at the moment, they aren’t always, but there are LOADS of tips in there.
Plus if you sign up on my homepage http://www.energiseforlife.com you’ll get my beginners guide for free there too with more tips!
Ross
You said how to prepare alkaline with lemon. Please let me know the kind of water and ratio of lemon juice and water to make glass of water or a litter otherwise. Can we use bottled water available in our country .
Hey Abdul
This is all covered in video 2 which is available in under 24 hours!
Ross
Ross hi again, the name of the company in South Australia that sells those urn looking water dispensers with filters is Aquadome so yeah go to http://www.aquadome.com.au
See ya
Sophie
Awesome, cheers Sophie – I’ll look into it…
Hi Ross
I already had a good filtration system and just bought an alkaline filter from the website below
http://www.waterfiltersautralia.com.au – the filter was only $140 whereas there are expensicve ionizers that cost $2500 that i was tld i didnt need. Do you have similar filters?
Now i fill up plastic bottles with this water hwoever you state that these plastic bottles leak carcinogencis…what is the best way to store alkalined filtered water?
What hapens when you boil alkaline water in the kettle for acup of coffe/tea? Also heating in soup etc
David
Hi David
There are some pro’s and con’s to the filter you have:
1) the water is washed over alkaline mineral stones much like our water jug here: http://www.energiseforlife.com/item–Alkaline-Water-Jug–ALKJUG.html so you get a raised pH
2) it’s under the sink and out of the way
The con’s are:
1) you absolutely don’t get a consistent ORP measure. If it was able to achieve negative ORP this will only last a while until the filter loses this effect as the filter gets clogged with the excess calcium plus the toxins in the water
2) Tourmaline is one of the specific untested minerals I am concerned about in these filters.
3) as it is for use with RO I don’t think this actually filters your water at all
4) there are a lot of other benefits to the ionizers that more than make up for the cost such as the acid water production that creates anti-bacterial, sterlilising water you can use to replace cleaning products, for use on the skin (gets rid of acne, eczema etc and removes wrinkles!) and the super strong alkaline water (pH 11+) that removes all pesticides and chemicals from vegetables…
You can’t really compare these cheaper units to an ionizer. They do absolutely do one thing very well, they do increase the pH by around 1 to 1.5, but they don’t filter and they don’t give ORP or the superstrong acid or alkaline water…
I have tried boiling ionized water in a kettle and it maintains pH at the level it went in, but I haven’t tested for other methods and whether the pH is maintained.
Cheers
Ross
OH and apologies I missed a question in there!
For bottles I recommend either BPA free, which you can get from the likes of Kathmandu or the other camping shops (Black Mountain?!) or stainless steel bottles, which seem to be popping up everywhere now! THey look like this: http://www.sigg.com
Let me know if you have any other questions buddy
Cheers!
Ross
What brand of water should I buy? Is there a particular machine that I can buy that would produce alkaline water?
Hi Susan
I address all of this in lots of detail in video three which will be ready very very sooon!
Ross
Hi Ross, thanks a lot for this informative video! I have to say although I have switched to more Alkaline diet I still don’t see the boost of energy that I was expecting. Furthermore, I still feel my health is breaking down everywhile like getting a cold although I am eating so much vegetables, and avoiding junk food and soft drinks. The points you are mentioning could be one of the reasons for this. I will need to experiment and see…
Hi F.A.
It all depends on where you’re coming from too – if your diet was quite acidic before it is likely it will take a while for your system to clear out. When our digestive system is clogged from an over acid diet the intestinal walls get pretty covered with yeast and bacteria, meaning a lot of the good stuff we consume doesn’t get absorbed. This slowly works itself out, OR you can do an alkaline cleanse for a few days to a week…which is a whole other blog post…or three:

Hi
This is a great video, however I have a problem as I have an intolerance to lemons. Is there an alternative you could suggest please?
Hi Sarah
Yep – the bicarb.
Cheers
Ross
y and drinking a glass of lemon juice but I found my ph samples were still not that good. Like you I wondered if my filtered water was acidic and I now squeeze some more lemon into my jug of water each day and I find my ph is now around 7. My question is, I gather 1/2 teaspoon bicarb once a day is to further help alkalinity, is there any reason why I cannot put the 1/2 teaspoon into my daily jug of water along with the extra lemon juice? Thank you for your comments and you are so right about the water being acidic, I never gave it a thought until a few days ago and decided to try the extra lemon juice in my daily jug. I know I must obtain an alkaline body if I am to havre any chance of beating a melanoma
Hi Ross
I am 39 years old and I suffer from acid reflux and esofaghitis and gastritis, I want to try the alkaline water regime but I do not know for how long I can do the sodium bicarbonate because of my acid reflux problem, I got to tell you that I’ve tried all, but no results yet, Is this going to help me with this problem? Is ok to drink filtered water (which I drink usually) but with lemon if I have this problem? Thanks.
Hi Ross,
Thank you for the video explaining about good quality water, it is fascinating what you are saying. This is new information for my ears, and it has made we wonder if what I am doing is right.
I have a Franke Triflow tap in my kitchen, and I use replacement water filter cartridges with it. I assumed that this made the water a better quality for drinking, but I am wondering if you would know will it make the quality as good as you are saying is needed?
I have been recently diagnoses with diabetes. However, I am determined that I will rid myself of this situation. I had figured out that water must be a big factor, so I have started a new regime. But now I realize that I know NOTHING.
i would be grateful if you could advise me on this. Thank you so much.
Hi Christine
I can’t legally make suggestions with regards to specific conditions, but Dr Young can and on his youtube channel he has lots of videos about diabetes:
http://www.youtube.com/user/pHMiracleCenter
Hope this helps!
Ross
Hai, I just yuor deliberation, presentation plus the informations are really fantasstiv, I am also on the look out for the best quality water, as you have sugested fresh lemon water for the past three days I am drinking lemon water,& I will continue the same & I would like to watch out what difference it makes.Having said that I have query or request that would please provide me chart indicating what are all the incrediants that normal tape will contain,& once it is filtered what are all the good quality making ingrediants are filtered off there by rendering the water useless.
On getting your feed back I may come back to you again. Thanks for sparing your time sir. BYe for now.
Dear Ross,
I used to drink half of a fresh lemon in a glass of water in the morning, but I stopped due to it being damaging to the enamel on my teeth. Do you agree that lemon juice damages your teeth?
Also I understand the same applies to apple cider vinegar. Do you agree this also damages teeth enamel?
I tried to reduce exposure to my teeth to fresh lemon in water, but it is impossible to suck fresh lemon juice through a straw as it has parts of the fruit in it which blocks the straw.
I look forward to your reply.
Anne.
Hi Anne
The lemon juice, pure, is around the same pH as coffee and cola, which I agree is not ideal for the teeth – but diluted down it is far less harmful. I have been drinking lemon water for years and haven’t had any questions from my dentist yet
If you are concerned you could either use the bicarb/mineral salts instead or simply wash your mouth out with plain water right after.
Cheers
Ross
Sir, firstly I want to thank you for the superb work you have done in the fleld of nutrition . I want to increase my height and energy , so I neede to knpw the best exercises , best food combinations
Hi Mohit
The best starting place would be my homepage where there is a signup to a 3-part beginners guide:

Hi Ross, Love your site, love the free info. I have been struggling with digestive problems since september, had a parasite, treated it herbally, but still didn’t feel any better, just had another test which has detected another parasite, so need to get rid of that, just feel bad most of the time. My question is will good water and an alkaline diet (I haven’t had any suger, dairy, meat for months – I seem to be intolerant to so many foods) get rid of a parasite?
Thanks Sue
PS Dont know where I picked up the parasite, but my daughter has had it and so has my husband.
Hi Sue
I feel for you – they can be tricky.
A full alkaline cleanse may help:
http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/2009/01/13/alkaline-cleanse-the-basics/

http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/2009/07/07/diary-of-an-alkaline-cleanse/
But there are quite powerful herbal supplements out there that do a great job including vitaklenz – I strongly recommend this
Ross
Please le me know about the regular alkaline water sell in the natural food store?
I need to drink very good water, I have problem with my kidney becuase the water , your advice is very appreciate
THanks
Hi Patricia
Any bottled water claiming to be alkaline is misleading. While it may have been alkaline on being bottled, the pH degrades over time. I tested several that all claimed a pH of between 7.4 and 8.5 and they were all in the pH 6-7 range.
Ross
Hi Ross,
This is great and perfect timing. Thank you. I have just started a course on natural nutrition and the first unit is all about the importance of hydration! Looking forward to your next videos. In the meantime I will be drinking lemon water each morning plus one glass with bicarb added.
Christina
Great stuff Christina!
