Hi guys
It always frustrates me when I see people struggling with the alkaline diet because I know that most people have been led to believe it is harder than it really is, and that you have to try and be perfect right from day one.
[NINE Alkaline Recipes Below!]
If you’ve read many of my articles/guides you’ll know I don’t believe that this is true and that going slowly, transitioning gently and building up is THE only, sustainable way to get alkaline and stay alkaline. And I really want this blog post to help get you started and keep you on track.

Something that I am asked for over and over by beginners is a starter alkaline diet shopping list, those things you need to REALLY get going and start feeling the benefits right away.
I know how amazing it can be to feel that massive positive rush of energy and vitality and all-round positivity when you first start to alkalise and this shopping list will be a big help to you.
…because I know how frustrating it can be to start with so much motivation and enthusiasm only to be undone by not having the right tools in the box.

Hi guys
Since I’ve been promoting hydration as the most important part of the alkaline diet I’ve had heaps of questions asking me whether herbal teas are alkaline, so I thought it would be a nice idea to blog about my favourite alkaline herbal teas!
Is Boiled Water Alkaline?
The first thing to address is this – is boiled water alkaline? The answer is yes! Water that is ‘naturally’ alkaline due to ionization or mineral content holds it’s pH wonderfully. You can use a water ionizer, alkaline water jug or other filter to make alkaline water, boil this and you’re set. If you’ve ionized the water, it also holds its ORP too.

The alkaline diet is focused around eating alkaline foods and avoiding acid foods. So wouldn’t it make sense to know what the most alkaline food is? Of course, there are many contenders, but if you make sure you eat a lot of the most alkaline food then you will rapidly start to experience the wonderful benefits of the alkaline diet.
How we know that foods are alkaline?
There are two ways to determine whether a food is acid or alkaline. A right way and a wrong way! The reason I say this is because one method tests the alkalinity or acidity of the food before it is eaten whereas the other measures whether the food is acid-forming or alkaline-forming in the body and I am much more interested in the latter.

I’ve had a fair amount of questions from people who have downloaded my Ultimate Acid Alkaline Food Charts who want to know how they measure out foods to make sure they hit the desired 80/20 ratio of alkaline/acid.
Question:
As I understand it, I should be eating 70-80% of my food from the alkaline list, so, is that 70-80% by volume or weight or calories? 2 cups of spinach is a lot more volume than 4 oz of meat, but weighs a lot less, thus my confusion.
My Answer:

Eating Overly Acid Foods & The Symptoms of Acidosis
“One sickness, one disease, one cure.” In the jungle of health messages and choices this simple suggestion shines out like a beacon of hope to us all. “Over simplified” some might argue, but increasingly gathering weight and momentum as a foundation on which we can re-build (or hopefully maintain) optimum health.
The idea that the the acid foods (and alkaline foods) we consume and the pH of our body fluids and tissues may be directly associated with disease or health is by no means a new one. In 1933 Dr. William Howard May wrote in his book “A New Health Era”:
