Care of the hair must be differentiated from simply washing and conditioning, for the health of the hair is intimately liked with the health of the scalp. This is skin which needs special care, particularly in relation to the blood and lymph circulation. These are carriers of the nutritional elements upon which the growth and the quality (health) of the hair depends.

All the well known hair problems, such as over-greasy hair, dandruff, hair loss and splitting and breaking hair can be traced to imbalances in the three layers of skin found in the scalp. Weleda grows its own plants organically and biodynamically, although they are not labelled organic as they also contain mineral ingredients which cannot be labeled organic as they are not cultivated.
