Flash Beer - Carlton Do It Again…

by Ross on September 14, 2006

Flash Beer FlashBeer is the new advert from Carlton over here in Australia. I know, I know - this is not health related per se - BUT as the laughing yoga man shows us - laughter is a great medicine and this ad definitely made me laugh (I’m still chuckling).

Check it out: Carlton > Flash Beer

One of the finest ads of all time…

Massive kudos to agency George Patterson for crafting both this and the now legendary ‘It’s a Big Ad‘ campaign.

Wurrrr

I know, I know, this is a health blog - but this has at least got almonds in it. And your eyes are related to your health and this is messing mine up!

If anyone can explain how this works I will give them a free prize*

*not sure what yet but it will be good.

Nice Post About Attitude

by Ross on August 29, 2006

Normally I don’t blog to just point out another blog post - but I really liked this post I just stumbled upon. It is about focus and attitude (in this case regarding our jobs/money) - and I have learned a lot and remembered a lot from just reading through it once.

Head on over and see what you think - could you use this to change the way you think?

Read the post about attitude here.

Inspired by super-Aussie-blogger Darren Rowse, I have decided to put together my top 10 reasons to become a vegetarian. I have been a ‘vego’ since I was 15, and these reasons are based entirely upon my experiences!

Oh and by the way, this is just for fun, it’s not meant to offend anyone. Honest.

  1. Most importantly - you will ALWAYS be served more food by friends at parties, dinners and barbeques (due to the non-vegetarian’s perception that if you don’t eat meat then you must need double the food to keep your energy up)

Free Givaways with UPW Tickets

by Ross on August 10, 2006

free ebookHaving looked around at some of the offers from UPW ticket sellers (it is a fairly dodgy world out there) I have started to notice that a few are trying to entice sales in with freely available information.

So I have decided to post links to things as I find them here for you.

  • Tony Robbins Power of Momentum Workbook: yes, this is indeed priceless - but you don’t need to buy a ticket from anyone to access it. Tony gave it away free in an e-newsletter a while ago and I posted a link to it in our last post-UPW blog entry back in March. In case you missed it then - here it is: Power of Momentum.

Back from holiday…

by Ross on July 10, 2006

Hello again. I am now back from my holidays to the UK (home) and therefore normal service is about to be resumed!

It has been a lovely break, but I am bursting at the seams with new ideas, articles and resources - so the next few weeks should see me getting back up to normal posting speed with some ease. Right now though it is the equivalent of being very early in the morning for me - so I am very very tired.

Anyway - thanks for your patience over the past few weeks of very light posting!

Light Posting For a Little While

by Ross on June 18, 2006

Hi, I just thought I should warn you all that I will be spending a lot less time at a computer screen while I am back in England - partly to give myself a holiday and partly because I will be glued to the world cup!

Anyway, so while I am here posting will be a little bit light. I am toying with the idea of writing a load of posts all at once one day (as I have got quite a lot of ideas and things I want to say building up) and then either slapping them up all in one go or once per day to see me through the next couple of weeks.

In talking to Jim at Diet-Blog and Tanya at iateapie over the last couple of days it has only just really dawned on me this week how the THDBR fits very neatly into the goals I publicised a few days ago.

The THDBR is my attempt to publicise and share all of the great, lesser known blogs out there and build a community of bloggers who are passionate about health. Let’s face it - it is not easy for us to build a community in a world that is dominated by techie, geeky communication tools (I don’t expect the visitors of this blog to have to understand tagging, rss, digg or delicious) and where most of the community-building-networking only goes on between the blogging A-List/technorati top 100. Let’s face it, these tools are custom made for spreading the word and building the community for tech-based blogs, but for us health types, it is not so good.

Here are the blog goals for the EFL Blog June 2006-June 2007:

  • To encourage the creation of a new community of at least 6 other alkaline diet/natural health blogs - these do not exist yet, but through blogging passionately and regularly on the subject, I intend to inspire others out there to believe that this is possible, it is easy to achieve and it is most certainly worthwhile. I have already connected with a lot of new friends who are also passionate about this subject and the longer time goes on the more chance there is for me to encourage others to start blogging!

OK so I have blogged a bit in the past about goalsetting and about the reticular activating system and about manifestations. But this week, two posts have led me to action.

Firstly, Steve Pavlina’s post on manifestations has reminded me of how powerful and inspiring this concept can be.

Secondly, Darren Rowse at ProBlogger has invited people to post their blog goals to create a big goal-a-thon, mass inspiration post.

Cheers to both of you, so here are my goals for the Energise for Life Blog!

THDBR #11

by Ross on May 25, 2006

The Thursday Health & Diet Blog Roundup is gathering more steam - last weeks was the 2nd most viewed post this month! Maybe it is people just ego-surfing to see what is being written about them on Technorati or Google, but hey - I don’t care. As long as you keep lookin’, I’ll keep postin’
