Diet Blog Round-up (THDBR) #27 & 28

by Ross on November 3, 2006

THDBR

Another double header. My excuses this time include:

  • spending a LOT of time being nice and helpful on the energise forum
  • working overtime on the new Unleash the Power Within minisite
  • getting up early, and staying up late to watch Spurs beat Besiktas, Club Brugge and West Spam
  • spending some time NOT working at weekends, but enjoying the sunshine (for once)

OK – so now I have got those excuses out of the way, it’s on with the show:

  • First up – everyone read this post from Holly. She has lost a load of weight, and her celebration posts are really inspirational. It is so important to celebrate your successes – so well done Holly. She’ll soon be calling herself ThinBitch!
  • Second huge congrats to Karen and the Fresh Network team who hosted their 2nd Fresh Festival last week. It sounds like it was an awesome event – and there should be coverage in the Guardian in the next couple of weeks – so keep your eyes peeled for that.
  • Jim at Diet Blog points out an interesting ad from BirdsEye - who have taken it upon themselves to market themselves as fighters of child obesity. As Jim points out – it is an interesting proposition. Part of me is glad that they are doing it – but the other part fully knows that it is absolute *****cks. Call me a pessimist, but this smacks of marketing spin to me. Reducing fats is only one part of a very large equation – and until they actively show me what they have replaced the fat with I will remain a pessimist.
  • Tanya has posted a couple of good ones lately – most notably a succinct review of Coke & Nestle’s joint project, and that she has started a new site for shopping!
  • Sol posts an interesting one about how a clear vision and intention led to him attracting something with great potential into his life. You know I believe that you get what you focus on and what you ask your brain for – so this post was very cool to me. Don’t forget to check out his 1p to 1 million pound project too.
  • Ririan reminds us to say thanks!
  • …and finally Fridge Raid give us a list of tip top weight loss resources
  • Let me know if I have missed you out!

I think it is great that you’re putting in so much effort for the people trying to lose weight. I, myslef, during the past 4 years, have lost 20 kilo’s and I know how long and hard can be the way to an almost perfect body and I also know, for a fact, that you cannot make it on your own without professional help
