Alkaline Recipe #23 Alkaline Avocado Power Shake

by Ross on April 23, 2009

alkaline green smoothieThis is such an important recipe in my life! Not only do I have it most days but I also rely upon it so heavily as I know it:

  1. Fills me up for hours
  2. Tastes great, smooth and creamy
  3. Gives me 4-5 serves of fresh, raw vegetables in one hit

I crave this stuff and urge you to try it and bring it into your life!

Alkaline Avocado Power Shake

Serves 2

Ingredients

1 cucumber
2 tomatoes
1 avocado
1 handful spinach leaves
1 lime
½ red pepper
½ teaspoon vegetable stock
1 scoop Mega Greens (optional)
1 scoop Super Soy Sprouts (optional)
1 tablespoon Udo’s Choice (optional)

Directions

Wash all of the ingredients thoroughly and then chop the cucumber, tomato, pepper and avocado roughly.

Dissolve the vegetable stock in a small amount (50ml) of warm water.

Place the avocado and stock in the blender and mix into a paste.

Next, add the high water content ingredients into a blender and blend until they are becoming more liquid.

Finally add the spinach, lime and supplements and blend until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.

Serve in a tall glass.

Do you peel the lemon/lime first? When I use my juicer I don’t but was wondering when you are using a blender. I know having a vitamixer would solve the whole issue, but if you are using a regular ol’ blender, would you peel the citrus first? Thanks!!!

I like the taste though, I think it needs more color on it.

Really been enjoying this actually.

Have added carrots, ginger & radishes too. A few times some black grapes (I know!).

Also added some hemp protein powder today; was great.

I don’t have a juicer, but do have a Magimix, so this is just right for it.

Hey Scott

Sounds awesome! Lemons would be just as good as limes, if not better – just down to personal taste prefs really!

Great addition with the flax and almonds – must have been a proper thick shake!

Have a great day mate

Really nice. Drinking it while I’ll type!

Didn’t have any limes left so used a lemon; seems fine though.

I also “powered” mine up with a tablespoon of milled flaxseed & a tablespoon of ground almonds.

Thanks mate
