Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within: London Friday 22nd June - Monday 25th June 2007 - ExCeL Docklands, London
UPDATE: Team Energise tickets available for UPW 22nd June - 25th June 2007
As you may or may not know, Energise for Life was founded after myself and my brother Callum attended Unleash the Power Within (UPW) in June 2003. We are, therefore, very passionate about this event and the difference it can make to peoples lives. I had read a lot of Tony Robbins’ books and done his CD courses such as Personal Power II and Get the Edge before, but this four-day event really galvanised my learning and brought everything together. In short - everything suddenly made sense.
Since 2003 we have attended every year and now take as many of the Energise crew as possible along with us. The only difference this year is that we are going to be taking along 50+ extra members as part of our Team Energise crew! Read on to find out more…
So What is Unleash the Power Within
Unleash the Power Within is a four-day event that will revolutionise every area of your life.
The UPW weekend is focused on creating a lasting impact in your life by breaking through fears and inspiring clarity to help you decide what you really want in life and what you’re here to contribute. It’s about developing a plan that produces measurable results at the peak of your capacity so you may flourish in your professional, personal and spiritual lives.
From a personal perspective, I found that the event brought together a lot of information and give me a fun and supportive environment in which to start planning and improving specific areas of my life. I set some pretty difficult goals (that I did go on to achieve!) and I turned around my health and finances pretty dramatically.
If nothing else, this was one of the most enjoyable and inspiring weekends of my life and one which I look forward to repeating every year. I met some great guys and gals at the event from all over the world and have a lot of great memories and references which I use to inspire myself time and time again.
Seriously, I am not just saying all of this in a wishy-washy way - I really do look back at the first event I went to in 2003 and think that going was one of the best decisions of my life. And so should you - as if I had not gone you would not be reading this
However, I appreciate that this is just my story, so I have scoured the web for some more people’s reactions to the event and have unearthed some gems:
- Diary of a Sales Manager
- Diary of an Advertising Manager
- Diary of a Business Development Manager
- Diary of a HR Manager
- Diary of Graham Frost
- Feedback on UPW from the Tony Robbins Message Board
These experiences are good to read as they do actually offer a balanced view of the event and are not over-hyped (i.e. they are not written by someone trying to sell something). The Tony Robbins message board also gives a good insight into some people’s experiences before, during and after the event (both good and bad!) and can give you an idea as to what people are feeling about their experience.
At UPW - Event Schedule

As mentioned, Unleash the Power Within is a four-day event that covers a lot! It gives you a thorough understanding of goalsetting, NLP, emotions, health and alkalising, fitness and energy, motivation, relationships and of course - the firewalk!
The four days are broken down as follows:

Those who create an extraordinary life and achieve their highest vision share one fundamental power: the capacity to harness their emotions of fear, overwhelm and limitation and turn into a drive for focused, clear and positive action. In this session, you not only will learn these fundamentals, but actively use them to create the unstoppable momentum that produces massive results.
What You’ll Learn:
. How to activate the driving force that moves anyone to action, including yourself.
. How to move through the limitations toward resourcefulness that all great leaders, entrepreneurs and top athletes tap into.
. How to find the psychological state of strength and activate the emotional fitness within yourself that can move you to overcome barriers that stand in the way of your professional and personal success. . How to instantly place yourself in peak emotional, mental, and physical states.
. Test your newfound resources by walking barefoot across a bed of hot coals (you don’t have to, but you’ll want to!)

Clarity is power. Leaders have it, followers are constantly looking for it. In this session, no matter where you’re starting out, you’ll leave with a clear understanding of what it is you truly want most in your life-whether it be your career, your business, your finances, your body, or your relationships. You’ll discover and learn how to tap into your greatest passions. You’ll make fundamental decisions, build a plan and begin to act upon it while creating strategies for sustained momentum.
What You’ll Learn:
. How to create a life of your design by using breakthrough technologies
. How to unleash the power of unconscious rapport and how to connect with anyone in personal and professional life.
