Proper Acid-Alkaline Balance pH indicates levels of acid in the blood. Measured on a scale of 1 to 14, a pH level of 7.43is optimal. Levels lower than 7.0 indicate an overly acidic state (called acidosis) while levels above 7.5 indicate an overly alkaline state (called alkalosis.).
