The first step is to infuse the herbs in organic oil. We usually choose extra virgin olive oil, which is renowned as an antioxidant and for its similarity to sebum, the oil naturally secreted by the sebaceous glands of the skin. The mixture is left in a warm environment, exposed to the energy of the sun and the moon, and then pressed to collect the oil which becomes the main active ingredient for the preparation. Spiezia’s process creates a safe and natural way to balance, moisturise and revitalise the skin. Most creams incorporate water, which can encourage the growth of germs, dilute ingredients and require the addition of an emulsifier and a preservative. By eliminating water from our products we are able to take full advantage of the preservatives that naturally occur in the ingredients we use.