I already have a reverse osmosis (under sink) water filter from the H2O company ..so hope that this is one you would recommend.
I am recovering from breast cancer , and my husband is hypothyroid so we need all the help we can get. We have been following a mainly vegetarian diet since january and do feel better for it , but are always looking for ways to improve our health further.. so Ross , thank you for all your information
I’m out to buy more Lemons….!
Hi Sandra
RO is fantastic to remove impurities, BUT it can often leave a mildly acidic pH and +ORP. I go into this more in video 3…which is coming very soon…
Ross
Hello,
I have land with a well (but no house yet) so I use my well water, which is delicious and has been tested and shown to be free of pathogens, contaminants. Does that have to be filtered? Thanks alot.
If you’re comfortable with the test reports then you’re probably fine! I’d test the pH though – well water can often be quite low…
What is the best container to carry around the greens/soups/etc? BPS versus metal? Also, how do you get the odor out of the BPA plastic bottles.
thank you
Sarah
I prefer the stainless steel bottles like at http://www.sigg.com – but BPA free bottles (like the ones at camping shops) are very good too.
We have a good filtration system ( four filters) and ionizer. We are drinking water with 9.5 PH.
Can you drink too much of this water. I sometimes feel the more I drink the thirstier i am?
You opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
Hi Colleen
You can’t really drink too much of this water in comparison to any other water. i.e. if you drank 50 litres of ANY water it wouldn’t be good
You sometimes feel thirstier because of the microclustering. As Ronnie Ruiz says:
Electrolyzed water is broken down into smaller molecule clusters due to its electric charge. The tiny polarized water clusters are able to pass through smaller pathways in cells, allowing deeper penetration and hydration of these parts. Ionic alkaline water is up to six times more hydrating than conventional neutral pH water!
So as this water is better absorbed and penetrates deeper, your body asks you for more! Tap water just washes straight through.
Ross
Dear Mr. Ross, can I use iodized salt instead of sodium bicarbonate? is that the same? how many ml of water in 1/2 tsp of sodium bicarb? How about the lemon water, is it Half or the Whole lemon to be mix with 500ml warm water?
Hi Sony
I’d have to see the packet to be honest. But sodium bicarb is pretty cheap so maybe just use that. Another option is pink himalayan sole salt. You can drink it with whatever quantity of water you like! It’s all down to taste. Some people can’t stand the taste so mix it into a litre of drink that over an hour or so, others don’t mind it and can knock it back with 100ml. It doesn’t really matter.
For the lemon water I usually use 1/4 or 1/3 lemon per 500ml.
Cheers
Ross
Hi Rpss,
Instead of filtered water , we drink double distilled water that has zero chemical analysis.
and probably neutral ph.
We sometimes add collodial minerals to this. However we would not drink more than 1 lt a day.
How important is the quantity and would this type of water be recommended?
Thanks
Neil
Hi Neil
Do you mean that you don’t drink more than 1 litre of water in total or just no more than 1 litre of distilled water?
If it’s the first option then I recommend you get your water intake up to at least 3 litres. If its the second, then don’t restrict it too much. What I’d recommend generally is this:
Distill your water and add pH drops or colloidal minerals (I think I know the mineral brand you’d be using in AUs and it’s not cheap so pH drops might be better) – this makes it pH around 8 and well filtered so you can drink your 2-4 litres of this each day…and feel awesome!
P.S. -Or – should I ditch the bottled, buy a filter jug for the tap water and bicarb that?
And which filter jug is best (that won’t make the water too acidic)?
Hello again Sue!
Yep, ditch the bottled, buy a jug. I recommend our Alkaline Filter Jug, which you can find on energiseforlife.com
On the bicarb point, I only really recommend this once per day as a starting point and if you use the alkaline jug it’s probably not necessary.
For other jugs (I’m guessing you might be overseas) I’d really look for one that advertises it is specifically an alkaline jug as the Brita type jugs takes tap water and somehow makes it more acidic!
Ross
Is it ok to use bottled water with bicarb dissolved in it?
Hey Sue
Your question suggests you didn’t watch the video too closely!
I don’t recommend bottled water. You’re better off with filtered tap water, and then add the bicarb – but only 1/2 a teaspoon, once-per-day.
In my next two vids I teach you LOADS more about this and will answer your question more thoroughly!
Ross
Hello Ross
Have just watched your video and believe you to be very genuine regarding people’s health. On ya! Keep up the great work.
Anyway, our household has just installed a Tap Water Filter from the Australian Company called Pura Tap. I believe it filters out the following:
Lead, Arsenic 5(VOCs), Herbicides (Alachlor), Pesticides (Furadan), Trihalomethanes (THMs) and Chlorine.
Is this enough? I do know that our Aust Water also contains Fluoride and it obviously does not take it out because I can taste something unusual in the water (in fact the good old tap water tasted better – I suppose I will get used to the new taste).
Do I need to do anything more with this Installed Pura Tap Filter? Ie do I need to have the fluoride taken out as well as any other chemicals that may be in the australian water?
thanks for your consideration to this question.
yours truly Merie
Hey Merie
Heh, guessed you as Aussie with your ‘on yer!’ – love it.
It’s great that all of those toxins are removed – such a shame it doesn’t take out the fluoride too. I’d definitely look to something to increase the pH too – which state are you in?
Your options from here (as this has knocked off the filtration issue) are pH drops or an ionizer.
I’ll go through those in heaps of detail next week.
Cheers
Ross
hi Ross ,
Like you i have been looking at ways to increase my energy and sustainable feeling of good health,i have been looking for the last 20 years, and in the early 90′s i found a living system called (FIT FOR LIFE), now this way of living has been around for a lot longer and when i found it there was no internet so the library was where i was able to get proof as to what they were suggesting had some medical basis.once i had some explanation’s i tried it upon myself,i’m not fat or needing to loose weight it was all about helping me to live a healthier and energized life,it worked, not only that i have a twin brother and so i have been able to compare how he lives with the few changes i have made to my life and the major effects that are physically apparent ,so to give you an idea of the differences, for one i have very little or no grey hair but my bother is going grey,i get comments from fellow staff at where i work, e.g.your never 50years old, they all say i look like i’m still in my late 30′s to early 40′s,but they also talk about water and how to get the best.
there is also a gentleman who has started teaching ,how to live to 100 years and he has done research for the last 20 or so years in to living longer, he may be of use toward your own work, his name is Mellon Thomas-Benedict try the link and let me know ‘ http://www.eftbooks.com/Mellen-Thomas/Live-to-100.pdf ‘
I find all you are doing and saying very interesting thank you very much.
Chris Jarrett
Hey Chris
That’s awesome. I read Fit for LIfe back in the day too – it was amazing at the time.
How cool to have a twin to compare yourself to! Doesn’t he get motivated when he sees how great you look?
Thanks so much for contributing here, I really appreciate it – keep up the good work.
Ross
Oh dear. This is exactly the kind of thing that frustrates me.. Sorry, but a huge waffle at the beginning followed by it all being repeated but in text form.
And didn’t you say a chance conversation a few weeks ago then wrote the conversation was a year ago?
OK. So you have to make a profit and this means advertising but don’t tell me it’s all about the Karma. You are advertising. Subtle and not in your face but you are. Which, again, is fine but please these sort of ‘tutorial’ videos need to be half the length. By being so long and drawn out they begin to put me off. And if they do that to me they’re doing it to others. I say this in a constructive manner. Hope my comments help.
Hi Simon
You’re of course welcome to your opinion, but this is the 1st negative comment I’ve had out of over 200, so for me a 99.5% happiness rating suggests everyone else so far really liked my content.
I also say the conversation with Dr Y was “late last year…” in both instances, but either way thanks.
I appreciate your feedback so thanks for taking the time to let me know.
Cheers
Ross
Awesome! This is really sincere, really well done. I’ve been drinking alkaline water for 4 years – using or at least testing 4 different brands of home water ionizer from the most expensive to the least. They all work, and I highly recommend taking advantage of the various financing programs from different lines so there’s no excuse about
not affording it.
Hey Marissa
Very cool, glad you’ve been going so long with it! The differences I’ve seen between them (sometimes the most expensive is not the best, actually, THE most expensive is definitely not the best) are in:
- very few can get the super-low pH 3 water that is SO beneficial
- very few get consistent -ORP
- very few get a good performance at a flow rate that is workable. With my old one I was so sick of having to wait 4 minutes for a litre to fill as at any speed faster than this the performance went completely…and this unit cost me over £1400!
The financing we offer definitely helps a LOT of people afford it!
