    • Hi

I have Cancer and have made some changes to my diet.

When using the ph test strips / urine I get a different reading for each of the two squares. - how do I interpret this ?

      Thanks

      Kate
    • Hi Kate,

I'm sorry for the late response as we are not regularly monitoring this mailbox after we've migrated to a new system.

Anyway, the pH of saliva and urine are really affected by what you've just done. If you test your urine first thing in the morning, you will be eliminating all of the stored toxins in your body from overnight so it will be more acidic in the morning. The only way to get accurate readings is to follow the steps included on the package and test at the same time each day over the period of several days/weeks to get a trend.

    • when using the chart, does a higher number mean to much acid or alkaline, please e-mail me the answer thanks . dave
    • On the pH Scale 7 is neutral, the higher the alkalinity the higher the number above 7. Any number below 7 becomes more acid. You are aiming for around 7.5 for perfect alkaline balance.

    • If, say, a strip registers 6.5 on the top row and 5.75 on the bottom row, how should I interpret this?

      Many thanks
    • They should normally give you the same reading on both rows. Then you compare it to the colour chart and then may find that the reading is in between to different ph levels.

Are you following the instructions fully?

    • how do you measure the ph of body? what is the procedure with your strips?
    • It is good practice to either test 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating. Testing of urine and
saliva can be affected by immediate consumption, especially saliva, so give your body a chance to metabolise the food or drink you’ve consumed before testing.

If testing your saliva, it is a good idea to try to fill your mouth with saliva and then swallow. This helps remove any acidic bacteria that might be lurking. Do not try to wash your mouth out with anything else as this will simply record the alkalinity of the water/liquid you have just used.

For testing urine, let some urine flow before testing as this will give more of an average reading.

Because saliva and urine can have fluctuations based on your most recent activities, consumptions and
behaviours, it is recommended that you test 2-3 times in a day in order to get an average. If you test only
in the morning or only at night you will get a biased reading. For example, first thing in the morning the
body has retained fluids over a long period of time and it will engage in different processes to remove acid
wastes from the body throughout the day (depending on activity and diet).

Test yourself at the same times each day and record your readings over the course of a month or two. If
you test twice per day for six weeks, just one packet of Energise pH Strips will cover you – so it really is
      inexpensive.

If you only test yourself once today at, say 11am and then again in four days time at 6pm the results you
get are pretty much meaningless. You need to track the trend over time.
