Energise UKAbout Energise UK

Energise UK is the company that owns and runs www.energiseforlife.com and www.energisesuccess.com.

Our Story

EFL was founded (by brothers Callum and Ross) during UPW 2003. Why? Well, for the first few fledgling days (actually it was nights spent throwing ideas back and forth on messenger - much to the dismay of our girlfriends) it was simply because we wanted to. We wanted to start a business and we wanted the business to be doing something we are passionate about.

Then something strange happened - the more and more we spoke to each other and the more and more we told people about it the more and more it became obvious: we didn’t have a choice about this…it wasn’t up to us anymore…the world needed Energise (or whatever we were calling it back then!)

The Birth of energiseforlife.com

With almost zero web development skills we knew it was going to be difficult. However, what we lacked in skills we made up for in commitment and within a few short months the first signs of energiseforlife.com were visible. We knew we didn’t just want to build a shop - we wanted to build a community, somewhere like minded people could come together, learn from each other and push each other on. That is why at least 70% of the site is, and always will be about knowledge sharing and information, resources, recipes and guides and 30% is committed to bringing you all of the health and wellbeing products you need to follow through.

The Energise Blog: Meet the Author(s)

Ross BridgefordRoss!

As one of the two founders of Energise (alongside my brother Callum) I am passionate about health, fitness and helping others. We started Energise back in ‘03 with those three passions in mind and here we are three years later with a blog, forum and site that is beyond what many people expected that we could achieve.

Why start a blog? Well, the more I learned about web technologies and online communications the more I realised that blogging would be an excellent way for me to communicate more informally with the rest of the world, connect with other people and build a community!

About me: I am a 26 year old from Northampton in the UK and am currently sharing my time between Sydney, Australia and the UK. I have always had a massive interest in health and personal development which was really put into second gear during the UPW event mentioned above. During that event I set myself two main goals: 1) To start a business with Callum 2) To run the London Marathon and within a year I had achieved both.

The most important thing that came out of achieving those goals was that I knew that if I could achieve those I could achieve anything. The training and nutrition for the marathon also took my understanding of these passions a step further - and here we are today!

My background is in marketing and innovation, and since starting Energise I have also developed otaku (more than a hobby, just less than an obsession) for online marketing, website usability and information retrieval. Geeky, I know.

Aside from anything health or business related, I am obsessive about football, more specifically about Tottenham Hotspur FC. C’mon the Spurs!

Giles!

I joined Energise in January 2006. Why?

Well I’d basically been working in the Food Industry for 10 years researching and developing that pesky, lucrative, yet so conveniently cheap stuff known as processed food. Yes that’s right processed food!

Having had enough of the whole political rigmorole, with Tesco’s and Sainsbury’s hammering their suppliers to cut costs, I just felt that the whole food industry wasn’t about what I loved anymore. Food!

I have a degree in Food Science which incorporates such topics as Nutrition, Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry and such like. It was always the chemical interactions of food that always floated my boat and that’s one of the things I find so exciting about this whole Acid-Alkaline Diet revolution. For me it’s a whole new food science, something that I really want to get my teeth into and understand fully.

So if you want to find out anything about processed food, the acid-alkaline diet, nutrition, food chemistry, food microbiology and such like, then I’m your man. I can’t promise to know everything but I can promise that I’ll do my damndest to find out.

Cheers

Giles

Callum!

Hi! Callum here!

Along with Ross, I am one of the founding members of Energise UK. I originally came from the management consultancy industry. Having worked the traditional nightmarish hours there and got myself totally out of balance, I attended a Tony Robbins UPW event.

From the changes made at the event, I discovered the alkaline way of life, started drinking green drinks and totally transformed my life. From this newfound level of energy, I set up Energise UK.

Over the past two and a half years, I have developed a great knowledge of the Alkalive lifestyle, nutrition, fitness and weight training. I also have a fantastic knowledge of most of Tony Robbins strategies. So if you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to ask. I will be answering any questions in the different forum areas.

Ross, great to partner up with someone passionate about health and success. I just noticed my Innerlight business explode and I had to track down who was so successful. We are in Phoenix, Arizona in the USA and will soon be opening up a health store. I hope to see you in the USA in a few weeks.

Hey Samuel

Great to hear from you! Yep - passionate is a frequently used word around here!

It is also great to hear that you are opening up a store - it would be great to hear how you get on with that!

If there is anything we can do to help web-wise just give me a shout!

Have a great week
Ross

Hello,

I recently came across your blog: example.com while I was looking for good blogs to link to from the website HiSunglasses.com. I am trying to link to blogs that my visitors might like to visit once they are finished on the site.

Since HiSunglasses.com is visited by 1,000s of people daily, I am sure many of them would be interested in visiting your blog. I figured since we are not competitors in any way, you wouldn’t mind if I link to your website. Please email me back and let me know if this is OK with you. Would it be possible for you to link back to my website HiSunglasses.com? Please let me know. Thanks.

Magdiel

Hi,

I’ve recently been recommended the alkaline diet as a step to curing the IBS type symptoms I suffer from. Really like your website and it has reassured me that I really can change my eating habits and improve my health.

My question is - as active person (I run and go to the gym) I am a carb addict! Where will I get my energy from if I am cutting back on pasta/potatoes etc?

Many thanks,

Nicola

I’ve started doing research on managing GERD/Acid Reflux with diet changes. I keep coming across information on creating a more alkaline diet. However, I have yet to see if the two are tied together. Do you have information on whether an alkaline diet will help manage symptoms of GERD?