Ross
Hello Ross, great video. I am 49 years old and was diagnosed with MS in 2002. Three MS attacks left me partially blinded and paralyzed over the first two years. My employer terminated me as a result. Loosing my health insurance and career was the best thing that could have happened. I discovered the pH Miracle and lost 67 pounds. I constantly maintain good urine and saliva levels after discovering restructured water. Its been 6 years since I have used ANY pharmacy drugs and many of my MS symptoms have vanished. I love restructured water and am looking for the best water system to purchase. I have been drinking Kangen Water for the past two years. I get it from my my Upper Cervical Doctor. Kangen Water is not affordable for me at this time. I want to start my own self-help business due to my disability. What is your suggestion. I noticed your slogan “Change your water, change your life”. Heres to pH, perfect Health, YF Russ
Hey Russ
Your story is quite incredible and I’d love to help out – drop me an email on ross@energiseforlife.com
Ross
how much is 500 mls of water a day in ounces? Also how much lemon juice should we put in the water/
Your video made a lot of sense to me . I would like to pass this on to my stepmother who is in bad shape health wise. Can you recommend a filter for me to use daily while at work? Or is this THE filter by using lemons?
I live in the U.S.
Thanks Alicia
Hi Alicia – adding the lemons doesn’t do the work of a filter so you kinda have to filter it too, definitely.
500ml is 16.9070114 US fluid ounces. I just googled it
Ross
l would like to know more about this Alkaline water
Keep on watchin’ Emmanuel!
How can I get proper hydration if I am on a water restriction regimen? I have a low sodium syndrome in which for unknown reasons I lose too much sodium from my body, so the Dr. has put me on fluid restriction to prevent this. I can only have 1750 ml of liquids per day. That amount reflects all liquids, not just water! The best explanation they give me for this condition is that this condition is common in people who have lung problems, which I do have. Your response is greatly appreciated. Thank you, sincerely, Eleanor Gamboa
Hi Elanor
I can’t legally make any suggestions if you’re on doctor supervision. I definitely recommend a 2nd opinion from a nutritionally aware physician. Where are you based?
Ross
Great Job Ross:
My mom 86yrs old very healthy lady, drinks 1/2 lime into 1/2 cup warm water everyday so no wonder she is so healthy
I do this one week, then she leaves I forget, she come back next yr I do it again then I forget or my acid reflux tells me do not do it.
Can I use lime, is it the same, what about the warm water. Is this ok if I am suffering for esophaguitis right now?
How much sodium bicarbonate daily?
Can you tell me if Green tea is OK to drink, I stopped coffee but need the energy boost, is Green tea OKK?g
Thanks Ross, looking forward to watch the next videos!!!!!!!
Martha
Hey Martha
The FIFTH person to mention their mother or grandmother using lemon water! Awesome!
- lime is fine
- warm water is much better on your body, but not absolutely critical
- no more than 1 teaspoon of bicarb
- green tea still has lots of caffeine, so try to transition to non-caffeine herbal tea
Cheers!
Ross
Dear Ross,
My husband has prostate cancer and is doing very well…no surgery, chemo or radiation. We believe that an alkaline lifestyle is our health stewardship before the Lord and He is honoring this stewardship. We have been alkalizing for two and a half years now and it is actually easy. The only difficulty we have is in traveling. We will be taking a trip to Australia and New Zealand this next week and I am at a loss at how to fly and not compromise our alkalinity. What types of food and snacks do you take with you when you fly? I also must be gluten free…eating anything in an airport or on the plane is almost impossible, but this is too long of a flight to go without eating something. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Hey Paula
It’s harder now you can’t take liquids on with you. I personally just try to stay superhydrated and hope for the best! THere is not much more you can do!
Here’s my general regime for long-haul flying. I go between Australia-USA and Australia-UK a lot so I’m trying to perfect it!
1) drink 1ltr of water every 2 waking hours
2) take green capsules with me and take 3 per every waking hour
3) treat the water with pH drops
4) take almonds with me to snack on
5) do breathing exercises when I remember to! Usually every 3-4 hours or when I’m trying to sleep.
It’s hard in economy, but I swear never to fly business because I know I’ll never be able to go back to economy after that!
Remember – it’s only 24 hours at most, so just do your best.
The biggest thing though is hydration and the green caps.
Ross
We have been filtering from many years and just discovered your tip on lukewarm lemon water. I’d like to learn more to take this to the next level. I also drink coffee which is a love, but know it is probably not helping much. My hope is to not have to be so “utterly strict” on food (controling 80% or more as ‘better choices”, but allowing for the times that compromise presents itself. I’m learning how to compromise better, but with water, that is something I can control easily almost 100% of the time. Anyway, would like to understand more.
Hey Doug
Your philosophy is bang on right mate, perfect.
Ross
Does boiling alkaline water have any effect on its pH?
I’ve tested ionized water with a pH of 9.5 and the boiling didn’t affect the pH. I wouldn’t personally boil pH drops in water though…
I always leave something out – I forgot to tell you that I have a water ionizer, the brand is Platinum, and it has a meter to let me know when to change the two filters, one side puts out the alkaline and the other the acidic water. I drink 9.5pH, and there are so many uses for the acidic water. I water my plants with it; and I go over my entire skin with it after my shower in the mornings sometimes with some evoo in it. This has done wonders for my foot problems that diabetics nearly always seem to have. I even gave my cat a bath in it much to his chagrin. I am 78 and healthier than anyone I know in spite of being Type II diabetic. My skin was always dry and sometimes all around my mouth and chin looked as though I’d been eating sugar cookies. It is better looking and feeling now than I ever remember it. I started adding a little Four Thieves vinegar to the acidic water, which made it even better. This vinegar purports to have antiseptic, antimicrobial, antibiotic, and antifungal properties. I walk an hour a day in my neighborhood and my weight is kept down due to the alkaline diet and Dr. Neal Barnard’s book Foods That Fight Pain. Turns out there are anti-inflammatory foods that alleviate all kinds of pain; among the best of those is cherries, especially tart cherries. I buy them frozen and organic and put a little in my protein drink every day. I also eat the other superfoods, bluberries, raspberries, blackberries, as well as cucumbers, tomatoes, avocadoes, red onions, romaine lettuce, and spinach with just a touch of Bragg’s healthy salad dressing. You should tell some of your fans who write in who have gout, arthritis, neuropathy (nerve pain), or inflammation about Dr. Barnard’s book and what to eat to ward off pain. I take the alkaline/acidic food chart to the store for a shopping list.
Hey Miriam – the lemon water isn’t the missing piece – but if you’re on alkaline, ionized water then you’re doing great – especially because you use the acid water too! Great work!
Ross
Thanx for all your hard work. In this video on water, in the very beginning you use it’s instead of its. It’s is only when you mean it is.
thanks Ellensue
I can’t get your video, probably because I am technologically illiterate. If the missing piece is lemon in your water, I already do that; I not only drink it, I put it on my hair and skin (and sometimes a little vinegar). I also eat from the alkaline food chart. One misstep: the other day I ate an ENTIRE WATERMELON between 11am and 3 pm. I won’t do that again. I know it’s 96% water but the rest is sugar! The good part is that wm is good for the skin.
I am going to increase my husbands alkaline intake as he is suffering from an acidic stomach. As expected the GP has not discussed eating habits just given him antacids to take. What is your take on antacids and do you think changing to an alkaline diet whilst taking antacids could make him too alkaline?
HI Janet – it’s highly unlikely, but start slow and build – I always recommend this….
Sorry Ross, one more thing – I use the PHion balance booster in my water, then use this water with Dr Brocs youngphorever green powder – is that ok?
Thanks
Kind regards
Wizz
Hey Wizz – I’ll answer both comments here.
Your total water intake is 3-4 litres, maybe a little more if exercising – so whether this is plain, herbal tea, with green powder…is irrelevant, just make sure it’s 3-4 litres. I personally have a little plain alkaline water in the morning from my ionizer, some lemon water etc, but then the rest of the day it is usually water with greens in, juices etc…
Doc Broc and pH Booster is a fine combo
Hi Ross
I drink 1 litre of warm water in the morning with half lemon juice and then throughout the day I have Dr Brocs Youngphorever 3 scoops per litre, which it says to take 4 – 6 times a day! Which would be another 4 litres. I manage another three, (so four litres per day of fluids in total) my question being am I ok to continue with the green powder or should I be drinking just plain water at some stage of the day?
Can’t wait for your next videos!
Kind regards
Wizz
Hi Ross,
Started doing the Alkaline diet when recommended to do it by my nutritionist to combat Candida (another side effect of an acidic body!) Much better now, and I’m trying to get everyone I know on to it. Going to get on to the water thing today! looking forward to the next 2 video’s….hoping there is something in there for us folks who rent and can’t install filter systems.
best wishes
angel
Hey Angel – sure is – I rent too!
Hey Angel
Yep the alkaline diet is AWESOME for candida!
Also – good news for you….I rent, so renters are most definitely looked after ![]()
Ross
I bought a water filter jug (that not only filters, but give a minus ORP and alkalises to about 9). I currently prepare 2 litres every day and put in an old water bottle so I can take it to work with me. You mentioned that the plastic used for water bottles is bad for you. What else should I be using to carry such a large amount of water around with me?
Stainless steel is best, check out http://www.sigg.com
Ignor the privious comment – I finally got Flash installed and now able to view video.
Very Interesting – looking forward to an Alkaline Change
Nice one Kenneth – glad you got there in the end
Hello Ross, i have been following the “Alkaline Awareness” and your tips for the past 4 months, it works for me absolutely!!
Q: Once filtered, does the water quality change if resting a few hours in a half full bottle? (plastic/glass)
Q: I buy Tasmanian water in a cask 7.6 PH, does the water quality change once boiled for a Rooibos tea?
Power to you and a big thank you.
ILAN ARNON
http://www.tasmanvillage.com.au
Hi Ilan
Nice place you’ve got there!
The pH will slowly degrade over time, but the filtration doesn’t alter.
Ross
Does lime juice act the same as lemon juice?
Hi Eleanor, pretty much – it tastes nice too!
Love this program. Drink alkaline water!
Thanks Joanne!
Excellent, explanation, finall took time to listen to it all. Looking forward to the next two videos. JO
Thanks Jo!
Do you think it is better to drink tap water which has been filtered in a simple filter jug with filter cartridges than it is to drink bottled water. Currently I drink bottled water with puriPHy drops added. Not sure if I should now just use tap water from my filter jug?
Hi Caroyln
I’d go tap water, filtered with pH drops….
Save yourself the unnecessary expense.
Ross
I’m reallt disappointed I will be unable to start these improvements as I cannot drink any fruit juices particularly citrus juice as I suffer from Interstitial Cystitis
Hi Jackie
There is still PLENTY you can do – this vid is just the beginning….look out for my next video in a few days…
Ross
Hello Ross
As a ‘Z factor’ pupil i have to say that there is some great information on this video. If i may i would like to quote Dr Young’s profound statement he made to you at a health retreat which I will be speaking at?
I have found that drinking 500ml quickly i.e. rather than sipping lends itself to more effective and beneficial hydration.
Using ionised & alkalised filtered water with some Himalayan salt is something i would also recommend. The energy and vitality gained from this type of water is amazing.
I’m looking forward to the next video installment.
Live with Passion
Martin
Hey Martin
I’m revealing secrets here but you already know as you were at Z Factor….the new Chanson we’re due to launch very soon has a Himalayan Rock Salt injection built in, so you can get what I call super-sports-water all day! Full of the 82 mineral salts in Himalayan salt (i.e. those lovely electrolytes)! The difference with this in the water is huge.
Was at Z Factor in 2010 and we’ll be there again with Ronnie and Joseph in 2012…
Maybe we’ll see you there!
Ross
I am looking forward to your next two videos.
Nice one – I’m so excited about putting them live! Just finishing them off this weekend
Hi Ross,
thanks a lot for your vid, I totally agree that water is the most important to our health. I have a portable filter that I am using at the moment as a stop gap, because I can feel it is ok but doesn’t quite cut the mustard.
I can tell from the comments that I have read that you suggesting that the Chanson Ioniser might be the best option? I would love to buy one but unfortunately you don’t offer the payment plan for customers in in Ireland ![]()
I also would like to know what your thought is on , Mother Nature pure spring water , we have one nearby, surely that is the best water there is, if stored in glass containers?
Thanks for your help,
Vicky
Hey Vicky
Sounds a good stop gap…but I’ll drop you an email to see if I can help out…
Ross
HI Ross,
Enjoyed your latest video. Thank you. We’ve been trying SO hard to find the right water! Can you help us with our specific issue??? PLEASE! We cannot afford an ionizer, so we’ve been drinking ‘Fiji’ artesian bottled water. They say, specifically, that they do NOT use the contaminating elements in their bottles, so, supposedly, nothing bad leaches into the water, like it does in normal bottled water. I’ve never been sure I could believe that, and called them to find out if they ever put their water in glass, and, of course, because of cost, they do not. Very disappointing, but I don’t know what else to do. Our tap water here at home is WELL water, which may sound good, BUT it’s so hard we have to soften it or it destroys our fixtures, so it’s softened AND uses Reverse Osmosis. After that was installed, I learned that RO water is HORRIBLE for you because it’s ‘empty water’ and (nature abhorring a vacuum) it leaches all the minerals out of your body. We now use the RO for cooking, the sofened water for cleaning, and only drink Fiji (often with lemon).
I don’t know what else to do!! Can you help?? Thanks.
Hey Barb! Wow – what a journey!
Here is what I would do…ditch the Fiji. It claims to be pH 7.8 but in my tests (which you’ll see in video 2 in a couple of days) it comes out acidic at about 6.3. The RO is definitely mildly acidic, and the super-hard water from the well will have a quite low pH….SO….
I would ideally recommend running through the RO, then get a remineralising cannister fitted to the RO (they’re pretty cheap) and then ideally through an ionizer. You could, alternatively, ditch the RO and go straight into the ionizer OR b) add pH drops to the RO water…
I go through this in quite a bit of detail in video 3 next week…
Ross
I use a small distillation unit and distill all my drinking water. I also use it to make redbush tea. Is this ok and enough or do I need to do more?
thanks for all the info,
Una
Hi Una – distilling is great to filter it but it leaves it with a mildly acidic pH – so I always recommend using pH drops with distilled water…
Hi Ross,
Is “luke warm” essential for the morning 500ml of lemon juice enhanced water?
I am currently filtering my tap water with Fontaine EVA 1200 BEP
A fountain with an EXTREME FILTRATION – IRL/Magnétisation –
This filtrating fountain re-mineralises tap water, and allows to reach pH between 7.3 / 8.3.
The BEP model is equipped with magnets that increases the level of hexa-clusters in the water (with all the known benefits).
For 225 EUR and afterwards a cost of max 13,16 EUR per month, you can get this purified and balanced water for 9 months before you need to change the ultimate filtration cartridge (whatever the quantities produced during these 9 months. – Not bad he?
The company UTILéBIO that commercialises this fountain is apparently not yet represented in the UK, but maybe you can have access to this product (made in Korea) via another distributor?
Looking forward to reading your comments!
Patricia
Hi Patricia – lukewarm is very beneficial, but not 100% critical.
The Fontaine sounds like a good filter, and a reasonably cheap option, but its not something that we’d be interested in distributing through Energise as the Chanson gets the pH up to 12, has the filtration plus gives the ORP benefit…
Ross
Thank you for your information…
how effective is coconut water for hydration?
Coconut water is GREAT for hydration as it contains many alkaline mineral salts. Beware of the plethora of packaged brands appearing, many contain flavourings and sweeteners. If you can, get it fresh from a young green coconut. It tastes amazing natural.
Ross, I bought a ionizer from Enagic. I can truly tell you how this alkaline water has helped me. My husband actually testified to a friend of ours how this water has totallly turned our little Westie completely around. You see this dog became diabetic due to vet induced diabetes with steroids. You Rock !!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Linda! Congrats on getting an ionizer already – I’m sure it’s having you feeling great! (…and the Westie! Our Cavoodle loves it too!)
I live in Denmark.
Your comments about water quality seem to be about the USA or the UK.
What do you know about the quality of Denmark’s water?
Thank you.
Hi Naomi
I’m not 100% familiar with the water quality level in Denmark but i’d be pretty sure the pH will be neutral at best and it will almost certainly have a + ORP.
Cheers
Ross
hey Ross
my name is David herrington i’am a 26 year old student at Westminster university studying music and trying to persue a carrier as a singer.Growing up i would sometimes smoke with my friends and now have chest pains and can feel that my lungs and my voice aren’t what they used to be.I’ve just started drinking ionised water, and try to eat alkaline throughout the day.Is there anything u can recomend to speed up the healing process of my body. And are there any events with Dr Young or Tony robbins happerning anytime soon in the UK.
Hey David
Sounds like you’re on the right track, just keep on keepin on. You could do an alkaline cleanse, but this won’t dramatically speed the repair of your lungs, you sort of have to sit it out with that one.
Dr Young is coming to London in Sept. Watch this space.
Tony is in Rimini, Italy in September too…again – watch this space
Ross
What is the most affordable thing to buy to be able to filter, antioxidize and alkalise my tap water? I have checked on internet for those expensive filters etc that promise to do all this – but quite frankly – I do not have 3000 or more pounds to afford it. I make only 70 pounds per week salary currently – and this is just uknow..i would have money only like in a years time if i would not have to eat, pay for living and buy all other things i need to survive..
