| Three of Alfred Vogel’s much loved herbs come together in this Complex – the golden orange flowers of the Marigold (Calendula officinalis) with their sticky residue, the delightfully-featured Wild Pansy (Viola tricolor) and the majestic Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) What is it used for? - Lymphatic complaints eg. acne, glandular fever, tonsillitus
- Detoxification
- Wound healing eg. anal fissures, mouth ulcers, stomach ulcers
Why is it needed? Lymphatic herbs are used as part of a detoxification process that clears excess wastes and toxins from the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system. The lymph relies on the action of muscles and the lungs to move around the body. If physical activity is restricted or the level of toxins in the system becomes too great for the lymph nodes to deal with, congestion can occur. Acne, swollen lymph glands, glandular fever and general lethargy can all result from this situation. Avoiding red meat, dairy products, sugar, alcohol and fried food will help, as will taking cleansing herbs such as Calendula. Traditionally, Calendula has been used as anti-inflammatory and for wound healing. These actions make it useful for conditions like Crohn’s Disease, where the reduction in inflammation reduces gut permeability. The external use of Calendula for skin lesions is well known, but the healing effect also applies internally, eg. stomach ulcers. The synergistic effect of the herbs in Calendula Complex make it a unique and effective lymphatic cleanser. How does it work? - Lymphatic cleanser
- Wound healing
- Depurative (blood purifying)
- Immune modulator
Calendula’s lymphatic action is a significant aid to detoxification mechanisms. Calendula is a cholagogue (increases the flow of bile) which, added to its depurative effect, makes it ideal for conditions where the lymph nodes are swollen or the lymph has become sluggish, causing skin conditions such as acne. |
