The Chanson Water® Ultra-filter has .01 micron strands that trap and remove bacteria and viral contaminants from the water supply. Because the smallest bacteria known to man are .02 micron, the Ultra-filter can claim major anti-bacterial properties!
This is the worlds first “non clogging” .01 Micron filter. Filters with a .01 micron size are nothing new, they have been used and promoted as antibacterial filters for many years.
The problem is, because the pore size is so small, a .01 filter gets clogged very easily and in many cases is providing only drips of water with as little as 3 months of use.
With the Chanson Ultra Filter you get true antibacterial protection which includes;

UV light versus the Ultra filter - which is better?
This is not even a challenge for the Chanson Ultra Filter, UV light as a bacterial killer has many flaws, the 2 main flaws are, that if the UV bulb gets the lightest haze on it (which it will) the UV light becomes ineffective at killing bacteria. Also the speed at which the water flows past the light makes it difficult to be effective and you may not know when the bulb stops working. As health consultants, our biggest concern is that after a UV light kills bacteria, the dead bacteria is still in the water for you to consume!
Not so with the Chanson Ultra filter, 99.9% of all bacteria is larger than .02 micron and so the .01 ultra filter easily traps and removes the bacteria from water.
The Chanson Ultra filter element is made in the USA by the worlds largest membrane producer, Chanson then takes that element and creates our backwashing ultra filter housing, all Chanson plastics are food grade and BPA free.
Why doesn't the .01 micron filter get clogged?
Until now, .01 micron filters were not used in filtration units because of how easily they would clog - users would see reduced water flow after only 3-4 weeks of use! The Chanson Water® Ultra-filter has a self-flushing system which prevents clogging and extends the life of the filter. When the main faucet is turned on the contaminants are flushed down the drain, cleaning the filter! (See diagram in photos section)
