Alkaline waterHey everyone!

This week Gareth Edwards, our Alkaline Diet Expert and highly qualified nutritionist, is explaining the importance of keeping our bodies well hydrated with alkaline water in order to stay fit and healthy!

The Importance of Hydration and Alkaline Water
Article by Gareth Edwards

When I drink more water, it just seems to make me pee more. So is there really any point in consuming the large amounts of liquid that alkalising gurus such as Dr. Young say is so central to the programme? Surely the water is just washing through me?

Okra with Coriander and TomatoesThis is a wonderful recipe which contains three of my favourite ingredients – Okra, Coriander and Tomatoes.

Okra is often combined with tomatoes and mild spices in various parts of the Mediterranean and is also an integral part of Indian, Middle Eastern, Caribbean and southern US cuisine.

Okra is not yet popular and widely known in the UK, so if you have not cooked with it yet then I can really recommend to give this delicious dish a try – you might discover a new vegetable favourite!

Alkaline Home Study Course Cover

Martin is just over half way through the course and describes it as ‘a fantastic experience’. He’s losing weight, feeling energised and fresh!

Great work Martin!

“I Feel Truly Alive”

I’m almost half way through the course and I can honestly say that I’m feeling better than I’ve felt in a very long time. It’s weird but I feel cleansed, fresh and energized. It really is a fantastic experience. I feel truly alive.

An additional by-product of me feeling so good is that I’ve also managed to shed 8lbs in weight. I initially started out at 13 stone 9lbs and I’m now down to 13 stone 1 lbs.

Alkaline Course Testimonial: Glad I Did It!

by Ross on January 21, 2010

I just received this email from Shola who has completed the alkaline diet course and has experienced significant benefits with joint pain she was told “nothing can be done”

She is now pain free and able to have fun with and take care of her Granddaughter! What a result!

“Glad I Did It”

It has been fulfilling embarking on this course which I intend to make my lifestyle . I started taking the MegaGreens before I started the course and saw a great relief to the arthritis in my knees. My knee joints (esp the right) were very painful and sometimes lock when walking or trying to stand up. I had coped with it for years because I was told it is a degenerative disease and nothing can be done…

Alkaline Recipe #58: Red Lentils with peppers

by Ross on January 12, 2010

Red Lentils with PeppersThis is one of my favourite dishes, as it is very wholesome, delicious and alkaline at the same time.

Lentils are not only delicious but are also packed with high levels of proteins and contain dietary fiber, folate, Vitamin B1, and minerals. Apart from that they are also one of the best vegetable sources of iron.

This dish makes a great main course or accompaniment with healthy fish like salmon.

Just try it and enjoy!

Alkaline Diet Questions With Gareth (5)

Each fortnight we’re putting the best alkaline diet questions we receive from you to our Alkaline Diet Expert, Dr Young trained blood analyst and highly qualified nutritionist – Gareth Edwards.

Gareth is right at the very top of his field, so these answers are absolutely the best you’ll find from arguably Britain’s most qualified expert in this area!

Q&A With Gareth Edwards

Question One – Spirilina:

As I get older I’m finding I’m feeling that acidic tummy and am looking into trying to go the 70/30% alkaline diet. Spirulina has always been a favourite energy drink. If it’s alkaline (do you know?) what would you suggest one mixes it with as it would be ghastly with pure water!

Alkaline Grapefruit Avo SaladThis is a wonderful salad filled with surprisingly delightful textures and flavours and has become one of my favourites in the past few weeks. Even though it is snowing where most of you are, this will bring some summer to your table!

The genius of serving it in a tortilla bowl is just, quite frankly, mindblowing. I love it! It is an idea I stole while I was on a cruise the other week (random, I know – but it was the cheapest way to get from Europe to the States – I actually MADE money!) and since then I’ve tried it a few times and loved it more each time.

5 Myths of the Acid Alkaline Diet

by Ross on January 6, 2010

From running energiseforlife.com I get dozens of emails every day from people who have questions about the alkaline diet. There are so many people out there who are really excited about starting on a path to acid alkaline balance but who have a reason (sometimes called an ‘excuse’) not to get started. And this is such a shame because these reasons are often founded on shoddy science, misconceptions and lies from the naysayers.

I’ve been studying and working in this area for long enough now to have an extremely thorough understanding of the principles, science and practical application of the acid/alkaline diet and so here it is –
