OK, so this is going to be a fairly quick post – but this is something that is pretty cool that I thought you all might like to have a play around on.
The site Real Age Inc. is great fun. Basically, at the very basic level you can sign on, answer a load of basic questions and it gives you what your ‘real age’ is. Some examples of questions are:
- On a typical day, about how many hours do you sleep?
- What is your resting heart rate?
- Have you EVER had asthma?
- Have you ever been treated for clogged arteries?
- How many PRESCRIPTION medicines do you take each day?
- How many miles will you DRIVE and RIDE as a passenger in a car, van or truck in the next 12 months?
- Have you ever had a sunburn that caused blistering?
- If you have EVER used tobacco on a regular basis for 3 or MORE MONTHS, which did/do you use?
- If you are currently sexually active, are you satisfied with your sex life?
And so on! There are quite a few sections and questions to go through – and it is surprisingly thorough! Having said that, it still only takes a couple of minutes til you’re done.
After it has assessed your strengths and weaknesses it gives you a LOAD of suggestions as to how to improve your health in your personalised MyRealAge Plan.
The only thing that I thought was lacking was the ability to enter more dietary information. Because the plan suggested that I consume more omega 3s. Now, it comes to that conclusion because I entered that I never eat fish. However, I take Udo’s Choice every single day and therefore get an absolutely optimal amount of omega oils in my diet (probably better than most fish eaters) – so to me this was inaccurate. It also suggested that I eat more vegetables. Which is odd because I eat vegetables at every meal and have juiced vegetables every morning.
Having said that – no tool like this can EVER be perfect and it was still a lot of fun!
