So many of you who have seen my Definitive Acid / Alkaline Food Chart ask me – “…of the alkaline food list – which are the most alkaline foods?” so I wanted to create a full, in-depth analysis blog post of the Seven Most Alkaline Foods!
For each food I’ve given an intro, nutritional content per 1 cup, a number of free alkaline recipes that I’ve created for this blog or the Alkaline Diet Recipe Book and also a handful of research papers that have been published to validate the benefits stated.

These wraps are GENIUS! People often tell me how hard it is to find sprouted wraps in the UK (in the USA you can find them at Alvarado Street Bakery – they might even ship to the UK…) so these wraps are the perfect, alkaline answer!
They are perfect for a healthy lunch if you are on the go or a quick alkaline snack in between.
I really like normal wraps, but then thought – I also love San Choy Bow…hmmm…I have an idea here – how great and more alkaline it would be if you swapped out the bread wraps with something more alkaline and healthy … lettuce of course!

Article by Gareth Edwards
This week Gareth Edwards, one of the UK’s best qualified nutritionists and alkaline diet experts, writes about the subject of healthy fats and oils.
We are often told in the Media that fats are generally bad for us, which is simply untrue. There are good and bad fats and in order to achieve good health, it is very important to consume healthy fats like the essential fatty acids (EFAs).

This is an alkalising quinoa salad with avocado, which is not only healthy but also highly delicious.
Quinoa is an ancient “grain” from South America, which was once called “the gold of the Incas”, who believed that due to its nutritional benefits it increases the stamina of their warriors.
Quinoa is very high in “complete” protein, which means that it includes all nine essential amino acids. In addition to protein, it is also packed with other valuable nutrients like manganese, iron, magnesium, copper and phosphorus.

This is a delicious and ultra healthy green smoothie recipe from Gareth Edwards, our Dr Young trained blood analyst and highly qualified nutritionist.
In order for nutrients to be digested, the food containing them needs to be “broken down”. Chewing is a vital part of this process. A speedy and efficient alternative to hours at the table is to make nutritious salads “in the blender”. The result is a delicious snack or meal.
Using predominantly green foods means that the smoothie is rich in chlorophyll, minerals, phyto-nutrients and has a low glaecemic load.

I have just got back from a holiday to Corsica and discovered a delicious salad there, which contains my favourite type of salad which is lamb’s lettuce, a highly alkalising avocado (see whfoods info on avocado here – fantastico) and a handful of crunchy walnuts.
Lamb’s lettuce is extremely healthy and has many nutrients, including three times as much vitamin C as lettuce, beta-carotene, B6, B9, vitamin E, and omega-3 fatty acids. You will already know how nutritious and alkaline avocados are, as they are very rich in potassium, B vitamins, vitamin E and K. Avocados are also known to promote healthy skin and hair. Some people use them for facial masks, however they are most beneficial when eaten.

DELICIOUS! I love this dip. It is so quick and easy to make and contains a heap of the wonderful nutrients I always look for in my day: omega 3, omega 6, fibre, iron, protein, selenium and the wonderfully alkaline minerals potassium, manganese, calcium & magnesium. Not only are avocados a potent source of monounsaturated fatty acids including oleic acid, which has recently been proven to offer significant protection against breast cancer, but it is also a very concentrated dietary source of the carotenoid lutein; it also contains measurable amounts of related carotenoids (zeaxanthin, alpha-carotene and beta-carotene) plus significant quantities of tocopherols (vitamin E).

If you are a fan of raw soups like the Spanish Gazpacho you will love this delicious raw avocado soup with tomatoes and fresh spinach!
Avocados are incredibly healthy and alkalising and provide our bodies with six times more energy than sugar and proteins. They are rich in potassium, B vitamins, as well as vitamin E and vitamin K.
The avocados combined with the other highly alkalising vegetables like spinach and tomatoes make this soup very tasty and refreshing.
