OTC Weight Loss Pill Part 2

by Ross on January 25, 2006

More info is now being released by different newswires like this one here about the new OTC weight loss drug soon to hit our shelves.

I am pretty much getting less and less comfortable about this drug going OTC the more I hear about it:

Prescribed since 1999, Xenical would become the only FDA-approved weight-loss drug sold without a prescription if the panel’s findings are accepted. About 50 percent of patients experience mild problems, but more than 7 percent endured the aforementioned bathroom issues. The drug also blocks absorption of some vitamins and can cause organ rejection for transplant recipients.

So not only will the drug discourage people from looking to nutrition as an answer to their weight issues, but it will also block absorption of nutrients that they do consume.

…and what the?!

They also will give out clothing recommendations to cope with the potential bowel control problem

Seriously??!!