Any ideas how to make my water good then
?
Thank you Ross,
Marion
Hey Marion
I go over each and every method in the third and final video which you’ll get…I think next wednesday…I’m just polishing up the video. It’s me in my kitchen shootin’ from the hip! I even show you under my kitchen sink which I think is quite brave!
Ross
Just want to say ”your a dude Ross” – THANK YOU. Loved the ”good karma” comment. Have enquired alot re Alk diet online – LOTS OF SELLING. Boring and unhelpful.
Thanks for genuine help , consern and enthusiasm re subject.
Gnna buy your cook book – good karma!
Cheers, Del . MID WALES.
Hey Del in Mid Wales!
Iechyd da! Hope you love the cookbook as much as I loved making it! It was a fair bit easier than making these videos! Glad you appreciate the effort! I just had someone email me calling me a ‘f***ing ******’ because he heard me start the joke but didn’t stay on long enough (a nanosecond) to realise it was a joke!
He must have been pretty highly strung – that is one short fuse (very acid-forming
Ross
Hi, i found your video interesting, what type of water do you recommend, or what filtration devise is best,
thanks
Dave Cable (UK)
Hi Dave – this is all answered very extensively in the next 2 videos. But realistically anything that can score 2 out of 3 on the measures of ORP, pH and filtration…
Hi Ross
I’m just starting out with the alkaline diet and trying to learn as much as I can about it. It is all rather confusing but having found your site and heard about the water I’m off to buy a filter jug and looking forward to your next video!
Hi Jude
That’s awesome – keep an eye out for vids 2 & 3!
Ross
Hi Ross,
Why must one drink 500 ml alkaline water made with filtered water plus lemon juice only once per day in the morning? I squeeze half a lemon added to a litre of filtered water (Brita water filter) in the morning and drink this throughout the day.
If one drinks alkaline water, what happens when the water reaches one’s stomach with all its acid? Do the two neutralize each other?
Cheers,
Edgar
Hi Edgar
My rough guide is to not overload on it thinking it is the best source of alkaline water. It’s a good start and drinking 1l throughout the day is absolutely fine.
The stomach produces hydrochloric acid on demand to digest foods, there are no issues caused by consuming alkaline foods….
Ross
p.s. this interesting article by Dr Young helps explain further: http://articlesofhealth.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
I am 84 years old, I am using a Chanson Ioniser for my water supply.. Do you recomend anything extra. The attached filter consists of three units, feeding into the ioniser..These are in order,,KDFIGAC ..Activated Aluminium..and Activated Carbon Block Filters….Is there anything else I should use…. Regards Ken…
Hey Ken – nope you’re 110% spot on mate, everything perfect!
Wow! I have been drinking 2 mugs of warm filtered lemon water every morning for the last few months – just because I have given up tea / coffee / milk and I remembered my grandmother (who lived to 97) did this every day. I have lost weight, feel great and much more energised and positive about life – just by changing my water! My questions is: how young should you start this… is it recommended for kids? Thanks Ross
Hi Magda – you’re the 2nd person to comment that their grandparents did this! That’s awesome! 97 is amazing!
Glad you’re getting the benefits of it, it sounds like its going great for you. This is the beauty of the alkaline approach – for a lot of people its the 1 simple missing ingredient and as soon as you start to alkalise…..things happen!
Watch out for the other vids!
Ross
so very true ross keep up the good work
Thanks so much Rajesh
I am soooo happy to see you discover this! When my Mom’s cancer came back. We started researching how to build her immune system, and discovered the Acid/Alkaline balance. We started changing our diet to Alkaline. We discovered you! (love the recipe book) Thank You!
But then through a set of circumstances found ionized water! IT IS THE KEY!!!!
Hey Annette!
Wooo a fan of my Recipe Book! Glad you like it!
Keep watching – video’s 2 and 3 will knock yer socks off!
Ross
I use a Waterwise machine I bought from you. Does this produce the sort of filtered water you are talking about?
Hi Ali
It works well with the pH drops – and I cover this in a lot of depth in video 3.
Keep your eyes out for my email!
Ross
Hi Ross
Thanks so much. I’ve been on the ionised water for a couple of months now and I am actually losing weight without having to diet, which is my main health goal.
Sue
Hi Sue – thats awesome. So cool to hear! Keep it up!
Ross
Great video Ross. This needs to be in front of as many eyeballs as possible. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Jody! Appreciate it brother! See you when I get back from NZ.
Love it Ross – I’m right there with you – Water is THE most important thing! Great marketing!
Hey Bert – thanks so much! Look out for video 2!
Hi Ross,
Great video!! Since a while now I’ve been thinking about buying myself a water ionizer. Is that the ultimate and best way to alkalize my water?? They are quite expensive, but I think I want to invest in one, afterall it is for my health.
Liisa
Hi Liisa
I have tried and tested pretty much every ionizer out there and could not be happier with the Chanson.
Ross
Ross,Thank you soooo much. Can’t wait for more info.
Nice one Andrew!
Hello! Good Day to you..Thank you for sharing this informative video. Just a few questions to ask. I have an acid reflux, is adding lemon juice to a 500 ml for a daily alkaline water regimen will not have an adverse effect to my stomach? My told doctor me that citrus fruits with acidic content is a no-no to acid reflux. Also, in what form of sodium bicarbonate do i have to use? in tablet or powder form? how much is the dose? do i have to add it with lemon or separate solutions? or just one lemon and without sodium bicarbonate is enough. i read an article that sodium bicarbonate is good for colon cleansing.
Hey Harold
You can try mild lemon water but you might be better off with the sodium bicarb until your reflux clears up. Powdered is best, and start with 1/2 teaspoon.
I have some great news for acid reflux in video 3 so be sure to watch out for it!
Ross
Hey Ross, bottled water comes in many different types, from distilled, purified, drinking to spring. What are the main differences and is there a good water that can be bought?
Love the info,
Wayne
Hi Wayne
They do all come in different forms – many these days are filtered tap water (basically). The main thing is that the plastics in the bottle are not great, and no matter what the pH on the side of the bottle, this will be slightly negative at least by the time you drink it (they are usually pH 6.4-7). pH of water degrades over about 2 weeks and I assure you it has been longer than 2 weeks since the bottled water you drink was ‘manufactured!’
Ross
Hey Ross, just wanted to mention that you actually look healthier in this video than in older ones I’ve seen you in so your efforts must be working!
I actually have an undersink filter and a fridge filter and also an urn looking water dispenser that has a round clay looking disc inside which acts a filter (ordered from a place in South Australia that specialize in filtered water) apparently. Do you know if these actually work? Looking forward to the info in the next videos, will they include how often to change filters for optimum water quality. Also, any tips on how to get 3 litres of water in, I take a large bottle with me everywhere but struggle sometimes to drink even1.5 litres a day.
Regards
Sophie
Hi Sophie!
I have to give credit to my growing video/lighting/studio skills too! I never expected that I would learn so much about shooting videos when I started online in 2002!
However, as professional as it looks (to me anyway!) you’d crack up if you saw behind the scenes
I’ve never come across these filters you mention – can you remember the name of the company? I’d love to check them out!
Glad you liked the vid – I’m sure you’re going to love the next 2!
Ross
My mother died at 90 yrs old and I remember her drinking a warm glass of water with lemon in it.
I am almost 77 yrs old and I started doing this about a yr ago because of my stomach problems,
so you are on the right track. And we also have a large filter system for our water and we put in
fresh spring water. Keep up all the good work that you are doing.
Thanks Ethel – you keep up the good work too!
HI Ross
I like the things that you share
How or where is your USA distribution as I do not want to pay the extra shipping costs and exchange rate, etc
Blessings,
Kris
Hi Kris
Have emailed you details.
Ross
Hi Ross, Great video and well simplified.
I would like to know how much water to have everyday?
I have a portable water jug and drink on average 2 litres a day. Is this enough?
Do I also need to add PH drops with every glass I have or is the jug enough of a PH?
You said that plastic bottles are bad for you, as I travel can I store my water from my jug in plastic bottles or should I get a metal bottle?
Thank you so much.
Hey Jeremy
I’d get one of the metal/stainless steel bottles. The SIGG brand is great.
Each day you should aim to drink between 2-4 litres – but in video 2 I give you a more accurate way to easily work this out. If you engage in exercise drink an extra 500-750mls.
If you’re using the Energise jug this will get your UK tap water to about pH 8 to pH 8.5 – so if you want pH 9.5 then the drops are recommended too.
