A hat-tip of brobdingnagian proportions to Joanne Hay at Nourished.com.au for starting The Nourishing Meme.
The basic idea of a meme is that it is a list of questions (often five, apparently) that is proposed by someone and passed on to at least five other people, whilst linkin’/trackbackin’ to the originator. The aim is to stimulate conversation and provide linkages between people (and blogs) and to generally grow a community.
As anyone who reads this blog regularly will know – this kinda thing fits in with my blog goals superbly.
So, without any further chitter-chatter – here are the questions:
- What is the most nourishing thing you frequently do for your self?
- For your health, what will you never compromise on?
- Where do you get most of your health information?
- What single whole food or supplement has turned your health around the most?
- What is your favourite natural therapy?
And here are my answers:
- Go for a 5-10k run and follow it up with a fresh green veggie juice. It makes your day 1000% better
- Eating fresh vegetables at least three times per day
- Apart from here (heh) – the blogs I consult daily are Diet Blog and Mercola although I also check Technorati and Digg throughout the day too for news and views. Aside from blogs – I tend to use the BBC, Reuters, Mayo Clinic, WebMD and then finally community sites like Lime, and forums like the Tony Robbins forum, Healthy Pages – and of course I am learning LOADS from the members of our own forum! Oh and then books of course – I try to read at least one health book per week to stay fresh. Sorry – I’ll stop there. I’m an information junkie.
- Without a doubt – Udo’s Choice. It has given me so much more energy, improved my digestion, cleared up my skin and helped me grow some muscles! But don’t forget the healing power of hydration.
- Chillin’ on Cremorne Point and watching the boats!
OK – so who would I most like to see answer this? Well, Jim Foster has already done so and he would have been on my list for sure. So – can the following bloggers please stand up:
- Run FatAss Run!
- Amyella
- Fat Bitch!
- Diet Girl
- and definitely Karen at Raw Food Coach – go on!
I would love to see responses from all of you guys!
Again – this all originated with Joanne at Nourished – so head on over there, say hi and then start the process on your own blog (and don’t forget to pass it on!)
Edit :: I forgot to say – the greatest thing about this is that it made me aware of five blogs that I did not know existed before and I have added them all to my bloglines. Thanks Joanne!
