Tony Robbins Video on the Alkaline Diet

by Ross on May 27, 2009

tony robbins video on the alkaline dietHey everyone

Tony Robbins is doing a great job with his frequent video updates and snippets (I only wish he’d been doing it longer!) and this weeks video is no exception.

This week Tony and Sage offer two very simple principles to boost your energy, feel great and (if you need to) lose weight.

callum and tony robbinsAnd guess what? The alkaline diet is the cornerstone of both suggestions.

Staying Alkaline in Real Life: A Practical Guide

alkaline greens in a hotel! I have been alkalising for five years and running the world’s largest alkaline diet resource for just as long – and in this blog post I am going to share my biggest tips on how to stay alkaline when you’re on the go.

This is one of the biggest challenges of staying alkaline and I’ve learned so much over the past five years about what works and what doesn’t.

Wheatgrass Health Benefits

by Ross on May 22, 2009

wheatgrass shotWheatgrass is one of the most potently healthy substances on earth. Yet for some reason it is still not mainstream. Since I’ve been using wheatgrass I’ve noticed my energy levels go sky high, my skin clear up and colds, coughs and illnesses disappear forever. Others have seen their gray hairs vanish, Rosacea clear up, bad breath subside, allergies clear up and a whole lot more.

You cannot detract from the simple fact that wheatgrass:

  • 30mls of freshly squeezed wheatgrass juice is equivalent in nutritional value to 1kg of leafy green vegetables

ravi ramanThis weeks interview is with Ravi Raman of sethigherstandards.com!

Ravi is an inspirational guy. He works full time, flat out for one of the worlds largest companies, while at the same time becoming a highly trained yogi, vegan and is currently mid way through a 30-day raw food challenge!

Earlier this week I caught up with him to quiz him on the virtues of his lifestyle, and also find a little more about his other passion – consistent personal development!

You’re a huge fan of Veganism and, more recently, raw foodism. When and how did you learn about this and what made you decide to go down this path?

Alkaline Recipe #26 Tangy Sprout Salad

by Ross on May 14, 2009

sprout saladThis is a crunchy, tangy and filling salad that uses one of my favourite ingredients – sprouts. Sprouts are so nutritious – they have all of the goodness of a whole plant, packed into a tiny sprout. So when you eat a handful of broccoli sprouts, you’re actually getting the goodness of a massive, gigantic serve of broccoli!

You can play around with this salad and mix it up a bit, but the dressing is to die for!

Growing Sprouts for Health & Energy

alfalfa sproutsWhen I first started learning about alkalising, sprouting was definitely one of those things that I put into the ‘too hard’ basket. It just sounded like something that would be a lot of effort, require expensive equipment, gardening skills and would generally be more effort than it was worth. How wrong was I? It is really easy and it is really, really cheap. And it is a really, REALLY great way to get an instant, easy nutrient hit!

alkaline foodsA recently published study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism (Vol 94, No 1 96-102, 2009) has provided further evidence that the consumption of and supplementation with alkaline minerals is essential for good health.

The objective of the study was to understand the effect of alkaline minerals (potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride) on bone health – specifically, the ability of these alkaline minerals to slow the bone resorption rate and calcium excretion.

The researchers measured the urinary N-telopeptide and calcium of the trial group (receiving the supplements) and control group every 24 hours for 3 months. And the result?