Ross
hi. ross – I have been wanting to have you answer me about a perculiarity in my alkaline intake for quite a while now but have wanted to check the validity of it. one day I decided to have a treat and went to a local coffee shop and had a small bowl of fried potatoe chips (about 300 grams – cooked in low cholesterol vegetable oil) I checked my ph balance after to see how much damage had been done and low and behold my ph was up from 7.1(pre chips) to 7.4 – I didn’t think too much about it at the time then decided to do it again a week later – same thing happened – I have tested it out at least a dozen times and only once did my ph remain the same – every other time it increased. I realise the fat intake etc is not a good food choice but for a now and then treat I shall continue to indulge. I would not have thought fried potatoe chips would have been an alkaline booster – can you give me your thoughts on it. I should mention that I can tolerate one cup of espresso black coffee a day without it affecting my ph – so maybe it is just my body tolerance or something?
Hey Jenny
The reason for this is brilliantly explained by Dr Young here: http://articlesofhealth.blogspot.com/2011/06/all-sweet-fruit-is-acidic.html
But simply put, when you consume something sugary/acid forming your mouth immediately begins to produce sodium bicarbonate from your saliva glands to help neutralise the acidity. So if you eat something acid-forming then test your pH within 30 secs to 30 mins (or more) of this you will get an alkaline pH reading from your saliva.
Hope this helps.
Ross
Hi! Great video. Im a big customer of Energise from Sweden. If this is true about water it makes a big difference so im really thrilled. My questions – how do one get information on health by Joseph Mcclendon? How does an optimal sleep schedule look when you are top alkalized, at upw 2007 i think Jospeph said he slep from 00.00 to 6.00 and was totally energized – do you have any more info on that?
Best regards Erik
Hey Erik – mailed your question to Joseph from your email a while back – so I will follow up on that…
I actually recorded an indepth interview with Joseph when we were both in Sydney earlier in the year, so I’ll get that live soon I promise!
Hello there
Could you recommend a good filter for the water (one that is cheap and cheerful but works!)
Thanks
Mandy
Hey Mandy – I’ll cover all of this in heaps of depth in video 3. But check out our site for the Energise Alkaline Filter to start your research…
Hi Ross,
Great video mate, totally agree with your comments, I have been drinking RO water ( 5 stage filter) then adding pH drops & have managed to loose 4.5 stone in 4 months with your diet plan & am now 100% raw food vegans.
Whats interesting is that my wife who has been following the diet plan with me has only noticed the rapid weight loss after adding pH drops to her RO water, we are both convinced that the pH drops are the secret.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks
Hey Charlie
How cool is that?! 4.5 stone! For those in other countries thats 28.57kg!
Massive effort well done!
Ross
Hi Ross,
What a great video. Thanks for the useful tips. I am looking forward to further information and what are the best filters to buy. Thanks again.
No worries Roberta – glad I could help. You’re going to love video 3!
Hi Ross
A great video. I have a hiatus hernia and get acid reflux. I was advised to avoid citrus fruit, so does that mean lemon water is off the menu for me?
Anthony
Hi Anthony
Possibly, but worth speaking to a nutritionist about. In fact why not give it a try with a really mild lemon water and see how you go? It may well work out for you because, like I mention, the lemon actually has an alkalising effect once consumed…
Ross
DEAR SIR , I AM USING AQUA OPTIMA WATER FILTERS ALSO I USE LEMON WATER AS ADVISED BY YOU, IS THIS ENOUGH? HOPING TO HEAR FROM YOU, THANKS, LEN
Hi Len
I’m not 100% familiar with the Aqua Optmia, but as mentioned, I wouldn’t rely on the lemon water as my ONLY source of alkaline water…
Ross
Hi Ross I have been trying the alkaline diet for over a year and initially it really helped me to lose weight. However, I do find it difficult to stick to and missed certain foods. I bought a chanson ioniser and use it as much as possible. What I am unclear about is whether by boiling this water I am negating the positive properties? I much prefer hot drinks to cold water. In addition I love dragonfly tea which is naturally caffeine free, but I do not know whether it is acidic or alkaline?
Finally, is it normal to have hot flushes on the diet? I am sure I read it somewhere but could you clarify? Thanks Wendy
Hey Wendy
The ionized water is absolutely fine boiled, it doesn’t lose ORP or pH in any of my tests. The dragonfly tea is fine too, except for their white blend which is reasonably high in caffeine….
Cheers
Ross
Hi Ross The Alkaline food is great love it but how do i put on a few pounds find you loose weight in stead of gaining which i need to do loved your video thanks.
Hi Joan
This might help: http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/2010/08/23/alkaline-diet-muscle-building/
Ross
Hi Ross, i`d just like to say thanks for these very informative videos, and for all the other accurate information that you make available in order for people to change their lives for the better.
I look forward to learning more.
George
Cheers George!
Hiya! Ross,
Fntastic information, 100% behind you in everything you say.
question?
I have come across frequency 432Hz, using a tuning fork to put this frequency into the water makes a hugh difference….any comment
you can check it out by googl 432 Hz frequency pitch
Cheers
Hey Kevin – I’ll definitely check that out – it wasn’t something I’d looked into before…
I would like more info on your water product
Hi Joni – I’ll be chatting more about it in the next and final vid – but email me on ross@energiseforlife.com if you have any specific q’s…
We use a brita water filter jug with maxtra cartridges, is this sufficient for filtering out all the nasties in London tap water? We can’t really afford much else right now and live in rented accommodation so fitting a permanant filter to the tap is not a viable option. Do you have any other suggestions?
Hey Anita
It’s doing an OK job for sure. I’m in rented too but the Chanson is SO easy to install and uninstall and doesn’t require any plumbing or anything – I’ll be talking more about it in a few days…!
Ross
Hi Ross,
Thanks for such enthusiasm re water.I changed from tap water, (which comes from my own well) to bottled water, since I started on alk diet. I have found that the more I tend to drink the more I seem to need. I seem to get more thirsty ! It seems that a filter is the way to go, as I cannot afford ioniser. What is the difference between britas filter and energise filiter ? I have been diagnosed with osteopenia, and osteoarthritis in my fingers and from what I understand it is related to uric acid in diet. Any suggestions for me. Many thanks for your energy.
Warmest
Angela
Hey Angela
The main difference is the Energise Filter will give you pH 8-8.5 water and the Brita gives you pH 6 – pH 6.5…!
I’d guess that ours are cheaper to maintain too…
Can you use limes in luke warm water in the morning instead of lemons. I have been on the ph diet going into my 3rd week, am excited about this lemon water first thing in the morning. So far I have lost 11 lbs. Thankyou Phyl
Hey Phyl – thats a great result! Yep, limes are fine in place of lemons!
Hi Ross
Many thanks for this really important information.I am excited about this information, I have lymphoedema in my right leg so am always very conscious about doing everthing I to improve my health. I am very much looking forward to your next video’s.
best wishes Szaphiel
Hi Szaphiel
Glad you like it – and I am sure you’re going to LOVE the other videos!
Ross
Hey Ross – great job!!
How about those crystallized lemon packets (True Lemon), are they the same as a fresh lemon?
Thanks and keep up the awesome work!
Michael Lee
Hi Michael – I’m not a fan at all. Fresh is always best
Hi there!
I was just wondering,- I ve got a Chanson water ionizer, which I love incidentally, but does it actually filter the water too???
I was given, as part of your promotion at the time, a free filter system , which I’ve yet to install…so I presume it’s needed? The water tastes great without it though?!??
Thank you for all your enthusiastic work!!!
Best wishes
Beata
Hey Beata
The internal filter in the Chanson is great. The prefilter you have there (the C3) is absolutely industry leading and phenomenal! You’ll notice the difference for sure…
All this build-up of talk and NOT talking about molecular structure of water is like talking about a great soccer match and not seeing the ball. Filtered water is dead. Adding to it with your lemons is NOT going to do it. Hexagonal water is water from the glaciers or drinking it out of a spout in a rock.
The ultimate solution is hexagonal water. Ross, talk about that, and you will have touched the base.
Confusing in your message is how you say to get the results. 1) Filtered watered is a step but NOT to be separated from the How to get the ionized, HEXAGONAL structured Alkaline water, that will allow the water to actually ENTER the cells and keep you hydrated. The HOW is the machines you will need that make the water hexagonal and thus totally absorbing. Just like glacier or mountain water. Tumbling down at high speed, pure and unaltered. To FILTER will NOT make it hexagonal. Filtering can ionize, make a good pH, but the foundation on which this all rests is restore the water to its original structure. Fresh from an alkalizing, ionizing, negative ORP producing machine is the only way. Or drink pure water coming out a spout in a rock. Filtering will make your water dead! Add lemon juice? With what water are these lemons grown? Where’s the action in the squeeze of the lemons to get the structured water? Hexagonal water is the ultimate solution.Filtered water will NOT hydrate you. Talk about molecular structure and your message is complete.