. How to inspire those around you to consistently perform at peak levels. . How to develop strategies to better understand and influence people.
. How to identify and replace limiting beliefs for sustained results.

Living Health: Your emotions are tied to your physical health. Make a commitment to step into your new life with energy and vitality. Living Health will provide you with the resources to improve your health right away, without fad diets, difficult exercise routines or expensive equipment.
What You’ll Learn:
. The tools to dramatically increase your energy so you can get through the day with less sleep than you ever thought possible
. Strategies to bolster your immune system for improved health
Pre UPW - Getting There
Getting there is easy as ExCeL, Docklands is one of the most easily accessible exhibition and conference centres in Europe. It is easily reached whether you are travelling by car, plane or train:
Arriving by Air
London City (LCY)
London City is the nearest airport and it is probably best to just hop in a cab as it is only a five minute drive away. Other than taxi, I believe that there are regular shuttle buses that run to Canary Wharf where you can hop onto the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) for a very short hop to ExCeL.
Heathrow
You can get to Docklands all the way from Heathrow via the London Underground. The best route is to jump onto the Piccadilly line to Green Park and then scoot over to Canning Town on the Jubilee line (east). At Canning Town you can change to the DLR which takes you all the way to ExCel.
Gatwick
Similarly to with Heathrow, it is best to get across to Canning Town to change to the DLR. This is best achieved by taking the Gatwick Express to Victoria before changing to the District/Circle line and heading to Westminster. At Westminster you can change onto the Jubilee line (east again) and head to Canning Town.
Stanstead
From Stanstead you can get on the aptly named Stanstead Express which runs you into Liverpool Street. Here you need to get on the Central line to Stratford at which point you can get onto the Jubilee and head to Canning Town. At Canning Town you can get onto the DLR to ExCeL.
Luton
You can take the Heathrow Express from Luton, but make sure you get off at Paddington! At Paddington change to the Bakerloo line and head towards Elephant & Castle. At Baker Street you should change to the Jubilee line and groove over to Canning Town where you can change to the DLR and head on down to ExCeL.
Arriving by Rail & Tube
Whichever station you are arriving at in Central London - you goal is to head on over to the Docklands Light Rail as quickly as possible as this runs a service directly to ExCeL. The Jubilee Line is the best for this and Canning Town gives you the most direct access to Customs House/ExCeL.
Alternatively, if you are a bit more central you can change at the Central and Circle/District lines at Bank and then head on the DLR to Westferry and then change to ensure that your DLR route is to Beckton and not to Lewisham.
Anyway, here are all the links you will need:
The Trainline (bookings)
Arriving by Car
ExCeL is very easily accessed by car (not often you can say that) from the M25, M11, A406 and A13. All you have to do is head towards London (east) and follow signs for Royal Docks, City Airport and ExCeL (Docklands).
Here is a map of the approach to the site - you can find more info by searching the postcode E16 1XL on multimap.co.uk
There are over 4,000 parking spaces there in a very secure, patrolled car park.
Where to Stay
We have always stayed at the on-site Travel Inn and I would honestly try and get in there if you possibly can. It is literally a three minute walk from the main entrance and it is filled with other UPW - ers during the four days so it offers a great chance to meet and network with others.
The hotel itself is pleasant enough and it could not be more convenient.
The only place that is arguably more convenient is the Sunborn Yacht Hotel that is parked literally outside the main conference building!
If you are a bit flush then this could be well worth the extra money! However the best thing about this hotel is that you always get dozens of unsuspecting guests of the hotel watching 12,000 crazy people clapping and firewalking on the first night from the ship’s decks!
Aside from these two hotels, there are also Crowne Plaza, ibis, Novotel and Ramada hotels nearby.
At UPW - When You’re There
These are my guidelines and suggestions for Unleash the Power Within. They are not official and are based on my experiences at UPW:
- This truly is one of those events that the more you put in, the more you get out.
