Study
Reveals ‘Fast Food Bad for Our Health’ Shocker

Personally, deep down, I never really suspected otherwise, yet
a new study has unsurprisingly, revealed that girls who eat fast
food frequently are consuming significantly greater amounts of
fat, salt and calories than girls who eat less fast food. I am
presuming that the same counts for boys.
It is believed that, on average, those who eat fast food approximately
four times per week consume over 130 calories and 150 milligrams
of salt every day, not to mention the extra saturated, artery clogging
fat - relative to those who are only succumbing to the bright lights
of the takeaway once per week or less.
It hopefully will not come as too much of a shock to you but the
research, recorded in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent
Medicine, proposes that reducing the amount of fast food we consume
could improve our overall diet and health quality.
"
The girls that eat a lot of fast food are getting too much fat,
salt and calories," study author Marcia Schmidt of the Cincinnati
Children's Hospital in Ohio told Reuters Health. "This is
partly due to the content of the food and partly due to the portion
size," she added.
The research study was based upon periodical interviews with a
sample of 2379 black and white girls in the US, over a period of
10 years. The researchers discovered that as the girls grew older
they had a higher propensity to eat fast food, perhaps related
to the increase in disposable income and decrease in free time.
This research effectively quantifies and makes real something we
do all already know – fast food is absolutely terrible for
us!