Hi Cappi
As with everything with the alkaline diet -its all about taking it step-by-step and not overwhelming people. We’ll get there
Hey Ross loved the vid and am looking forward to the next two. Quick question. Can I check the PH of my water and of my body and if so how? All I am using is tap water with the PH drops from doc Young at the moment! Thanks
ramon
Hi Ramon
To test the water you need a digital pH Meter. I love the Oakton brand which you can get on Amazon.
For pH testing of your body – http://www.energiseforlife.com/item–Energise-pH-Test-Strips-80-Dual-Pad-Strips–96.html
Love your energy, your passion and care!
For me it would be so much easier to have it in writing – and short.
My attention ‘drowns’ in all the words and repetitions.
I get that the quality of water is important – so what exactly do I need to do?
Filtration: Which filter should I get?
Oxidaton: How do I make my water antioxidant?
Ph: Should I use pH drops? Which ones?
Thank you! Wish you ALL the best!
Mette
Hi Mette
Firstly, I think I will transcribe and send this out to you. Good idea.
Secondly – I’ll answer all of these in the next 2 vids!
Ross
I am using Water Vortexer and Water Jug with motor , these are devices made according to work of Victor Schauberger so called “water wizard” … Do you know anything about them and did anyone who reads this use these ?
Thanks
Vladimir
Hey Vladimir
Its not one I’ve personally used but I’ve heard OK things about them…
If anyone else has info I’d love to hear more
Ross
Is ozonated water harmful? I have an ozonator which bubbles ozone into my filtered water, supposedly beneficial to our health (microbe-destroying, alkalizing). But I’ve heard conflicting opinions that it could be creating free radicals. Do you have knowledge on this subject?
Thank you.
Hi Terry – to be honest, I’m not 110% convinced. There would need to be a lot more research done into this before I’d personally use it or recommend it. It could be great, but I’m not sure yet!
I can get pure water from an aquifer below the ground. It has absolutely no chemicals in it. It is the water used to make beer here in Minnesota. How can I know if this water is good for me?
Also, I should be putting it in glass bottles but they are too heavy for me to haul. Are there any plastic bottles out there that are not harmful?
Hi Barbara
You’d need to have the water tested for pH and ORP, but not having chemicals/being purified is a fantastic start.
For a water bottle, the stainless steel are the best IMO – super light and plastic free
Ross
just finished watching the video, wonderful!!! how much lemon do I put into the 500ml of water and can it be cold not warm. The other question is I like to drink lemon water during the day is there a limit on the amount of lemon water that can be drunk during 24hrs. Thanks Joanne.
Hi Joanne
There isn’t really a ‘limit’ so to speak, I’d just not go too nuts on it. Maybe mix it up at least 50:50 – but this is not an adequate/powerfully alkaline enough source to be honest.
I tend to squeeze about 1/4 of a lemon in a 500ml glass.
It’s best to have it warm, as in lukewarm, as this is easiest for the body to digest, rather than cold or HOT as the body has to use lots of energy to get it to a nice digestible temperature
Ross
Hello,
What do you think of Prill Beads and their contribution to healthy water ?
Hey Jacinta
The prill beads do an OK job, but don’t really get the pH. IT’s better than nothing, but the ‘advertised’ pH is only as high as 7.4. There are better low-priced options than this IMO.
If I drink smoothies with fresh fruit is this alkaline or do i still need to add lemon?
adn if i use a brita filter is this good or what do you recommend?
i live in scotland uk
Hi Philippa
I wouldn’t recommend making juices or smoothies with more than 1/2 piece of fruit in it per serve if you’re looking to alkalise.
The high sugar content of fruit is not great with the whole fruit inc fibre and when you’re eating ONE serve, but in a smoothie or juice you’re tending to get 3-4 serves per glass.
For more info: http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/2008/10/15/dont-eat-fruit/
Are you going to make this into a non-video – a shareable PDF? Video is fab and very engaging, but a PDF would be nice to refresh on basic principles. Thx Ross
Hey Katherine
Great idea – I hadn’t thought of that, but definitely will!
Ross
how can i make alkaline water?
Keep watchin!
I have been drinking alkaline water @ ph 10 for about 3 months now, along w/akaline diet. My weight goes down 2-4 lbs. & back up again. I also do 100 jumps on the rebounder & 100 counts on the sprintmaster gazalle 2-3 days per week. Yoga stretchs when I can. I also suffer with osteoarthritis. I am 59 yr. old female 5’4″ & weight 178.
In 2005 I was 280lbs. from taking alot of pain meds & shots for my arthritis, but I totally get myself off that mess & I am med free!
Can you suggest anything else for me to be doing. I would like to see at least a 10-15 lb. weight drop.
Thanks alot,
Linda
Hi Ross
I am a 62 year oldmale and have just been diagnoised with Diabetes. Although I have lost 1.5 hilos in the last 3 weeks I would appreciate any suggestions to improve achieving my weight loss goal of 6 more kilos at least. I am a fish eating vegetarian and eat pleanty of vegetables and salads . My wife and I are visiting australia in october for a month , is there outlets wheere we can obtain energise products ?
Kind regards Bob
Hi Ross,
wonderfully delivered just can’t wait to know what filter to buy. I drink a lot of volvic bottle water but my sons drink tap water and we don’t have a filter on it. I am going to send this e-mail form you to my sons. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards,
Mary.
Hey Ross,
Great info! I’m in Canada (Vancouver, specifically). We’re supposed to have “world class tap water” here – I know it is spring derived, but who knows what they do to it before it arrives in our taps. What do you know about Canadian water overall?
Thanks,
Corinne
Hi Ross,
thank you so much for your video.
I am researching water and diet for quite a while and have read so many conflicting opinions too.
What is your opinion about spring water in glass bottles? Why is spring water less clean than tub water? Or does it depend on the spring? Would water in glass bottles from a well researched spring be better than filtered tub water? And finally, did you read scientific articles suggesting the information you give in your video from various sources?
Ina
i have a water distiller and use 100% reconstituted lemon juice 16 ounces each day and brush my teeth with baking soda. am i on the right track?
What filter is available which costs the less and gives the result you talked about? I am interested if a pitcher and filter will do. Thanks Craig Reynolds
Hi Ross,
I really enjoyed your video about water and it made a lot of sense. I am struggling to increase my Ph despite trying my best. I start my day with a 200 ml glass of water to which I have squeezed a full lemon but I am wondering is this too strong a concentration ? Can I squeeze lemon juice in to water and take it with me to drink during the day, does it maintain it’s properties ? Also I would like to add that it is important to wait for 20 to 30 mins before eating so that your food can be digested.
I’m looking forward to your next two videos. Thannks for all your good advice and help.
If i just use the juice of half a lemon to on litre of water without the ph drops is this good enough.
Thank you, great information and I love your enthusiasm. I began the alkaline diet by chance. I had very real health issues and had little encouragement. I realised I needed to detox and used nettle and dandelion tea with lemon slices regularly throughout the day with real benefit and wondered why that was. The reason was the alkaline effect on my body. Amazon delivered Dr Young’s book The pH Miracle within a few days of ordering. “Water for Health” delivered a jug filtration set within 48 hours. That was the 19th April 2011; the effects have been so obvious to family and friends. Gone is the psoriasis symptoms on my scalp and face. The red blotchy weals and itch of my skin are gone. I used to sleep with a pillow between my knees because of rheumatic or arthritic type pain. I am walking almost normally. My mobility is much better, my husband is relieved, he thought we would have to move to ground floor accomodation. I have been ruthless with my diet, and am continuing to eat alkaline foods especially greens, cucumber and cabbage and coconut milk. Thia curries are a regular feature. For the moment I am vegetarian, introducing small portions of chicken and oily fish to the diet. In these 3 months the turn around in my health is wonderful after the difficulties I have faced since the sudden acute failure of my liver October 2008. The doctors could not explain the cause and provided large doses of oral prednisolone followed by a prescription of a cytotoxic drug in an attempt to suppress my immune system. It was my research into detox that gave me some hope!
Thank you for all your information and enthusiasm. I always look forward to your e-mail…..Maggie
Hello Thanks for the latest video it makes so much sense!!! I live on bottled water in the UK cos tap water tastes vile. I am currently living in Barbados and squeezing Lime into water
in the morning. is this ok or does it have to be Lemon Juice?
The water here is hard and limey how do u recommend I filter it as I guess this water is
acid. Please advise. Many thanks Jude
Hi Ross
I have been put off drinking a lot of water as bloats my stomach & makes me feel sick.
