Dear Ross

Please please don’t take in this rubbish.
The stomach wall does produce Sodium Bicarb continually to protect the mucous membrane from the Hydrochloric acid which is produced primarily to start the digestionof protein. The acid also kills microbes which may enter with food. How can RY call HCl a POISON when it has such important functions, and cells (chief cells) specifically to produce it. The whole delicate balance and sophistication of the digestiive process is described in great detail in the standard medical textbook- Principles of Anatomy and Physiology -Tortora and Grabowski. Of course the saliva is alkaline because that is the range at which the enzyme amylase breaks down carcbohydrates. What he says about the pH of urine is quite wrong too. He should read MT Morter’s Correlative Urinalysis to get the understanding of buffering systems. Why does he keep coming out with so much inaccurate stuff. Why does he not try to educate himself? Very exasperating….
