Alkaline Diet Tips

When people first ready my Acid / Alkaline Food Chart they get an understanding of which foods are alkaline, but are then left wondering “…HOW am I going to get alkaline?”.

In this follow-up post to my “7 Most Alkaline Foods” I wanted to show you my five quickstart actions for getting green into your diet and giving you an alkaline kickstart-headstart as easily and quickly as possible.

Getting Alkaline As Quickly As Possible

My approach to coaching the alkaline diet is based around a few key principles:

  1. Trying to be perfect from the start leads to failure in 90% of cases

7 Steps to Alkaline Hydration

by Ross on October 27, 2011

alkaline water pourYou all know how important it is to stay hydrated right? Of course you do. It is THE most important part of the alkaline diet and no matter what your health goal – hydration will be at the core of it.

However, “how to stay hydrated” is always at the top of most peoples biggest questions/hurdles when trying to get healthy. It is a combination of not enjoying plain water and/or simply not REMEMBERING to drink enough. People often tell me that drinking 3-4 litres is too hard and they can’t do it – but I think that if you break it down to: 3 litres divided by 15 waking hours…drinking 200ml per hour is not that hard…so it really is remembering to drink enough AND making it enjoyable.

Giving Up Coffee – Quick Recommendations

by Ross on September 22, 2011

giving up coffeeHi guys

Back from my paternity leave and right back into it!

This is just a quick one – I just got an email asking me for recommendations on giving up coffee and I thought it might be useful to share my response here.

I know getting off the black stuff is a big one for lots of you :)

Question from JF

Could I ask, being something of a coffee-freak and looking for alternatives, do you know if dried dandelion root pieces boiled in alkaline water to make dandelion coffee would result in an alkaline drink? It is quite palatable.

Alkaline Diet Tip #3: Skin Brushing

by Ross on December 11, 2009

Skin BrushingAs Dr Young always says, there are five primary ways for the body to eliminate toxins:

  1. Urination
  2. Defecation
  3. Respiration
  4. Perspiration

And while you can drink plenty, eat the right things and exercise to help encourage these processes, the skin needs a little more help. The skin is the largest organ you have and it is absolutely amazing at helping to keep you healthy, eliminating the acids and wastes that your body creates through it’s normal, daily bodily functions.

alkaline diet tipsHey everybody!

This quick tip is a quick tip because it gives you a great way to help alkalise your body – BUT it is also the definitive answer to the question as to whether lemons are alkalising – and if so, HOW?

The Alkaline Diet Quick Tip Series #2: Lemons ARE Alkalising

This one is a really easy one for me! I mean, I’ve blogged about lemon water before, but this time I’m letting new Energise recruit Gareth Edwards do the talking!

how to make alkaline water guide bannerBumblebee man, he say - lo siento

Post Updated: 6th January 2010

Since I posted this blog back in March 2006 its received a fair amount of attention and there have been quite a lot of comments left (230+ to date). These comments are a mix of questions, agreement and a whole lot of flaming (some personal) against me. So I thought it would be a fine time to update the post, give you more information and clear up a heap of the questions that keep being asked!