My job is driving, I take tap water from home in plastic bottles & sip all day instead of drinking juice or fizzy drinks.
i’m very interested in what your saying, I believe in the hydration being inportant, I feel I don’t get there because of the bloating.
Look forward to the following video’s
Be Well
Laura
Hi Laura
This is something that is cool about ionized water – because of the microclustering it doesn’t bloat at all…
I’ll explain all in the next couple of vids…
Ross
Hi Ross,
I enjoyed your first vid on water. I too have been researching into water and have come across a device called kangen water machine.
I was wondering if you had ever come across this on your research, and also if not what do you make of this device as it looks to herald many of the qualities you discuss….. :0)
I see you have similar on your site, i was wondering if you had explored this brand.
love your work.
Jon
Hey Jon
I’ve tried and tested the Kangen along with pretty much every brand out there and I definitely do not regret only supporting/recommending Chanson. The Chanson machines come out on top in every single measure – especially the high ORP, the super-strong alkaline and strong acid water. The Chanson is also half the price, half the size and much better looking
Keep researching – make sure you’re 100% happy with your choice!
Ross
I am very excited about the tips you’ve given in your video about the importance of drinking alkaline water. Could you please advice me, I have inflammed, stiff, painful knee joint and I wonder if drinking alkaline water will help clear it?
Hey Monique
Glad you liked the video – there is much more coming! This is just the beginning really!
According to Dr Young’s theory, when we are living a lifestyle that creates more acids than our body can buffer, the acids will be stored in our ‘weakest’ or ‘safest’ areas of the body, where we get inflamed and painful. I can’t promise, diagnose or give guarantees over anything, but I have got family evidence of painful joints (esp the knees) getting MUCH better when a more alkaline lifestyle is adopted – especially with the water.
I also recommend you try a good omega 3 supplement.
Ross
Hi Ross
Thank you for another informative video -although this one scared me big time !!!
I drink bottled water which i pour through an alkalising water jug before drinking
I thought that this would help my water be more alkaline but i wonder if i’m wasting my time
I’m also really concerned about the plastic bottle being carcinogenic.
so my question to you is: Is the tap water through the jug better than the bottled water through the jug ; should i quit the bottled water altogether???
I use the jug as financially that is the best i can afford right now, i know its not the best but maybe one day i’ll be able to afford one of the filter machines
)
many thanks
Helen Allan
Hey Helen
If you’re in the UK then I’d ditch the bottled and just put tap water through the alkaline filter jug. This will save you a bunch of money and will probably be better for you!
Ross
Ross
Thanks for this. Great stuff and I love your passionate approach, but could you get the message across in less time?!
I used a water distiller (bought from EFL) at home and ph drops at work, and drink at least 4 litres a day.
Do I still need to add lemon to all drinks? If so, how many ml per litre?
Do I still need to add bicarbonate of soda.? If so, how much?
Thanks again
Andrew
PS- How do I control (eg reverse/fast forward) the video?
Hi Andrew
If you’re using a distiller and pH drops you’re all set mate – no need for the lemons except for taste or the bicarb.
I’m glad you liked the video and I kept it as on-topic as I could.
Thanks
Ross
Great videos Ross. Great content, well-presented and simplifies the alkaline water mystery. Thank you and looking forward to watching the next one ![]()
Laura
Hey Laura!
Thanks so much for your kind words – you know how much hard work went in here!
Keep in touch – speak to you soon
Ross
Are Limes just as effective in alkalinizing water?
Hey Eileen
They’re not quite as alkalising as the lemons but make a nice change and, in my opinion, taste nicer – more like holidays!
Ross
Hi,
I started the Alkaline diet course around christmas, but have just been diagnosed with Gout (very painful). My Doctor says he thinks it Asparagus that I have started eating since being on the Alkaline diet. I never ate asparagus previously. Since stopping eating it, the gout as cleared up. How can eating Alkaline food cause Uric Acid to build up in the blood? and what should I do now?
Hi David
There could a million different cause and effect things going on here, but if you’ve found an answer/ solution that’s very cool and you should stick with it.
I’ll put this to Gareth for our next Q&A if you like?
Ross
hi,this may be a silly question but can you put the 1/2 teaspoon of sodium bicarb in the lemon water? i was thinking that some people have a problem with there teeth drinking lemon water so i thought maybe the bicarb would cut the amount of acid in the lemon before you drink it! i dont know the science behind the lemon acid into alkaline thing so it may not work chemically!
maybe it defeats the object of the exercise! or not?
Hi Anthony
I wouldn’t recommend it – and I should have made that clearer in the video. If you’re concerned about your enamel, this is certainly nowhere near as bad as if you drank coffee, fruit juice or sugary drinks like colas. Afterwards you can swish normal water in your mouth -but I wouldn’t recommend doing this with the water with bicarb. Just save that for later…
Ross
Hi Ross
can you print the info that you gave out at the end of this video about the simple steps we can take right now. I was at the other end of the room and didn’t get the chance to write down what you said and although I eat a 95% raw vegan alkalising diet I know my water can be improved, so my memory isn’t what it could be!!
Hi Ann!
I just got your email – I’m from Northampton – just up the road from you in Bedford – but live in Melbourne now, which couldn’t really be further away! Drop my your skype ID in an email and we can connect.
In response to your question here the guide appears on the page after about a couple of minutes….
Ross
What about lemon eroding enamel of your teeth…….Is this true?
Hi Tracy
It’s not really an issue, and certainly nowhere near as bad as drinking fruit juice, coffee or cola. If you’re really concerned, just drink a little normal water after to wash your mouth out.
Cheers!
Ross
Well done! This is really interesting. Have you read Emoto or Batmanghelidj on water- both are
very useful to know about. Very important information about water- this should really change things for people…
Hi Marina – I have read Dr Batman! He’s very very interesting indeed – I recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Ross
Thanks for this video. My wife and I are trying to live a more alkalinized diet and we love you and all that you do. This is super!
Thanks Ahmed! Really appreciate this – be sure to let me know if you have any questions!
Ross
If you are supposed to focus on quality quality quality is it not wise to make sure you drink enough no matter what the quality?
EricS
Hi Eric
I definitely don’t want there to be any confusion here. Water (as long as it is clean and safe) is of course better than NO water – that goes without saying – but when you’re looking for optimal health and to get to your goals you really want to think about everything you’re putting into your body – especially the water as you consume SO MUCH of it.
Ross
Ross this is great. I’ve had to buy loads of new jeans already because I’ve lost 7kg and my psoriasis is totally clearing up!
Peter that’s amazing to hear, the weight loss is cool but I think the psoriasis clearing is even cooler
Hi how important is it to use aglass bottle instead of a plastic one? Are any plastic bottles ok?
Hi Pruce
Some plastic bottles are OK. In your Definitive Guide I go through this in much more detail. Glass, or stainless steel is best – after that go for a food grade, BPA free bottle. Camping shops often sell them!
Ross
Hi Ross
Great Vid! Thanks a million!
Mike
Hey Ross
I just want to let you know I think your videos are great. I am an online content producer myself and I know how much time and effort it takes. A lot of people don’t realise that.
I also want to commend you on putting yourself out there.
I have a few questions though: 1) what do you think of the normal Brita filters? DO these get the chlorine out of the water? 2) how much water do you recommend each day?
I read Dr Young’s book where he says 4 liters but I really can’t stop peeing when I have this much. I know too much information there ,btu hey.
Thanks again
Sharon
Hi Sharon
This is so nice of you to post, I really appreciate it – it IS very scary putting yourself out there like this and I am so glad that most people seem to be really liking it!
Here’s your answers:
1) Brita are ‘OK’ filters but they actually make tap water MORE acidic
2) In vid two I go through this a lot more but a rough rule for most people is at least 2 litres and not much more than 4…
Thanks
Ross
Very informative. I am going to look into water filters as soon as I get back from my holiday. The water in the UK is so crappy! I think you’re right!
Hey Kristof
I cover all about different filters in LOADS of detail in video 3 which will be with you in a couple of days!
Thanks
Ross
Im so guilty of this. I never drink enough! I’m going to do what you have said here and start with lemon water. I never knew lemons would be alkaline!
Hey Devine
I know what you mean, remembering to drink is the first challenge! I’ll be giving you MUCH more on this in video 2! For now, just remember to get your day started with lemon water
Ross
Hi Ross this is another superb video. You have helped me lose so much weight and keep it off and I can’t thank you enough. You make alkalizing easy. Thanks so much bro I am going to share this on Facebook.
Hi Alex
Thanks so much for the kind words…it means a LOT to me
Ross
Is AquqLiv a good water-alkline filter?