- You will have a lot of fun - that is guaranteed! So expect to play full out, be knackered and run on pure adrenaline
- Welcome new situations and being shifted outside of your comfort zone
- If you are going with friends consider sitting apart on days 2 & 3 as it will encourage you to do some of the activities with people you have never met and will have no preconceptions about you or your background/past
- Take some snacks and bottled water yourself as the catering at ExCeL is mostly junk food and bottled water is quite expensive if bought there (or enjoy your free green drinks if you are a Team Energise member - see below!)
- Not every exercise and technique will be for you - if you aren’t feeling it, don’t worry - just relax and take from it what you need and look forward to the next bit
- Take a camera with you - some of the photos will be priceless!
After UPW - Post Event Momentum
I have written a guide on post UPW momentum for last year’s event and I guess this year’s should be no different! Here are the take-out points:
- If you are cohabiting with someone who hasn’t just shared this weekend with you - have a good talk with them. DO NOT be over the top, DO NOT be condescending, DO NOT be righteous and DO NOT try to force them to think a certain way. Every one is different and what works for you does not necessarily work for them. This is so important - I know a lot of people who have been on both sides and have had relationships seriously strained following events like this, so please try to be accepting, understanding and patient.
Having someone support you and take you seriously is vitally important to keeping your momentum - so do not push your buddy away, even if you mean well!
- Right - now go and re-read your workbooks. Back to front. Twice. Now get a new, clean notebook and start to take notes. Write about the goals you set, the parts that struck a chord with you. Write about how they made you feel and what your life will be like from now on - now that you are on course to live your dream life. Revisiting your weekend like this will really firm up some of the ideas and beliefs you formed.
- Now start some real planning! The workshops and exercises you participated in at UPW should not be considered as done and dusted. They were just a taster! So take your most insightful or motivating goals and beliefs and do them again! This is especially pertinent to the mini goalsetting workshop. Use this workbook as a base - but get cracking now! At least take your top three goals and write down a) 10 things that will happen if you follow through b) 10 things that will happen if you don’t and c) 10 things you must do right away to move in the right direction!
- Revisit your ‘personal victory exercise’ from the back of the Living Health workbook. Write this out or type it up and put it somewhere where you will see it every day. The resourceful state you have put yourself in this weekend will be a great tool for you for the rest of your life. Get back in this state and anchor it!
- OK - lastly…START THE TEN DAY CHALLENGE! This is something that you will seriously never regret! It isn’t easy, but now is the time to do it, while you still have the motivation from UPW. I promise you that if you can do this, and experience the energy from doing it, all of your other goals will start to fall into place. Monday is the most important day of the event, make sure you use it!
UPW Tickets
Tickets for UPW are available through energiseforlife.com - as we are obviously great fans of the event. However, rather than just straightforward selling tickets we have tried to develop the ultimate UPW experience pack: Team Energise!
What is Team Energise
When you buy tickets from Energise for Life you get much much more than just tickets - you become a part of Team Energise.
Being part of TEAM ENERGISE means that you will be tapping into the experience of many people who have attended UPW before, and know exactly what needs to happen in order to get the most out of the weekend.
We have carefully created both a pack and an experience for the event that will take things to the next level. Being part of a supportive community within the event really helps with networking and builds friendships and camaraderie during the weekend.
The Team Energise Ticket includes:
And perhaps most importantly, you will be a part of a group of likeminded individuals - providing you with great networking and support throughout the event. And of course, Callum, John and the Energise crew will be there to answer any questions and offer you support when needed (and refill your green drinks throughout the event!).
Tickets for the event are £395.00 (Incl. VAT) so if you are interested click here to buy UPW tickets!
If you have any questions about the event or about tickets, please do not hesitate to get in touch with myself, Callum, John or Giles! Alternatively you can post a comment below and we can answer it here!
Please also feel free to get in touch or to come and say hello at the event if you have already bought your tickets as we would love to meet you and have a chat!
